Come back to me when it has HomeKit support

    • Agreed

    • Or can be tasmotised.

    • What is this HomeKit you speak of?

  • How does this compare to the Tenda or Netgear Nighthawk Mesh systems? Faster? More reliable?

    • Hey there.. This is a smart plug, not a mesh system. For example, plug in a light to this switch and you can use the app to turn it on remotely or via schedules or smarty actions. Usually have Google Home/Amazon Alex integrations. Cheers

      • Oh! Thank you! Sorry I mistakenly thought it was like a power line wifi extender!

  • When you click on the deal it says they're $4.99 each for 2 or more. Promotion offer which ends in 2.5 days.
I don't know what the postage is. Looks good value to me.

Delivery is $20 lol thats why total is $40 delivered

      • Update: I just looked at the cost including delivery to WA. It is 19.96 for four + 19.88 delivery = 39.84 total

    • +4

Postage is ~$8 for 1, $12 for 2 and $20 for 4 (NSW and VIC).

The good thing is the price, but you get what you paid for. Some owners complained about the quality control. One OZBer bought 2 from a previous deal and only 1 worked. He had to re-open the faulty one, re-solder bits.

Another down side is the security aspects. Security is a concern as information appears to be sent via plaintext to the Tenda server. Also, without the ability to communicate with the Tenda server, these plugs are basically useless.

Below is a review, and there is a follow up review on reverse engineering the protocol used.

In short, you get what you paid for.

so total paid $40 but when there is an issue you only get $5 refund for each, the shipping is not refunded.

    I won't fail for this.

If the products failed within 30 days of arrival. You can get full refund including postage. After 30 days, you still can claim warranty replacement via Tenda Australia.

isn't the retailer must not refuse to provide a warranty for 12 months and not pushing customer to the manufacture?

Who to claim a remedy from

          Products

You can claim a remedy from the retailer if the products do not meet any one or more of the consumer guarantees, with the exception of availability of spare parts and repair facilities.

The remedies you can seek from the retailer who sold you the product include a repair, replacement, or refund and in some cases compensation for damages and loss.

The retailer can’t refuse to help you by sending you to the manufacturer or importer.
