Simply soak the bandana in water for up to 5 minutes. These cooling bandanas are filled with special non-toxic polymer crystals that will stay cool for several hours and promote a highly effective evaporative cooling action, as well as deliver cooling sensations to pulse points and other blood vessels close to your dog’s skin.

Awesome that your website makes you choose a location as either Melbourne or Australia.
To be fair to Melbourne though I think Brisbane should also be a choice.

Dogs cool themselves by cooling down their stomach area, like lying on cool grass or some water, not by cooling their heads…

    • Dogs cool themselves by releasing heat from their tongue/panting

Don't be so silly. Everyone knows that dogs cool down by sticking their head out of the car window.

Dogs cool down by getting into a bun.

my dog cools down by trying to take a sip of water from the pond, then i sneak up behind him and push him in then run for my life while i have a wet angry dog chaseing me. i always lose :(

i use the dog cooling matts for the old boy and they work really well, i actually went and got one for myself. tuggerah pet store has them for $20 clearance save $30 or large for $25 save $50.

they like when i pat their head with a cold wet cloth on a hot day so the bandana should be really good.

this product upset me and then your story cheered me up again.

  • why not wrap your dog in a wet towel…. or even better throw them in the water!

  • I just wish I could have a doggy :(

  • Quite fashionable and favoured by doggy style aficionados.

  • I bought a human version of this last summer in Japan, and it didn't work. The outside cools slightly while the heat gets trapped next to my neck, making me hotter than if I weren't wearing it.

    • It shouldn't be doing that. I've found the work quite well. For dogs though, I suspect they're just a gimmick, as they don't cool themselves through the neck.

    • Yeah I've tried the human version and I think they work. The gel does feel cool. They are a bitch to dry off though, it takes days for the crystals to harden again.

  • I'm buying one of these as I have a beagle that really feels the heat, so anything that might help him out a bit is ok by me. I usually put a wet towel on him but he moves and it falls off so at least this won't have that problem.

  • When its really hot we just wrap a wet cloth around our little guy (and just pin it together so it stays). Whenever he is hot he just lies on the tiles or his favourite place is in the corner of my clothes cupboard, where we actually have one of his beds in there. Its quite surprising how cool it is in there, they always find the best places!
