ASUS Radeon RX 6800 XT TUF Gaming OC 16GB Video Card $1599 + Delivery @ BPC Tech

470

(They jacked up the price by $100 now, marking this as expired)

First launch price graphic card I see for a while. This is mid to high end AIB card, not the cheapest 6800 XT pricing, but unlike the burning Gigabyte cards, it runs cooler than most AIB cards, should still worth the money IMO.
For people who want to mine eth, this is not the most efficient current gen AMD card due to AMD hardware limits memory clock, so please leave this card to gamers.

Damn good price, would have gotten this if I didn’t get my EVGA 3070ti
This card is so much better

    • Meanwhile I am waiting to see if there are any good integrations with FSR to make the RT perfomance a bit playable. If that does not happen in a few months, I will probably end up with a 3080 (assuming prices come down). Not that RTX/DLSS is making so much difference in todays games, but if I buy the card, I will use it for atleast 3 years, by then a lot of games will be RT focused.

      • Why not upgrade when more games are RT focused and the next gen cards are out?

        • +5

Cause that would make sense and people love marketing hyperbole.

  • +17

Still too expensive. I want the real MSRP.

    • -1

this is close to MSRP, maybe $1400 will the lowest - wont drop below that

    • +1

Be aware, this is launch price. 6800 and 6800 XT are a bit overpriced, and Asus TUF is always on the pricy side, with premium board components and cooling. This is somewhat close to 3080 performance on non RTX benchmark (don't flaming me on this)

      • +1

It's better than the 3080 now with software updates that have gone out.

      • +1

That depends on the resolution. If you are a high refresh rate gamer on a 1080/1440P this would still be better, plus more vram is a plus (assuming RTX does not interest you much).

        • Agreed, on another note, I think Nvidias 3080 and 3090 Gddr6x design is a bit flawed, many cards have very Vram high temperature, make me worry about longevity

          • @s20525xxx: It's not the vram, it's the shitty thermal pads. Replaced mine and memory temps dropped from 110 to max 90

      • +2

Who cares what the launch price was, it was done so in the midst of massive price inflation, landing at a 60% premium over base MSRP.

Is this a sign of things getting cheaper? Yes.

        Is it acceptable? No.

bpc has been treating us well with prices recently

    • +11

They read your comment and then jacked it up $100

  • Anyone know what the launch pricing of these cards were?

I'm looking to buy a 6800XT once they get back to launch pricing in Australia (they won't get to RRP until next gen unfortunately)
If anyone knows what the Red Devil 6800XT was selling for at launch that would be awesome too, because that's my ideal card.

    • +1

You might want to look at hardware unboxed past video on Red Devil 6800 XT card. I think they mentioned price there.

    • +4

The Red Devil 6800XT at launch was around $1250 at PCCG iirc.

When I bought it in January , it was already $1399 for the non-Limited edition.

      • +5

$1250, what a price! Currently at $1799. If it gets under $1500 again for the red devil I'll buy into this gen. God the tech market sucks.

        • +2

Go back one step. The cryptocurrency market sucks!

    • Red Devil and Sapphire Nitro SE were both around 1399 at launch. I was watching stock of both and these were the cheapest prices I saw. The red dragon had a few drops for 12xxish maybe that is what Hellcrusher is recalling.

      • +1

I'm certain the Red Devil 6800xt was $1249 at launch and the Limited edition was $1299.

The Red Dragon was only $1199 or $1149 at launch.

I was monitoring stock in the Discord channel and saw the $1299 LE Red Devil go OOS within seconds right before my eyes :(

    • +5

We just have to agree to disagree

    • +5

Go look at the HU review, premium materials all around. Really good performance. Not far off the Merc and trading blows with the Red Devil / Nitro etc

        • +5

I'll happily listen to him over you.

He has actual figures and proof about any claims he makes. The numbers are there.

Not just vague baseless internet comments.

          • -5

@Oxxy: None of what I said is baseless

Tuf is the bottom model in asus line-up

Tuf is an msrp card, (scorptec raffle for 3080 ti prize was a tuf)

Steve doesn't know what he's talking about, all his 3080 reviews on the various model that I own is inaccurate

            • +1

@ln28909: Asus Dual, KO, Phoenix are their low end card, they did bother to make a low end 6800 XT doesn't mean TUF is their low end card

              • -4

@s20525xxx: because those are below low end, 2 fans model generally isn't sufficient cooling for high end cards this generation

also, you do know, the Asus KO and Asus Tuf have the exact same pcb in gpu model that asus make both like 3070 right?

                • @ln28909: That's why I was saying we have to agree to disagree, u r in ur in your own mind chamber and impossible to be persuaded. Even PCB are the same, there are still many other aspect of a graphic cards. Please check other reviews, other than HU.

    • +2

I think you confused their graphic card line up with laptop line up. The TUF laptop is somewhat low end, but graphic card has not only premium cooling, bit also semi custom board design.

  • +16

    Just hold and wait.

    • +1

      Yep, waiting for near $1K.

      • you'll be waiting till they are run out stock…

    • ..for <aud$1500 ti (oh..3080)

    • +7

      Yep, Don't lose perspective guys.

$1500 was a whole mid-to-higher-end gaming PC, for decades, up until about a year ago.

This insane once-in-a-lifetime GPU shortage won't last forever and is already starting to ease.

  • +3

    Gone up $100?

    • Wow, cheeky. They realised it's much cheaper then other retailer

    • +3

I was debating on pulling the trigger but definately not going to now. HOLD!

  • +3

6600XT is going to release at next month.
The Performance is close to 3060ti, and MSRP is around 499 AUD.
Let's see or hold for 40 series.

    • Be aware, AMD partner's cards are quite a bit more expensive than reference card, unlike Nvidia.

  • +1

Still stings I passed up 6800XT at launch because I didn't want to spend $1100 on a gpu loll

  • You can mark it as expired yourself OP.

    • Done thx :)

  • +5

My 1080TI still goes harder. You better believe I want negs.

  • The name of the site has bargain so this is certainly not it. No thanks!!!

  • Don't forgot, this is the price of the 6900XT albeit reference not 6800 XT.
