ALIEN: In space no one can hear you scream. The terror begins when the crew of a spaceship investigates a transmission from a desolate planet, and discovers a life form that is perfectly evolved to annihilate mankind. Sigourney Weaver stars as the iron-willed Ripley, who is destined to battle the galaxy's ultimate creature.

ALIENS: This time it's war! In this action-packed sequel to Alien, Sigourney Weaver returns as Ripley, the only survivor from mankind's first encounter with the monstrous Alien. Her account of the Alien and the fate of her crew are received with skepticism - until the mysterious disappearance of colonists on LV-426 leads her to join a team of high-tech colonial marines sent in to investigate.

ALIEN 3: Lt. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is the lone survivor when her crippled spaceship crash lands on Fiorina 161, a bleak wasteland inhabited by former inmates of the planet's maximum security prison. Ripley's fears that an Alien was aboard her craft are confirmed when the mutilated bodies of ex-cons begin to mount. Without weapons or modern technology of any kind, Ripley must lead the men into battle against the terrifying creature. And soon she discovers a horrifying fact about her link with the Alien, a realization that may compel Ripley to try destroying not only the horrific creature but herself as well.

ALIEN: RESURRECTION: A group of scientists has cloned Lt. Ellen Ripley, along with the alien queen inside her, hoping to breed the ultimate weapon. But the resurrected Ripley is full of surprises for her "creators," as are the aliens they've imprisoned. And soon, a lot more than "all hell" breaks loose. To combat the creatures, Ripley must team up with a band of smugglers, including a mechanic named Call (Ryder), who holds more than a few surprises of her own.

    Game over, man.

A lot of people say that Aliens was better than Alien. Totally different pacing and styles of film, but Alien has always been my clear favourite. What do you think Margaret?

    • +2

Margaret loved alien vs predator the most

      • Can't say it is one of the best in series but I love AvP: Requiem… I feel they really nailed the Predator side of things.

        • I actually saw them review it I think she gave it a bad review lol

          • +2

@Budju: It was almost universally critically loathed. Except by me, and that's the most critical thing of all.

        • AvP: Requiem another favourite next too Alien Resurrection and Aliens 2, prefer it when there are numerous Aliens to kill or dare I say run away from๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜

    • You steal my hat, sir?

I picked this up last week at this price. Great set. Each movie comes with two different cuts - directors' cut and theatrical.
    Brilliant deal.

    I missed it

    I'm absolutely seething, I leant a friend my anthology and she lost it and have been wanting a new one ever since ;~;

    • Why do you need to replace it? I would have replaced it if I lost it and admitted it to you.

I bet they lent it out to another person … How else does someone lose something like this?

  • Is this not 4K? Why are they still making content that isn't 4K? I feel like all new Blu-rays should be 4K.
The old films can be scanned into 4K.

Why is my Toyota not a Bugatti? Why are they still selling airline tickets that are not business class? I feel like all new video cards should be RTX 3090s.

      • +3

Well, my justification is that most modern TVs are 4K now. We've been waiting ages for a good amount of 4K content, but it's coming so slowly. So I want to encourage more 4K content. 1080p is old now, and even basic devices can handle 4K now. It's not much more difficult or expensive to put a 4K movie on the disk instead of 1080p.
Similar to how I think everyone should just hurry up and switch to USB-C already, instead of lingering around with USB-B. Some manufacturers are still making devices with USB2 Ports, even though 3.0 has been out for years.

  • I actually dont like the remaster of aliens, its too crisp. On a large modern tv, you can clearly tell when its a scale model set being filmed, as well as a matt painting for the background. Aliens is supposed to be a dark, moody movie, but when everything is crisp, clear and bright, it really takes away from the atmosphere.

  • Aliean Resurrection is my favourite followed by Aliens (II), certainly would've bought if they were 4K BluRays but still a great price for standard BluRays ๐Ÿ‘

  • Is this Aliens or Aliens: Special Edition?

The latter is so much better though some people think showing Hadley's hope early in the film kills the tension.

But the Sentry guns scenes and the Ripley's daughter backstory really help the narrative.

    Back in stock OP ๐Ÿ˜

Decided to buy 2 sets as can't go wrong at this price even if there only standard blurays, well gonna try my luck selling the second set I purchased on eBay, hopefully the sale on eBay pays off for my first set lolz, probably sell the 4 set discs individually for better prohit๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜›

  • Predator box set is 15$ as well if you buy another bluray you get two for 30$

  • Back in stock,.. again ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜

  • I like the scene where she gets her chest busted.
