Good Morning Lime Blue Coffee Family :)

As is the norm, if you're flat chat and want me to just get to the point, skip this paragraph and go straight to the bold writing in 2nd paragraph :) We got super dooper Oz Bargained with our recent Moments to Memories Blend deal, breaking our own record with a whopping 150 up votes,WOOHOO!!!

An instant coffee party celebration was a tempting but fleeting thought, promptly overtaken by the thought in that moment (you can take or leave the pun, not intended but it's there and it works haha) sleep was optional, but letting down the good will from so many people by being slow on dispatch or not sending out a delicious product was not an option at all. I believe we lived up to our end of the bargain, hopefully you do too. Anyway, back the the point of why I mention the above, from that deal we got an extraordinary amount of constructive and wonderful feedback from so many people and we do listen, as a result we're looking at new technology, new coffee origins, exploring potential additional shipping options with Aust Post for eParcel and Express Post as well as FedEx; the most surprising quantity of feedback was around interest in a Decaf deal. You're about to hear me say two words which you may not expect in the same sentence. I'm so excited to announce the wait is finally over for our Swiss Water Process Decaf deal many of you have been asking for. This deal also has a tasty kicker, our South Central Blend is discounted for this deal too. I know the following may sound a tad strange, but the SWP Decaf roast profile we've created is probably one of the profiles I'm most proud of, it was one of the trickiest to create and I'm yet to see another roasted decaf profile anywhere close to our's, so it's quite unique, well either that or I just need to get out more haha. Our Decaf will look darker than our South Central Blend, but ironically it's a bit lighter roast; balanced flavour and sweetness presence were our goals and I believe we have far outdone ourselves with this one relative to other Decaf's out and about. Depending on how this deal goes I've got a mini mission to do Decaf a bit more justice to it's reputation and potentially offer a few different decafs on our site down the track. I don't think it'll overtake normal coffee but I just think it's not generally presented at it's best and I'd like to change that because I think "either offer something the best you can or don't offer it at all." As always, your constructive feedback emails, messages, Oz Bargain posts/comments and of course wonderful orders are immensely uplifting for our small tenacious team and hopefully they're a win for you too as it helps shape the Lime Blue Coffee experience for the future, thank you tremendously!!!

Hold onto your seats because we've got you covered for your morning kick start and evening wind down…Get excited for our South Central blend in the morning and our SWP Decaf in the evening or whatever combo you wish and if you don't want a combo, all good you're welcome to just pick one. We're offering you a 50% discount of our delicious South Central Blend (only $19.28 per kg, usually $38.55 per kg) and our uniquely outstanding Swiss Water Process Decaf (only $23.99 per kg, usually $47.98 per kg,) until 16/08/2021. I fully appreciate some of our prices have increased as above, but there's huge things happening in the coffee world causing shortages and we've held off increases as long as we possibly could. Covid is messing with shipping, there's frost and snow in Brazil which totally destroys crops (takes years to replant and grow these for their first harvest), there's been a lot of strikes in Colombia which means coffee wasn't getting off the ports in a timely fashion and on top off all that we're seeing a shortage of food grade containers currently delaying shipments from Peru among other origins by 2-3 months. With all the above in mind, our Swiss Water Process Decaf has to go on quite the expensive journey to get to your cup; it's grown and initially processed in Colombia, then sent to Canada to go through the Swiss Water Decaf process, then needs to make it's way to the Melbourne Port, then to the importers 3rd Party storage, then to our HQ, then you your home and finally your cup or glass. However, when all is said and done I still believe the above prices to fall under the category of a "deal."

We have options for packing orders in 1kg or 500g bags and shipping via Shipit-Couriers Please or Australia Post to suit your personal preferences. Orders will be dispatched on a rolling basis, ASAP and future dispatch orders notes welcomed. Some helpful info; the discount price will show up after the "cart" stage of the ordering process, if you select paypal express checkout on the product page you'll likely skip the order notes section (special instructions for seller box) which is on the cart page, all delivery companies are predicting 1-3 day delivery delays due to lockdown.

I hope this finds all members of the Lime Blue Coffee Family having a truly wonderful week :)

Best Wishes As Always,

Tom.

AVOID Couriers Please as the shipping method. You have been warned

    • +1

They've used Shipit every time for mine and I've had no issues. but yes the Couriers please google reviews speak for themselves

      • So after all my positive talk, it ended up with Couriers please and it's all aligned for delivery… yesterday. Tracking still shows in transit to my house for…. yesterday. hopefully the driver is ok

    • +3

The only thing worse than these guys is Sendle

      • Im guessing they use Amarex and Couriers Please

      • +3

Never had any issue with SENDLE, it’s actually my best way for send out or pick up, specially cheap

        • +3

Ive been mostly happy with Sendle, however recently I dropped of a $500 camera at my local drop off point. Two weeks went by and it said the item hadn't been collected. Called the drop off point twice and they said no sign of the package. Buyer getting annoyed so had to lodge an investigation with Sendle which took about a week. They concluded they device was lost. I called the drop off point one more time and essentially accused them of theft. They miraculously found it within ten seconds. Shocked that Sendle didnt think to ask the drop off point if the package was there as part of their thorough investigation. Also wasn't helpful that there is no Sendle phone number for customer support. Only email.

I also had another instance where I dropped off a package at a drop off point and the guy clearly had no idea what I was on about, but smiled and took the package (English wasn't his first language). I began to be concerned as he didn't scan it in or anything so went back and asked him to scan it in and he had no idea what I was on about. I repeated myself and he just handed me the package. I reported this to Sendle and as far as I am concerned they didn't follow through on that.

          Your mileage may vary.

Ordered from Lime Blue twice (delivery to Sydney metro), unhappy both times. First order delivered by Sendle took 22 calendar days. Second order delivered by Couriers Please took 9 calendar days. Couriers Please lied about attempted delivery and took my parcel to a 7-11 locker without giving me a password to unlock the locker. Between Lime Blue's not fast enough despatch (waited 3 whole working days last order) and couriers' not good enough delivery, I have been left without beans twice. Add to that the inconvenience and uncertainty.

Bay Beans' long running deal (2kg for $49.70, free delivery) is underrated. I've ordered from them 14 times. Despatch is always fast. Delivery hiccup only 1 out of 14 times and was a minor delay compared to Lime Blue. Last order (regional NSW to Sydney metro) arrived next day.

          • +2

@Snow Stockholm: My one experience so far is not with Lime Blue but with the courier.
They should stop using Couriers Please and just have Austpost as the option to be honest.

      • Ordered through sendle once. They didn't deliver the package even though I was at home, just left a note in the mail box. Rescheduled 5 times without them showing up and me staying at home all day each time. In the end I just gave up, called the store and cancelled the order. Never again..

        • Hey Vislian,

I appreciate the general Sendle feedback, we 100% agree that Sendle consistently drops the ball, which is why we stopped using them back in 2020. We now only use Courier's Please and Australia Post, customer's can pick which delivery company they prefer. We're also looking into other delivery companies to further increase reliable delivery efficiency.

Just to clarify, am I right to conclude that your above comment wasn't about Lime Blue Coffee and just about your experience with Sendle when you ordered from another company? I think this is the case specifically from the "called the store and cancelled the order. Never again.." comment as I'm absolutely certain that call didn't involve anyone from Lime Blue Coffee :)

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: Yep, you're right wasn't with lime. Was with a different store. Sorry, didn't mean to imply it was anything to do with you, just really had a sucky experience with sendle. Good to hear you're not using them anymore! My order with you guys I ordered with Australia Post now 8D

        • Finally a code I am happy to copy paste

        • :) 2021

I got your order note, thank you so much for placing an order with us and leaving your note, both are truly appreciated!!!

I read the note and thought, "perhaps they're ensuring they get the discount applied to their order, but why did they add 2021 to the end?" Now it all makes sense, and has brought a smile to my face :)

    • +3

I agree, next time I should aim for a whole paragraph, otherwise I'll never get in the Guinness World Record book for longest code ever :) :) :)

  • +4

Thanks Tom. Possibly the longest oz bargain tailored post from a rep I have ever seen. Good stuff

Currently sipping on Moments to Memories from the last deal and enjoying it. Picked up 1kg of South Central. $27 delivered is good value, don't care if its aus post or some random courier. Decided to go courier to save $1

    • -1

      TLDR?

      • +1

All good, no need to read, all you need to do it click the link to get the good stuff at the good price :)

        • done

          • @truebunny: Fantastic, thank you so much for placing an order with us, it does mean so much to the team!!!

    • WOW, thank you so much for placing another terrific order with us, all your orders to date mean so much to the team and we're so happy to know this deal is a winner for you while you're enjoying the winner from our previous deal!!!

I will admit the code is quite the mouthful. In my defense it was accompanied by a link which automatically applies the discount so people don't have the type a novel at the checkout haha

I'm glad you are impressed by they post's ability taking on War and Peace for the "world's longest read" category, you can thank me for the email length, however a Lime Blue Coffee rep didn't post this deal to Oz Bargain, you can thank one of our wonderful customers for that @fLamous

p.s. a $1 is a $1, it all adds up, nothing to be sneezed at :)

I enjoyed reading this over my coffee this morning. It's interesting hearing about challenges of a coffee supplier and global logistics. I'd love to see more about that and also have an option to offset the carbon footprint my coffee has on the world. Great stuff!

  • How do you guys handle switching between regular beans and decaf? I usually fill my integrated grinder with regular beans.

    • Depending on your grinder you'll need to fully purge, dial in the grind each time you switch and it's a big waste. Either buy a separate grinder. Grind a batch of grinds that'll last you a few days. Or simply adjust your drinking habits to be caffeinated or non on a week by week basis maybe.

    • +4

I keep my grinder hopper empty. I pre weigh each shot of coffee and keep them in individual containers till i need to grind. So when you make a coffee, you just empty beans into the grinder and grind till empty. That way you can separate decaf and other special beans. I do this for my espresso beans and my ice coffee beans. It does mean you need kitchen scales (~$15). But its better than buying another expensive grinder or pre-grinding

    • I have two grinders

    • We found the measuring cup that comes with the Aeropress is perfect for flat white (about 18g of coffee), so we just measure and grind each time.

  • Hi Tom. I can't find any details about what origins are in the South Central Blend. Can you please elaborate (and maybe update your site as well, since I expected to find out there)? Thanks!

  • Does the decaf come in a grind for plungers?

Also, anyone tasted the decaf and give any thoughts?

    • Great questions!

I'll answer the first and leave the second to the Oz B Community, just select ground filter also leave an order note that says "Plunger" and we'll take care of the rest :)

  • How does this compare to Airjo?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/644216

    • loved my last lime blue coffee as much if not better than most of the airjo ones i've bought. FYI i like most of my airjo purchases except 1 or 2

    • IMO It's much similar quality wise but since I order in bulk, paying postage separately works better for me hence been getting lime blue for the past a few months.

    • +2

Personally prefer lime blue to airjo. The coffee notes are more pronounced in lime blue roasts. Airjo just had a generic coffee flavour.

    this is what I got:

MORNINGENERGYEVENINGRELAX discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart

I used the link with direct discount. Not very good.

    • You probably added something to your cart that was neither the items on offer?

    • Hmmm that's strange, I've done a bunch of test and everything seems to be functioning as it should, that said tech can be strange sometimes :)

Here's the link that directly applies the discount https://limebluecoffee.com/discount/MORNINGENERGYEVENINGRELA…

Please be sure to let me know if the link doesn't work.

p.s. please note you'll only actually see the discount applied after the cart page…so when you start entering your delivery details you should see the discount applied :)

  • No deals on the Brazilian coffee… Next time, I guess!

    • Thanks for reaching out :)

When you get a sec could you please send us an email?

  • Is it all good to request a later month dispatch date? I've got a whole heap of coffee to go through but would love to try yours in the future.

    • +1

Yup, that's what I did last time they had this offer. Left a message telling them to roast and dispatch in a month time and they did exactly that.

    • That sounds terrific, 100% we can make that happen for you, simply place your order and leave an order note in the "special instructions to seller" section on the cart page :)

  • Looking forward to trying the decaf! Thanks!

  • +1

    +1 for Lime Blue Coffee.
Just want to say I can vouch for their customer service. Tom has been great to follow up with undelivered coffee.

    • POD - beans are great. Customer service even better.

Promo code so long, makes a rich kid wanna puke..

  • That coupon codee……. Dude

    • +1

It does leave a lasting impression :)

  • Highly recommend south central blend for white coffee drinkers. The single origin is good black but lacks the punch when added to milk.
    Love the deal! Thanks OP

  • +1

Ahh finally a decaf deal. Would really love to try some but I just recently bought a 1kg bag from my usual store.

Really would like to support this move. Hopefully this is popular enough for you to have more deals in the future.

    • +2

You can ask Tom to delay shipping (put it in notes). I did it with mine. Just put in a note to roast and deliver in Oct. Tom will roast and deliver few days before that date. That's how I basically line up multiple orders in a 2 months rotation.

  • Will try the South Central Blend this time, thanks for the deal!

  • Any deals for moments to glory?

    • Woohoo for "Moments to Glory," I absolutely love that blend nickname!!!

Please send us an email when you get a sec?

  • Any chance of getting a mixed 1kg deal - 50/50 South Central and Decaf? Keen to try both!

    • Love that you're keen on both :)

Can you please send us an email when you get a sec?

  • which blend would be best for cold brew?

    • Great question, all our option can make a delicious cold brew due to the omni roast profiles we've created, that said I believe our South Central Blend should hopefully be the winning ticket for you :)

  • Thanks OP

Had a very delicious single origin (Peru, organic) back in January and was surprised to find that had been my only Lime Blue order thus far. Ordered South Central blend and very excited to jump back in :)

  • oh no….I missed out, didn't realise the end date….

  • @LimeBlueCoffee I had an issue with my order. have sent you a PM

    • +1

All sorted now, I've replied to you PM :)
