  • How does the 5 years parts and labour warranty work?

    • Develop an issue. Ring Samsung Australia. They will get an authorised agent to turn up to fix.

    • How common is it for a split system to fail in 5 years? (or 10)
They seem to be extremely reliable, unless installed badly and leak.

  • Any one know what else would you need to go with the Air con? As in the external unit or something?

    • i am assuming that is included..

    • +1

Insulated pipes and wiring are not included, but are part of the install fee.
      That's about it.

  • nvm, resolved

  • Check out the current 'normal' Samsung over the top price here: https://www.samsung.com/au/air-conditioners/wall-mount/ar18t…

    • Not sure why I'm getting it a greatly cheaper price.

      8kw for cheaper than a 5kw

They are tricky……. that's only for the outdoor unit. I fell for it too when I first looked at the Samsung site.

You have to look at the indoor unit part number and that includes the outdoor unit as well.

        • Ah. Didn't see that. Good spotting.

        • Yiwu that's why they have not included the full specs of the overall system

  • What's the average cost to get an aircon similar to these installed these days?

    • +1

Back to back standard install goes for $500-$800 I assume

  • This or the Kelvinator… This bring made by polyair is ok I guess…

  • Samsung probably has the worst reputation for tradie support and after sales. Had 2 or 3 tradies tell me this when I was getting a system installed.

    • Yeah I heard the same for their ducted systems…

  • +1

    cooling only

    • Well spotted! I'm still very happy with my 2.5/3.2 Kelvinators for $550ea after $100 cash back. Brilliant units… easy to install, super effective and quiet to boot.

      • where did u buy and do they have cash back now?

        • Cashback offer only lasted a month or two late last year however they seem to have these offers once or twice a year so keep a look out. Just did a quick search and found them on eBay for $649 + postage however if you have eBay plus you can get them for $616.55 and if you're local (Brisbane) you can click & collect.

          • @SteveAndBelle: Thanks mate. how are they and did u configure wifi and using mobile app?

            • @manchanahari: Yeah, they're all great and I highly recommend them. I have two previous model, non-WiFi Kelvinators plus three of the newer WiFi model (as per the link above) but they're basically identical just with the newer model including a WiFi dongle hanging off the back of the door near the LED display. All super cheap to purchase, all easy to install and all have been working flawlessly fornthe last 2-3 years. I haven't bothered to use the WiFi adaptor as I don't need that functionality. Takes a few minutes to cool or warm the rooms they're in so I don't need to run them when I'm not home or setup automation BS.

    • Product webpage seems to suggest both cooling & heating capable.

  • I'm after 3 units (Preferably Panasonic) in 3.5Kw, 5kw and 7.1Kw but with Reverse cycle in Melbourne. My wait will go on :(

    • Why Panasonic? I am looking for something as well and deciding on brand
