COUNTDOWN

We're on the countdown to the end of lockdown in Sydney!

To prepare, we're doing a month-long discount on all our coffee.
But this time, with a slight twist.
Drum roll, please.

Each day, the percentage we're discounting will equal the days we have left to the end of lockdown. That means we're doing 30% off today with 30 days left of lockdown.

The discount will finish on the 28th of August, with a 1% discount.

Type COUNTDOWN in the discount code at checkout. Discount applies Australia-wide. No minimum spend.

The discount is nice, but shipping is quite high, so in the end it's not much of a bargain (at least for me).

    • We have free shipping for orders over $50 to Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne metro areas. :)

      • $50 is a lot of coffee - but might suit bigger families perhaps.

        • Yes, I understand that! If you do want to take advantage of the discount now, you can buy a couple of smaller bags to freeze and use at a later date! :)

        • Hi again!

I'm not sure where you are located, but we have just added a new COVID-safe click and collect option which is free, if that works better for you!

Your marketing department need to be fired. This is one of the most idiotic promos ever.

Thank you for your feedback! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but we'll take that on board.

The longer you think about it, the less the discount!

I applaud the optimism of this promotion - a 30 day countdown to the end of lockdown? Sure it will only be 30 days!

    • We can dream! We may update the promotion if it extends. :)

    • Just assume the lock down will go on for 2 months which would probably be the case and start with 60% off

We are following the guidelines carefully. :)

are these roasted to order? i want fresh.

    • Hello! Yes, they are roasted to order. :)

    Just ordered!

Personally, I think it's a good deal, particularly if you do order enough to hit the free shipping.

I got three blends that I know my wife and I will both enjoy, plus the Panama Geisha just for me. I'll probably freeze at least one of the blends, and let the Geisha mature a bit before treating myself to that one.

All up, that cost $54 - considering that includes the Geisha in there, it's a hell of deal. I'd normally wind up paying close to $50 for a kilo of quality beans from Coffee Alchemy, but they're out of my LGA, so I'm branching out with online orders.

@tonig1 - do you have any temp suggestions for the espresso-roasted Geisha? I'll be putting it through my lever machine, but I can control the boiler pressure/temp to fine tune the flavour profile.

    • Thank you so much!

We greatly appreciate that, and we really hope you enjoy the coffee. :)

The Panama Geisha is my personal favourite. I'm excited to hear what you think of it.

      Yes, I do. I recommend 92 or 93 degrees.

    • i only order what i can use in a week, i wouldn't freeze it.

When beans are roasted, they become porous — like little sponges — so it’s important to store them away from heat, light, moisture, and air.

Don’t put your coffee in the freezer — the moisture molecules in the coffee beans will freeze and expand, causing tiny hairline fractures in the beans' structure. The air in the fractures will become stale and result in a vastly disappointing cup later.

coffee, once roasted, is fresh for seven to 10 days maximum.

        Hey there!

Thank you for taking the time to write this comment. I'd love to see where you've found this research.

From our research, freezing the beans does not change their structure. You just need to be careful with how you pack it away.

        Thanks again!

        Toni
