A David Jones ad in today's Daily Telegraph lists the following TV specials:

Samsung LA40C6501F Full HD LCD 101cm (40") $399

Samsung UA40C5000QF Full HD LED 101cm (40") $499

Panasonic THP58S20A Full HD Plasma 147cm (58") $899

I'll leave it to the Ozbargain experts to comment on their merits, as I've no idea.

I don't know the deal expiry date, as none is listed, so the date shown is made up.

It also lists a Digital Still Camera Sale from $49 (Sony, Panasonic, Nikon, Canon and Olympus), but doesn't list any specific models.

    Keep in mind, unless you get fresh warehouse stock, you are buying a store demo that runs the whole time the store is open, 7 days a week.

    Yes, these are 2010 models. Is it any wonder that David Jones is performing so badly, when they still need to sell models bought from the manufacturer, so long ago. Management should hang their heads in shame for allowing David Jones capital to be tied up for so long.

      not only that, but profit is made on turn over…

      keeping it in stock uses valuable floor space (even if its in the warehouse) as you pay rent on floorspace. so you have to take that into account when selling items, the longer something is in stock the more it costs you…

        Im no expert but id think its because customers like to flip the tvs around peek at the back, kids playing with the controls, and being run pretty much everyday for 8-12 hours straight.

        Yup. I think I posted somewhere before that we had 3 panasonic brand new plasmas that had image burns in less than 2 months (one of those TVs was a 3d one).

        We also had an image burn on a LCD 3d tv by Samsung, which was really surprising.

    Just popped into the David Jones Sydney CBD store and grabbed a Samsung LA32C450 for $199 (it was the last non-demo one) - it's basic but it'll do to replace the old CRT clunker in the bedroom which is on its last legs.

    They had a decent range of Samsung, Sony and Panasonic models all still in their boxes - so it's not just demo models being sold.

      I went to the Warringah Mall store last night and got a Sony DSC-W530 camera for $49 as well, not too shabby for the price. I noticed they had the old Series 9 Samsung on clearance for $2999 if someone was wanting the stainless steel monster! :)

    just went to get the UA40C5000QF but spent an extra $100 and got the UA40C6900 instead =D
