    • Same

    • I got the same response. And here I was, thinking how clever I am by circumventing their "corporate email" check with a bit of HTML hackery.. A quick cross-check and they can exclude all the OzBargainers who had a crack at a free tenner

    Kinda SCAM

    • +1

The only scam was OP not marking it as targeted.

  • +3

    Rejected :'(

  • +2

Feel bad for the people that used their actual work Email.

    • Why?

      • because its been signed up to spam.

        • +1

If your companies enterprise email security is so poor or non-existent that it cant handle the most basic of spam emails then chances are its already gone under from multiple malware and phishing scams. Enterprise email domains get attacked hundreds if not thousands of times on the daily. O365 survey links are a drop in the ocean

          • -3

@TightTerry: except the people are sometimes to blame. not going to say where this happened but lets just say someone clicked on a phishing email and the email server got compromised.

            • +1

@xoom: Of course - but this isnt phishing. Its signing up to a mailing list to a massive billion dollar company

              • @TightTerry: i get that but those who fall for phishing emails are usually the ones signing up to stuff. ofcourse if you are discerning to what you sign up for the risk is somewhat mitigated.

        • Unsubscribe. Veeam is a highly reputable security company.

          • @thedriver: That takes you to the subscription page. There is no 'Unsubscribe' link.

            • @TilacVIP: It takes you to the Subscription Preferences page. You enter your subscribed email address and untick all the options!

              • @thedriver: Nope, @TilacVIP is right. It forces you to choose at least 1 tickbox.

    • +2

Always use sub-addressing (supported by Gmail/GSuite, MS 365) or email aliases for this reason when completing signups like this. That way you can just block all incoming mail intended for that sub-address.

      Eg. [email protected]

      • +1

        eg barry +veeam.survey@g mail.com
might be a better choice too. That way you know who veeam gave your email too when you receive email to that address from other companies.

        • Yep, that's what I meant to type and pretty much exactly how I did it myself :)

      • I use separate Yahoo aliases - 373 so far!

  • Rejected as well.

  • No soup for me, got the same email many have posted above :(

  • +1

I mean - im not really surprised, it was always going to happen. Someone sent out a link to the masses and people were expecting them to have an endless supply of Amazon gift cards.

  • +3

    Scammers

    • +3

OP who posted this deal should have included the T&C's and marked this deal as targeted so people didn't waste their time.

You win some and you lose some. On to the next deal.

  • -4

I got the original email prior to it being posted on OzBargain and successfully got the voucher.

    • Sucked in to the neggers. I'm a Veeam partner so I get various promotional offers from my account manager all the time. They're not supposed to be shared externally to people who aren't eligible.

This deal is an excellent example of why that's the case. I mean the fact that you have to do a workaround to access the page since they try to block deals sites should be blatantly obvious that you're not the intended recipient.

If I was wrong you all would have got the voucher 😜

      • +1

The "neggers" are actually allowed to neg the deal as it isn't a deal. Why say sucked in?

        • +2

It was directed at the neggers on my comments. If what I said was wrong then where is their Amazon credit? But hey I appreciate the attention.

Negging the deal is perfectly valid no arguments there.

Perhaps it will help more people realise that these internal promotions aren't intended to be shared on deal platforms and Veeam actively try to prevent it with the redirection happening. The fault isn't entirely on Veeam for that reason alone if you're bypassing the mechanisms to prevent you from signing up since you're not eligible.

  • Just got an email saying I won't receive a voucher :(

  • +5

I will make sure to shit talk this company at every opportunity.

    • Lol, gold.

      • +2

me too - i got the tshirt though - but now blocked the email and marked as spam

        • me 3

        • -1

So you got a freebie already, you (possibly) didn't untick the optional 'receive promotional e-mails' box, you didn't unsubscribe - but you are still going to talk badly about them.
          Nice.

    • +2

Ha, it's not really Veeam's fault. The original poster posted a link that was meant for invitation only.

      • Most are too stupid to realise that though. I mean why else would they try to prevent you from accessing the page from various deal sites?

      • Then it should have been set up to reject the survey without an invite link. Not accept all the survey answers, create an account, collect info, then reject.

Just another dirty and deceptive way of data collection.

        • +1

Not really - Veeam did not distribute the link to OzBargain.
Take some responsibility for your own life!

I will make sure to punish veeam on AU Trust Pilot.

      same here today!

VEEAM = SPAM/ SCAM! Waste of time!

  • +7

    F***k you Veeam

  • +3

They got the survey result without spending a penny :)

  • +7

Folks, please mark their email as spam so their server reputation goes down.

    • +1

      Smart. do this!

    • This is not really Veeam's fault. The original poster of this "deal" posted a link that was meant for invitation only.
Just unsubscribe from the emails. Veeam is a highly reputable security company and will remove you from their list.
And marking the email as Spam will very much depend on what mail client and provider you are using as to the impact.

      • And marking the email as Spam will very much depend on what mail client and provider you are using as to the impact.

If you’re on any mail host that uses the SpamRL block lists (Microsoft is one that comes to mind) then it’s a pain to deal with if a bunch of users mark your emails as spam. Some of those block lists set a really low bar for blacklisting.

  • got rejected :(

  • Rejected by Veeam, and still no sign of the RC car…

  • +6

Any new Veeam deal will be surely be negged in ozb. They had made a grave mistake.

  • +1

I wrote my position as CIO of company. And also mentioned that we are looking for a back up product. I didn’t get the above rejection email yet. Wondering if they will send me $10 voucher and then they call me with sales pitch

    • I have a partner agreement with Veeam and I got rejected!

    • +1

      Edit: Got the rejection now

  • +1

Received an email informing that I am not eligible to receive the voucher.

  • I'm just happy that I got the $10 ubereats voucher from a previous post.

  • +4

I hope the veeam posts will deleted in future. They got our details and survey but won’t give anyone the 10$.

  • Us:
Veeam: I see this as an absolute win!

  • Scammmmmm

Not even an unsubscribe link in the email. Some jerk's written it too. No need to say 'clearly' jerks. Also I used my business email address which is a tech site so wtf? Is ANYONE eligible??

    • Use this link to unsubscribe - if you are even subscribed to anything in the first place…
      https://go.veeam.com/subscription-preferences.html?ad=email-…

      • You are subscribed to something, I got a marketing email this morning, which would have been fine if I got the voucher. No voucher = no marketing emails, instead they're trying to have it both ways, no voucher and marketing emails, and that's why I am negging this.

        • The deal definitely deserves a neg vote… It's not a deal.
But nor is it Veeam's fault that 6000+ people signed up from OzBargain. Veeam didn't post the link to OzB.

  • Email from Veeam:

It is stated clearly in our Terms & Conditions that this survey offer is solely available to the direct and intended recipients who had received an invitation from Veeam.

    • Yeah I received the email a while back. Though I notice you're a Veeam partner too so maybe it depends how much business or what level partner you are?

  • got the email
