Seems like a great price given toyshops are selling it for around $90 (e.g. https://mytoyworld.com.au/collections/meccano/products/mecca…) and Kogan $80

Not free delivery because it’s from Amazon US.
Has to be greater than $49 to be free Prime delivery from US

  • Is this a full toy or a build-it-yourself?

Fun to put together, but not for playing. It falls apart any time my son plays with it, even if we tighten the screws.

      Build it yourself scenario.

Avoid it like the plague. Built one with my son. Horribly designed. You are forced to unscrew part of the build to get into the battery compartment. It will be going to the donation pile.

  • Plastic not metal.

    • I had meccano when I was a kid, all steel. Yeah now they’re plastic unfortunately. I think there are competitors that are steel, can’t remember who of the top of my head.

Is funny how companies reduce the quality of their product, probably for profit reasons. Then they get competitors who outdo them and they lose market. At least Lego hasn’t changed in all that time, they are just as good quality as when I was young. If you ignore all that bionicle and Hollywood movie franchise stuff. Technics is where it’s at.

  • going by the reviews it appears the Toy brand name is misleading!

It said there was three left in stock. I bought two and there's still three left in stock.

If assembly persists after 24 hrs, seek medical advice.

  • Got one and yes the screw driver is very tight but you can file it down a little to make it easier to get in and out of the bolts.

When putting it together you need to make sure the nuts fit into the piece you putting together (there are higher bits on the nuts that fit into the long pieces) and screw tight. If you do this is stays together just fine (better than expected and better than other building toys e.g. Lego).
Not perfect but great for the price.
