Suggestions for Chicken Burger Patties Most Similar to McDonald's/Hungry Jack's

Hi All

My teenage kids love simple chicken burgers from Maccas and HJ. With school holidays, I want to try some of these at home. Does anyone has a recommendation of which brand of chicken patties will be close to Maccas/HJ taste and from where these will be available?

Thanks

Are you looking for the best chicken burger patties, or a replica of Maccas/HJ?

  • Replica of Maccas. Sorry the title maybe confusing.

    Teenage kids? At home?

Why not introduce them to the joys of cooking; they can try different ingredients / flavours and learn how those work (or not), and it would most likely be better for them.

  • Man's looking for which burgers got the white processed chicken meat and not the grey processed chicken meat. Sorry OP been a while since my early twenties so I can't help. At one point one of the supermarket branded chicken burgers was a clone of the standard fast food chicken patty.

    • On The Menu have some good products. Their frozen burgers and rolls are not their good products.

  • You may struggle with the same issues i have with my kids.

It is the fact that they are 'buying it' rather than 'bringing it'

My teenagers would take home cooked hash browns and wrap then in baking paper to 'mimic' the fast food chains packaging sans logo's!

Even would prefer to take away eating on the way to the bus stop, rather than eating it at home.

    • They cost $2.45 each, however, a pack of 10 costs $3.

  • Use a real chicken fillet like KFC, and bread it yourself. Better than the processed muck that Jackdonalds sell. Asian grocery stores have a nice blend.

Steggles have some similar patties at colesworth, as well as some speacialty/wholesale outlets.

On a related note, the tempura nuggets from Aldi are similar to the macca's ones.

  • as long as u deep fry it instead of baking or shadow fry, any chicken nugget/patty will taste good and like maccas! and add more salt and sauce.
