[6700 XT] PowerColor Hellhound or Sapphire Nitro+?

I'm picking a 6700 XT to replace the RX 5700 I sold but the reviews for them as far as thermals go are so mixed I'm having a hard time choosing. The Sapphire Nitro+ is $1084 (inc. shipping) at BPC and the PowerColor Hellhound is $1114 (inc. shipping) at PCCG. Hardware Unboxed shows the Nitro+ having a pretty bad hotspot temperature at stock compared to the Hellhound (90c is still in spec but I'm a pretty avid overclocker so I'd prefer lower temps), but they even out when 40dBa noise normalized which just seems odd considering they both spin similar speeds stock according to Techpowerup. The Hellhound seems to be more consistent with good thermal performance than the Nitro+ across reviews though, so I'm just wondering if it's worth another $30 really.

  • Consider it this way: how long will you keep the card? Is an extra $30 over X years a bad investment?

  • Make the decision on who has the better Warranty/RMA/Repair service.

  • +1

It's literally $30, the next time you're planning to eat out, just skip it and stay at home instead and you'll have paid for your upgrade.

    • That's true. The turning of 100s really plays a tough mental game lol.

  • Sapphire have been making cards longer than PowerColor
I love Sapphire cards. I don't see the thermals as bad here

I would pick the Sapphire card in a heartbeat.
I will get the 6800XT nitro when the prices come down,
I am not going to pay $1800AUD for a $880USD card
