FYI the absolute version comes with the soft roller, as well as some other additional small attachments, this one doesn't (if that's important to you).

So the deal on the V8 Absolute for $70 less might be a better deal for some.

  • Have had mine for 2 years, brought it over from the US. Not sure what the warranty situation is with this one though.

Great vaccum, use it every other day.

every other day??? that seems to be a messy house

Don't Vacc shame! I use a V6 multiple times a day, it's replaced the dustpan and broom. Everyone's house and cleaning patterns are different.

Have dogs. It would be a messy house otherwise if I didn't vac every other day

This is a 5 year old model, and has been cheaper recently (without having to lower your standards to shop at Kogan too). You can even find the V10 for not much more sometimes.

Honestly, you get better performance and more features for less $$$ with the Dreame V10 or Xiaomi Mi G10.

At least with buying a Dyson, you’re supporting the company that invented the technology and did the innovation, not just copied it.

      • +2

Don't kid yourself - you're mostly just supporting a few executives to get a fatter paycheque. Dyson hasn't actually innovated since the original cyclonic system. $1500 for a top end vacuum is just price gouging.

    • Good suggestion, when/if my Dyson dies (past a simple battery replacement), I'll likely buy a Xiaomi vac.

      • Be aware that older models go EOL and then you can't get batteries for them any more… Usually around the age the batteries start to die.

I'd recommend getting a newer vacuum if you have an older model like a V6 or V7 - the extra power, features and battery life is definitely worth it.

        • I’ve had my V6 since 2014 and its still going strong. Replaced battery twice including one last year. Bought original replacement battery first time from Dyson and then an after market one off Amazon the second time. Works like new each time. Plenty of replacement battery options out there. I keep hoping jt dies so i have an excuse to upgrade to v10/11 but it just keeps going.

    • Sorry but my experience with Xiaomi products ( Redme phones, Dreame vaccum, shaver, security camera etc) has been consistently bad. So I stopped buying them.

I have this V10 international version and it's awesome. The charger works just fine, just get an adapter. Even though it's US plug, it supports higher voltages. They give additional AU spec charger but you can't plug it in to the wall mount. It's a smaller vacuum than the standard V10 but it's as strong and it's perfect for a small apartment. I use it in carpeted 2 bedroom apt and never felt I need a bigger unit, especially since it's quite light. An yeah, I agree with some above, stop buying shitty Chinese knock offs.

  • Even better deal with the Klarna Promotion.

    How's warranty?

    • These are grey imports, so you'd have to deal with Kogan, not Dyson… And good luck with that.

      • Contacted Dyson AU and they said they can transfer / register overseas models for warranty
