Yeah nah. S20 ultra is still about $900-1k street price and that's over a year old with a lower rrp.
You'd be lucky to see this go under $1k by Christmas. Best you'll get is this price minus all the discount hoop jumping.
To be fair it is a quality phone, I've seen a few photographers swap they're travel dslr set up for a s21 ultra and none have been disappointed yet
Yeah can see the S21 ultra being a popular phone for a few years.
It's really the perfect follow up to the S20 ultra, it fixed the camera focusing issues, it's got a decent processor that isn't a power hog like the last 3 or 4 Exynos generations have been, it added more flexibility to the zoom lenses with up to native 10x zoom. There is nothing about this phone that stands out as bad to me, sure the S22U will no doubt be better, but I think the S21U will be a respectable phone for a few years yet.
@Binchicken22: Yeah well put, the only thing I have to compare it to is my last phone which is a s10 plus 1tb 12gb ram version and I absolutely loved that phone mostly for its 1tb storage but it surprised me how much better the s21 ultra is overall, the design, the way it feels in your hand and its performance. Its only faults would be features samsung has taken out from my s10+ 1tb model like dual sim and expandable storage on top of 1tb and the headphone/aux input

is a bit misleading in that not everyone will have an S20 ultra to trade in.
Still, buying a cheapo A series, trading in then not sending in the phone would probably be the best value for money given that s20 ultra's are still getting around 800-900 on marketplace.

Depends on your use case. If you plan on keeping the phone a while and take lots of pics/vides, then the 512GB makes sense, particularly since you can't add an SD card like earlier models. If it's a 1-2 year phone and you're not overly snap happy, get the 256GB.

No problems getting the code from the App, it's entering it in to https://shop.samsung.com/ that gives me the error and I tried the normal site and the Education portal.
Yea i had that issue and the samsung support said to uninstall the app and reinstall and get a new code from it
You have to add Credit Card details on Trade-In app and that code will work.

You can use it to generate the trade-in code, and not send it in.
Don't bother emailing to say you broke it, they don't care and will tell you to just keep it and ignore further automated reminders.

Iphones were creeping up the $1800 before covid hit. It wasn't long until other manufacturers followed suit.
You can blame the shortage all you want but the truth is, Apple laid foundation to outrageous prices with their sales figures. From an average consumer perspective, a $1000 msrp Android can't compete against a $1800 iphone right?
At least foldables are coming down in prices, that should at least keep a cap on single screen phone prices.
