  • Good price for Shuggie. Good book if you're into Glaswegian Lit

  • I dont know why people buy books new. I found Shuggie for $2.50 at the second hand book store near my house in near new condition. I buy most of my books this way.

The obvious answer is someone has to buy it new, read it and donate it so it can be picked up for $2.50.
Some people like new things, sometimes it's a gift, sometimes people cbf waiting or stalking throw out bins in the hope a good book will end up there. Sometimes a book will never end up there as the print run is low.

I have a child and a wish to bequeath her a broad library of tomes to help form both a vocabulary of bombastic eloquence and a voracious mind full of wonderment and possibility.

But I suppose that buying second hand books is cool too. If you don't have a library card…

As always, thanks Lysander. I trust your hound is travelling well…

      • Hound is good, seems to be very happy with more walks and attention. ;-) Thank you for asking.

    • Just imagine where the hands of the previous owner could have been before touching the book and its pages?????
Hard to disinfect every page of a book. ;-)
