Would be nice if it was 2 in 1. IE have the actual business info on the card and have the ability for NFC.

Hi KoiPanda! I can make this happen for you as a custom order if you'd like - this is coming out as phase 2 of the project but I can make this happen if you'd like?
      Cheers,
      Patrick

      • How/ where do I get into context for this custom order?

Would like one for my business

  • +6

Why can't you just tap the info onto the other phone using your own phone?

    • Hi JV, Currently not all phones have this capability and for the purposes of business networking events etc. we believe this empowers people to simply share their information with 1 tap in social settings, making the contact transfer process seamless.

      • +1

for the purposes of business networking events etc

I believe they are more likely to remember to take their phone with them, than an NFC Business Card…

  • Very interested in this - OP are these cards customisable (design)? Are we able to put a QR code for people who don’t have NFC enabled by default?

    • Hi SlifSlif, yep sure can - send me a PM or via contact form on the website and we can do custom orders.
      Cheers,
      Patrick

Wait, so for whom are these business cards for? They are branded nffti but not personalised?

If they're not personalised why can I just spend that money on a 20 pack of completely blank cards with the same functionality?

    • Hi TheRealCJ,
NFFTI is the brand and our launch range of NFC cards feature our sleek matte black livery as an alternative to the standard white NFC Cards, furthermore our cards feature the premium NFC216 technology and we also offer support and complimentary replacements if anything goes wrong in the first 12 months.
We can also offer branded cards, although have only just launched so at this stage on the website only have our launch livery available.
If you'd like to order personalised cards, please send me a DM or a contact card and we can organise this.
      Cheers,
      Patrick

Buy the cards, or better yet, buy some stickers and attach to your normal business cards.

      • Did that myself costed $8 for 20 cards to just stick on. No value add for paying more than that unless there’s services after the sticker…

        • Hi @mskeggs and @iwantaphone , totally get your point - this is what I was doing previously as I'm a big fan of the power of NFC although created this as a convenient way to share details with customers etc and totally understand there are cheaper options out there.
          Cheers!

          • @patrickblacker: I think you will find plenty of buyers if you can custom print your cards, even when there are cheaper options.
For a lot of people who value business card culture, having a lovely dye sub printed card that shares their details will be desirable.

        • I kinda agree but I think many people will like having custom cards with NFC built in esp if the cost isn't crazy. Depending on your preference/presentation I guess.

          • @Clarky77: Have just listed it on the website @mskeggs and @clarky77 - won't be a fully automated design process for now but we're nice and quick! Can find them here https://www.nffti.com/collections/all with OZBARGAIN25 still valid. Available in packs of 5 and 10 retail, more can be ordered at a discounted rate via contact form and a quote.

  • I look forward to seeing these available with customised printing and QR codes could be a great option as someone has already mentioned.Out of interest how much would you anticipate that costing let's say for both a few cards and again for 10+?

    • second this

Hi Clarky77, have just uploaded a 5 and 10 pack of customised cards to the website. Will be 5 Customised Cards for $129.95 and 10 for $199.95, will work to get this price down in partnership with our supplied over time. The OZBARGAIN25 applies here too :)
Our design team will reach out once ordered.

      • Patrick,

Do you have an ABN? Your store isn't on a .com.au domain and your website, http://blacker.media/ is just a placeholder page with no business details.

        • Hi Scrimshaw, yep do have an ABN, am a sole trader usually running a social media management / content creation business.

        • +2

And quite a bit of errors on the website.

          1) The links under Quick Links are mapped incorrectly (Contact Us links to Privacy, Navigation links to Contact Us).
          2) Privacy page has a lot of [[Insert xxxxxxxxx]] texts… looks like a poorly done copy and paste.

My suggestion, proof read the website if you need your customers to do online payment through the website. Personally i would never trust the payment system for a website that is so careless.

          • @muddrex: Hi Muddrex, thanks for the feedback - am new to developing my own site and getting all of this sorted, have rectified it now and added paypal etc.
            Cheers,
            Patrick

            • @patrickblacker: BTW, I really like the idea and I think it can definitely grow into something if executed properly. Which is why it is important to ensure you don't fail because of carelessness, especially in this world of online scams, you don't want to cast any doubts to your potential customers.

              • @muddrex: Thanks mate - yep totally agree with you, can promise I'm 100% legit but now implementing all policies and going to provide a FAQ section and returns addresses / contact addresses to give customer's 100% confidence.

          • @muddrex: Yes definitely worth putting in a couple hours to clean the site up a bit & provide more than a post box, email address.
I understand if you are working from home and basically getting these from a supplier and drop shipping or re-shipping not wanting to give out that info but at least let the moderators here have that info so they can assure us a little more.
Anyway just my 2c, i look forward to seeing how this looks once you've developed your site a little more and we can upload/edit images there. Good Luck

            • @Clarky77: Thanks so much Clarky77! Yep working on it now, just a COVID pivot and probably should have spent a bit more time refining before going live, all shared with moderators and ABN on the website!

    • I think the feedback OP is getting from here is probably valuable enough to give those who provided the feedbacks a free card :P

  • Will this product really "…save the environment…" as claimed?

    • Hi GG57, for us it's all about reducing the amount of business cards produced, we're simply referring to 'help' in saving the environment by cutting down on the number of consumables produced.

      • Maybe it is in the language used, but there is a difference between "help in saving the environment" versus a definitive statement "Save the environment…".

I can see a potential reduction in paper-based business cards, but also an increase in the production of cards (plastic?) and NFC tags.
As jv stated above, using an existing device (such as an existing mobile device) with an existing solution (QR code?) would result in the information exchange without any additional 'consumables'. I found this article with a very quick search, that suggests there are alternate digital solutions (with additional functionality beyond your product):
        https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-share-your-busin…

        • Yep, agreed, have amended to "Assist in saving the environment by reducing high numbers of physical business cards"

      • +1

for us it's all about reducing the amount of business cards produced

Then ditch the cards and just use your phone…

  • I think the idea is cool but if a normal business card can be put in someone's wallet and tell them my name, company, number, etc. instantly, and this can do that but they have to have a phone and internet and a phone that can do NFC at that, but this costs a bunch more, I don't see the appeal, sorry.

Like if you had them be branded like a normal business card but you could tap it to your phone or whatever and it loaded some files or something idk, that would be hella cool, but like, the point of a business card is to give someone your info in a super quick and practical way and this is just neither of those.

If this was Shark Tank I might invest. But as an individual, I'd be waiting out for the next stage.

    • Hi There! Totally agree with you, this is phase one before we look to launch an in-built customisation platform - we do offer customisation on cards like a normal business card but the minimum MOQ is 5 and get your perspective. I'm a big fan of NFC and hoping this eventually become the norm for business card! This can also share URL's etc. but definitely will be developed some more.

      • Oh I 100% think it's a cool idea and could see it being used for some cool shit in the future. tbh I mostly wrote as much as I did so I didn't seem entirely dismissive. I think it's absolutely something that has potential, just not something I'd be willing to jump in on at ground zero. Again though, cool idea dude, I hope it takes off for you guys.

I reckon a QR code people can scan would be better.

In fact I was telling a business the other day they should have QR brochures.

      • I'm a big fan of QR Code too, did a lot with them after COVID 1.0 with online ordering for cafe based clients - we can print QR codes on the customised ones too.

  • +1

Will this replace my cd business card?

  • I have a "Tapt by Hatch" NFC business card. It has NFC, a QR code (for the odd occasion when NFC doesn't work).

When you tap, it goes to a page with my details, and a "add to contacts" link, which downloads a VCF card. It's in our corporate colours and font (with logo etc), it looks and feels really premium.

Sure - when I first heard about the concept, I was a bit "why not just use your phone", "put a QR strip on a card" etc etc. However in use it's elegant, a source of interest and "wow great idea", and one of only a couple of cards in my wallet.

Other advantage - we moved office - card only shows mobile and email and web - so easy to update on the website.

Big weakness - you can't have in your phone case - or if you do have to turn NFC off.

And no more printed business cards. Which TBH are becoming an anachronism anyway…

    • Love this feedback - yep I initially had one of another brand too but felt it was overpriced for what it was so have tried to create my own at a better price. NFC is 100% the future.

    • what's this $10 dollar renewal fee every year?

Is that for them to host your details on their server?

  • Hi OP

Am i able to just buy one customised card?

I asked the same question above for the contact details to do this but no reply as yet.

    Cheers,

    • Hi Danzter! Unfortunately we have a MOQ of 5 customised cards at the moment although we're working on it with our supplier as we speak!
      Cheers,
      Patrick
