I was recently looking for a small-sized soundbar as I had a $250 JB Hi-fi voucher and came across this speaker and ended up purchasing it. In general it has some pretty good reviews across sites and it was a huge upgrade from the sound from my TV, particularly for dialogue which I was focused on as I live in an apartment and a deep bass sound wasn't my priority.

The same speaker is also available at the below stores if you want to try and get further discounts using gift cards/vouchers/cashback:
JB Hi-Fi - $399 (Price Match $297) - Call through to get a price match to Amazon
Bose Store - $299.95 (Expired)
Myer - $319
Videopro - $297

Features
Hear your TV better - Designed with simplicity in mind, the Bose TV Speaker is a small soundbar that clarifies speech and is a simple fix for better TV sound
Wide, natural sound - Two angled full range drivers deliver a more realistic, spatial audio experience for overall better TV sound from a small soundbar
Enhanced dialogue - This TV speaker is designed to specifically focus on clarifying and elevating vocals and pronunciation
Bluetooth TV speaker - Pair your device to this Bluetooth soundbar to wirelessly stream your favourite music and podcasts
Simple setup - A single connection from this compact soundbar to the TV via an optical audio cable (included) or an HDMI cable (sold separately) has you up and running in minutes

    • Yup works perfectly.

  • Or, how about a Dolby Atmos soundbar with subwoofer for $249? https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-24-…

Probably sound better too. Flame retardant suit on.

This site is confusing. Do upvotes relate to the deal or the wordsmith. Is this an amazing deal or not.

    • +1

Right, I thought this was an amazing deal on a BOSE speaker but apparently based on comments the upvotes are for the effort put into the post. Super confusing lol.

    • RRP is $399 so it’s a pretty good deal, just happens to be available from different sources around the same price at the moment.

      • Just patronising the mods to fix this major flaw with OZB.

  • Are soundbars only for older TV's, or would this still be an upgrade over the speakers on a modern TV?

I've never used one but don't find the sound on my TV bad at all.. wondering if I should keep the whole "ignorance is bliss" thing going? haha

    • It would be a minor upgrade but like with everything, if you don't need it, don't buy it!

    • I was in a similar situation once. I had no issue with my LG TV's 2 x 20W built-in speakers as they were loud and clear already.

Then, I added the soundbar with a small hope that it would make my music streaming experience better.

Now, I can tell you it does provide better overall sound quality (more oomph if comes with subwoofer, bigger soundstage, clearer dialogue. EQ ability, surround sounds for movies)

      still.. it's good-to-have but not must-have

Depends what speakers your TV has, some TCLs have Harman Kardon for example improvement will be minimal, some Sony’s have Dolby Atmos so you’ll get better sound quality with the Bose but lose the Dolby Atmos.

Like the other replies say, if you don’t feel a need don’t bother, if you think you could do with a audio boost you’ll hear the improvement.

With 253 upvotes, you might actually think this soundbar is good.

Still too big for my minimal setup. Wish they'd release a soundlink mini 3 :(.

  • I was looking for speakers for my pioneer sb2 mixer. Wonder if I can connect this to them via Bluetooth?

    • -1

It does have bluetooth connectivity but the manual only mentions for mobile, maybe theres more info online or you can ask Bose if someone here can't help.

  • Can i Connect this to alexa or google nest home assistant

    • +2

Dont believe so, if you were sticking with Bose you'd have to get their smart speakers.

      • +2

Mind it, Bose’s smart speaker can’t talk to any of the Google’s streaming services like YouTube VDO or YouTube music though Bose says and you can use Google smart assistant on them.

  • Does anyone that has this soundbar comment on how good it is?
Im looking for one that connects to my Samsung smart TV in the living room.
