  • Is this the best bang for your buck one you can get for around the $50 mark?

The LS-1S adds continuous measurement and slightly bigger battery or LS-P which also adds angle/Pythagorean measurement, can be had for a little more.

But if you just want to do a basic measurement this will do fine. To be honest, they are a bit small too be practical for anything than occasional use.

I have one of something that looks the same. For convenience and good accuracy (probably only 98 or 99 percent accurate) it's good for me.
Battery seems to die over some weeks of not being used.

      • Oh yeah. Mines been in the box for 6+ months…….just took it out and sure enough battery is flat. Just plugged it in to recharge.
Note to self: Don't do any adHoc measuring…….plan ahead in advance to recharge :-)

  • Just search OZB for "ATuMan LS-1" and past deals for lots of comments and answers. I have one and does the job for quick measurements long and short BUT I am not a builder that requires exact "mm" distance. Its not far off though.

  • does this have to measure to the wall? If in a open space, would it work?

Say something like to measure one end of the sofa to the other end of the sofa not touching the wall?

    • Yes.

      • How though?

        • …just aim the laser to end of couch or if needed, stick a piece of paper at the end to point to. To be honest, perhaps I am not understanding your exact need. Explain in more detail.

        • The laser has to bounce off the thing you're measuring. Time of flight and all that jazz for calculations.

Atuman Laser Rangefinder LS-P 40m Intelligent Rechargeable Digital High Precision Global Version

    Get 10 off first order.

    • Mmm. But is more expensive and New Customers only i.e. $10 off first order which would bring it down to $19.36. Why buy there when you can buy here as an existing or new customer?

    • Total should be greater than $100.00 to get $10 off.

  • Whats the max range for this / would it be any good for rangefinding in a hunting scenario?
