Yellow Sherrin KB AFL Match Ball $89.99 (RRP $199) Plus Postage (free on >$120 spend) @ Lions Shop

570

There's nothing better than kicking a genuine, real deal, kangaroo leather, Sherrin KB.

This is a cracking deal for one if you know what I'm talking about (and if you don't, you should jump on at this price!). I'm going to assume as an OzB'er, you're not going to let a couple of Brisbane Lions or sponsor logos deter you from a sensational price.

Can confirm this is the genuine article which would ordinarily be $199 as the official match ball or $189 without the game day embroidery from the Sherrin website.

Discount automatically applied at checkout.

Regular postage is free if you spend over $120 or $10 if not.

  • These aren't actually match balls. They are the same balls the lions use when they train hence their sponsorship and the lions logo on the balls. Old stock from 2019 as Oaks isn't a sponsor anymore

    • +1

You sure they're not the home game match balls (even if they're old stock)? Either way, they're the genuine article Sherrin KB-wise.

      • +3

Nope AFL always supply the match balls. As for having a team sponsor on them I'm unsure. But the way to know if it's a match replica ball or a training ball is the team logo will be on the training ball. As for this ball it is an official replica of a Lions training ball from 2019

          This man knows his balls!

great price for a KB, got a red one from my local shop for $105. There is also a common facebook buy that gets them for around $95

    • Serious?! They're good prices too. Apparently there was a bit of a surplus last year since many clubs who would ordinarily order KBs in bulk didn't do so due to covid season cancellations.

I hope the cheaper KBs hang around, but it won't surprise me to see prices go back to $160+ pretty soon….

      • sports center, top of port road in SA.

        • +1

Yeah, nice. It's hard enough finding a KB in QLD, let alone one lower than RRP!

    • Can you point me to that FB buy? Cheers

        • Saw that yesterday. Clubmed requires sign up. Can't see shipping and taxes without doing that unfortunately.

          ………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Bit the bullet and can confirm shipping is free and $94 for the red match ball is full price.
Thanks for the info and follow up. Much appreciated.

          • @[Deactivated]: No worries dude, I know my mate said they had KBs at some point for the same price but I don't know and doubt there is much difference.

    KB?

    • +1

Kevin Bartlett. Was a Richmond legend, 400+ games.

Haha, seriously though - 'KB' in the context of a Sherrin is the name of the top-of-the-range ball. It stands for "Kangaroo Brand". You'll see "Kangaroo Brand" on all Sherrins, but not all Sherrins are 'KBs' (confusing, I know). 'KB' is a title reserved exclusively for the top of the range ball.

      • Kevin Bartlett.

Whoosh for me as I don’t follow AFL. I was thinking… “oh right, he must have been good if they named a ball after him.”

Was this the one that landed in the MCC last Saturday?

    • Tough crowd.. unlike the MCC last saturday

Back to 179.99 on the website….old balls are good right, less likely to have COVID

    • +1

      Discount added automatically at checkout

  • These one is a year old. The leather already not as soft

    • Thank you

  • -7

Thats a lot for a ping pong ball:)

    • Strange comment.
      What's strange about the game?
      What's strange about the players?

      • -4

Not the players, Melburnians in general

        • +1

So the game isn't strange nor are the players but all Melburnians play Australian footy? Stranger by the minute.

  • Great deal, unfortunately, I'm more of a red ball fan, but can't be complaining particularly as these aren't all too often discounted.

  • Genuine question - what makes this so much more expensive than a cheap football?

    • +1

Leather quality - bottom balls will be synthetic

      • Thanks for an insanely quick reply! Makes sense I guess

A shame the AFL don’t use footballs made by an Australian company.

    • -6

A shame you haven't posted a deal in 7 years.

Fyi AFL KB game balls are made in Australia. Shame you didn't know that. The reason other AFL balls aren't should be obvious, unless you've been hibernating for a couple of decades.

      • +1

I think they're more referring to the fact that Sherrin is no longer Aussie owned.

        • Like many Australian businesses, farms, property and resources.

      • Ha ha, you lead with a personal attack. Let me post a deal about a coffee pod discounted by 2 cents.

Never said they were not made here, just prefer to support Australian companies not sending profits to the US. #triggered

Let me post a deal about a coffee pod discounted by 2 cents.

Hyperbole much? Any deal will do.

I'll bet my house against yours that you buy masses of products made overseas and, knowingly or unknowingly, buy and use the services of overseas companies where local alternatives exist. Holidayed OS have you have? Who do you buy your fuel from? What brands of food do you buy? How's your Amex going? #ignorance or hypocrisy?

Your comment was simplistic for many reasons. I'll leave you to work out why.

          • @[Deactivated]: Of course I do, most things are manufactured overseas. Given a choice of comparable products I choose Australian, easy. You do seem upset and very aggressive over a preference a lot of people have and generally support.

You choose a US company over an Australian one, does that not seem odd? Other Australian owned companies manufacture footballs here. Simple.

But I’ll let you ponder the strengths of buying Australian, obviously you will understand that when you work out why, or maybe you won’t. Guessing not.

Maybe grab a pod and chill :)

            • -1

@beesquared: In this case I don't choose a US/OS company over an Australian one - although I may do for many reasons, but I'm happy to support one business which has a long history in the game, makes quality products at fair prices and which supports Australian workers and pays Australian tax. I'm sure the AFL did it's homework before renewing their long association. Perhaps you should email them and ask why that is. Commercial reasons (which you yourself use to justify tour own purchases) and heritage no doubt are big contributers, Your comment that you choose Australian products where "comparable" is internet bs Mr Amex. Or is that I-only-use-Aussie-rice-and-I've-never-holidayed-OS Mr Optus?

              • @[Deactivated]: you are funny

                • @beesquared: And on the mark. Enjoy your Amex, Optus etc, no shame in it.

                  • @[Deactivated]: Glad you finally have worked that out, cheers, lets get Australian footballs in Australian rules

                    • @beesquared: You mentioned shame, obviously hypocritically.

We already have Australian footballs being used around the country. We also have a business at the forefront of major Australian issues which promotes inclusiveness, decency and good sportsmanship, among many other things.

                      • @[Deactivated]: Thanks for the fluff message from the US owners. Cheers, choose Australian. Glad you finally agree

                        • -1

@beesquared: Still don't understand that company ownership is only one small part of the picture? I'm not surprised in the least. No doubt you live in that dream world where Australian companies are using machines and technology developed here, use solely Australian owned transport, source only Australian raw materials, don't offshore profits or avoid taxes. Your version of "Choose Australia" (hollow mantra in your case as we've already established), is simplistic, jingoistic twaddle.

save even more and just buy one from kmart for $10, lol

    • Link? Lol

    • Good luck finding a leather ball at that price

  • Was anyone able to get free shipping for over $120 spend?
Wasn’t an option for me. Cheapest is XL express $5, otherwise $10 aus post.

  • I have been eyeing one off ever since I scored a ball from a Hawthorn training session.
The feel of kicking a proper ball is un like anything else.

    Thanks for this!
