are these just general rechargable speakers that plug into a 3.5mm headphone socket, but they've added ipad to be sexy? Or can they only be used with the ipad?

It's the sort of thing I'd like to use with my non-ipad tab

By looking at the picture, one would assume that you are correct that it can be connected to any tablet or any device which has a 3.5mm audio out.

      • thanks guys, then this is for me!

        • Yep you can use it with other things no dramas. Things like portable DVD players, MP3 players etc.

  • Interesting product but to me if I want something louder than the built in speaker I plug it into a stereo.
If I want something louder and portable I use headphones.

    • Im going to pick one up for travelling, I hate lying in bed in hotels using headphones

    • Yeah interesting point, all our research and studies showed that some people will do what you have suggested, but then other people want something small, simple that can be carried around with them. So it's really a case of different people, different usage scenarios. Our UE earphone range is compatible with iPad & we also have our Bluetooth headsets that can be used too.

Tempted… though my mind is telling wait and see what LTS comes back with….

  • first question that popped into my head is
    "what will it sounds like?"

Tiny speakers normally gives tiny sound
    how powerful is it?

    • Well it's not a home theatre system that's for sure, but it's a big step up from the built in speakers that's for sure.

Here is how our range lines up for iPad (but these can be used on Android, laptops etc too)
      Tablet Speaker
      Wireless Speaker
      Mini Boombox

  • I like the wireless speaker

interestingly the wireless speaker is shaped like a pillow
question: is the speaker strong enough to double as a pillow? (with cover)

    • you could try…but be careful not to hurt your head ;-)

      • oh don't worry.
I will use a blanket on it.
the vibration from the speaker will make for a richer experience.
        it is all worth it.

        • ok cool
