  • battery life: up to 2.5 hours - hummm I wanted to use this while in the city. 2.5 hours is not really good compared to other garmin models (up to 3-4 hours). a bit of turn off.

  • Is this one better/ worse than the Garmin Nuvi 50 for $117:

Is that promotion on at the moment? If so, which models apply?

      • Yeah I would like to know too.

    • If you're thinking of taking this GPS overseas, Garmin charge an arm and a leg for offshore maps (won't be on the GPS you purchase here). I asked about Nth America, Sth America and Western Europe for the Nuvi and they were all more than $100 each! Google maps on Android using a local (OS) SIM + prepaid plan might be a better combined buy. For example, in the USA you can buy a prepaid package with a SIM with enough data GBs to use Google maps for a month for less than $100 (and off course more call airtime than you'll ever need) See http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-plans …. You don't have an android phone? Why not….?

  • Is this online only price? Or in store too?

    • I just picked up one in store.

      • Yep just checked too. My dad bought one from the Good Guys late last month, still within their 30 day price guarantee. Took a print out of the dick smith webpage and they even went on their website to check price, but claimed that it was online only price. So they only priced matched it "to be generous", plus 75cents cheaper, probably just incase we do prove them wrong, so they dont have to beat it since new receipt price is lower.

So I guess another pricematching tip is, check that the price is instore too beforehand, as the good guys wont match online price.

  • Any comments from anyone on how this performs? Been reading some reviews, particulaly from Product Review au and they are VERY mixed.

  • I bought it for 149 a few days ago, can I go back ask them to return the different??

    • Not if you are going to tell them that.
They have store policies printed out at the cashier.
If your item is faulty, then yes you can return and buy again.

    • They have a 7 day price matching policy, for competitors, I guess you could try.
