[PS4] Resident Evil 3 $9.95 + Delivery ($0 C&C/in-Store) @ EB Games

Amazing game thats not very long. Multi-player sucks.

But $10 for 7 to 8 hours of good game is good value.

At $10 beats a Jill sandwich hands down

    • Even longer if you go for collectibles and 100%.

      • +1

So 7 to 8 for average player

        • So approx $1.25 an hour :P

      • Took me 12-14 hours to get the Platinum trophy.
I didn't touch the seperate Resistance multiplayer component, but I guess there could be some additional value there.

Sorry, being google lazy, but is it this one and RE2 that they have remade with the new over the shoulder controls? I've always wanted to get in the series, but found the fixed camera too much of a headache, so excited to give the new versions a try.

    • +3

      Yes, exactly

    • +2

Yes they are but this RE3 remake was a disappointment. It's still worth $10 to play through after doing the RE2 remake but it's very short and the game is like 70% cutscenes. RE2 remake however is fantastic!

Honestly, it's a fun, short game if you're in the mood for an experience that doesn't require dozens of hours of investment. However, RE2 Remake is probably the better of the two by far.

Sometimes, shorter burst games are more fun, I find, especially with the overload of open-world or GaaS multiplayer shooters not respecting your personal time with bullshit amounts of grind.

Fantastic game for a tenner. Paid much more than that and was still satisfied. Just a shame it wasn't as robust and long as RE2 Remake. It drops a lot of stuff from the original RE3.

  • +1

For those wondering why this game is particularly short, it is because it's not supposed to be a mainline game. Code Veronica was supposed to be RE3 and RE3 was just going to be called RE:Nemesis. Sony just paid extra bux to keep the mainline on their consoles instead of the (at the time) fresh and exciting Dreamcast.

Now people can move on from its length and just enjoy it as a good game. It's excellent value..!

    • Is code Veronica good?

      • It's a great game, but hasn't aged well. If you didn't grow up playing these older games, or if you struggle with older titles, then you may not enjoy it.

This argument just doesn't really work, even if the original RE3 is meant to be more a side title, RE3make actually removes sections from the original, which compared to the RE2 remake which includes basically every section from the original game significantly expanded, along with entirely new sections, RE3make is pretty disappointing in comparison, especially when RE3make was the same 60 dollars at release.

However for 10 bucks, RE3make is definitely worth it.

Sony had nothing to do with the changes and here is a full explanation of why the game went from spin-off to mainline game:

  • How does it compares with RE4?

    • +2

I never liked RE4 even though it seems to really resonate well with fans. RE3 original/remake is a lot of fun.

RE stopped feeling like RE after RE3 and Code Veronica to be honest, so I lost a bit of interest. Don't get me started with the newer FPV, could never get into them.

    • It doesn't. 😅

  • +1

No stock anywhere near me, so got it delivered - $17 is still a good price.

  • Good game for some quick shooting fun and some puzzles here and there.

    Much shorter game than RE2.

The sequences with nemesis are no where as stress inducing and fun as the forever present danger of Mr X

  • has amazon matched yet?
    cos of lockdowns

    • +1

How will they price match something they have no stock of?

  • Delivery is $14.95… yeah na.
