I agree, McSpicy also comes with a bonus set of diarrhoea. Great value!

      • +1

Worst chicken burger you can find anywhere in Aus.

  • -5

McChicken has become the size of cheeseburger and cheeseburger is now the size of hamburger.

    • +37

The only difference between a cheeseburger and a hamburger is a slice of cheese.

      • -8

ok McDonald expert. the point is their burger sizes are a joke. big Mac is now the size of mcchicken. happy now? lol

        • +7

          You're still wrong though….

    • Cheeseburger and hamburger have always had the same size meat patty.

      • -3

Nope, hamburger used to be smaller and was called a "Junior burger"

        • +3

Cheeseburger and hamburger have always had the same size meat patty.

          • @tomsco: Chesseburger and Hamburger have '10:1' patties (10 patties is 1 pound)

Quarter Pounder has '4:1' patties (4 patties is 1 pound).

Pretty sure its the frozen weight, so will include some water, which is lost when it cooked and defrosted.

          • -1

@tomsco: Junior burger was smaller than current hamburger

            • @jv: Hamburger (formerly known as the Junior Burger in some countries) consists of a 1.6-ounce (45 g) ground beef patty, with 0.125 ounces (3.5 g) ketchup, mustard, dill pickle slices and re-hydrated onions on a toasted bun

              • @harthagan:

                consists of

                That is currently…

I'm talking about when Maccas first opened in VIC.

Also, I'm talking about the burger, not just the patty…

                • @jv: Ok so that was almost 50 years ago. Also the comment you replied to initially was regarding the size of the patty specifically

                  • @harthagan:

was regarding the size of the patty specifically

Really? Where did I mention the patty ?

                    • +1

@jv: tomsco said they have always had the same size patty. You replied to him

                      • @harthagan:

                        You replied to him

I replied about the size of the burger, not the patty…

                        • +1

@jv: Still doesn't make sense mate. The first word in your reply was "nope" indicating that you were disputing his point about the size of the patties

                          • -3

                            @harthagan:

You need to read the first sentence and not take words out of context…

                            • +1

@jv: Regardless of the context, "nope" still implies disagreement when responding to an assertion.

              • @harthagan: It doesn't say anything about it changing size when the name went from juinior burger to hamburger.

                • @harthagan: Probably a decision by marketing not to focus on the size change.

                • -2

                  @harthagan:

It doesn't say anything about it changing size when the name went from juinior burger to hamburger.

                  No, it doesn't.

                  They should've let people know…

    • +1

I agree about the size of the McChicken, it's a joke.

    • +1

Just wait until you learn about blocks of chocolate.

    • Sometime recently the size of the burgers have decreased in diameter. I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted.

  • +3

Make sure you ask for a fresh one. Every time I don't specifically request it to be freshly cooked, they give me something that looks like it fell behind a bench and was left there for 3 years until it resembled a dried out sponge.

    • So a fresh McChicken is less dry and it is very noticable?

    • Get it early for breakfast and its fresh

    • That’s just McDonald’s

      • +1

Sure, but if you ask them to make it fresh or request say, a steamed bun, you will not get a burger that has be sitting in the warmer for over an hour.

    • The burger will be made at the time of order, however the chicken patty are usually pre cooked (fried) and kept in a warmer. Same for chicken nuggets.
So need to ask for a freshly cook patty to get that crunchy and juicy taste.

  • +4

interesting how it's more expensive than the bigmac one with cheeseburger

  • +8

McD's are surely taking the piss with teh shrinking "burgers"…

Had a McChicken (does it really have chicken in it?) today with 1 tiny accident of lettuce on it and no sauce at all which was as tasteless as something from NQR

Nothing beats the small family shop burgers

    • agreed.. I still don't mind a McChicken but its a snack at best.

    • hj's still pretty good…
but my local had their grill break down - only had nuggets :(

    • +2

McChicken is the most boring and plain burger. It needs cheese and more sauce, its usually so dry with a tiny drop of the delicious McChicken sauce and very sparse scattering of shredded lettuce. It should be priced at $3 as a snack burger, and that's being generous

      • agree… but not much there IS more than a snack anymore.

although they are doing Double Burgers at the local… I rarely visit anymore but double Big Mac looked enticing… wonder if you can still see through the "meat" it being that thin

        • The McChicken in the US is on the dollar menu and is usually under $2 in most stores.

The burger is so incredibly blan and should only be a few dollars regularly as the Chicken burgers at KFC absolutely smash the McChicken with more flavour and a chicken patty that isn't glued together.

      • +1

McChicken: Seeded bun, lettuce, McChicken Sauce, McChicken Patty RRP = A$6.15
Chicken & Cheese : Standard bun, Mayonaise, Slice of cheese, McChicken Patty = A$4.00
        So:
Seeded Bun + McChicken Sauce > Standard bun + Mayonaise + Slice of cheese

        What's up with that??

        • chicken & cheese has a chicken processed patty (not breast chicken), not the actual mc chicken patty (breast chicken)

    • The family shop burgers are always bigger, taste better, have fresh ingredients & usually decently cheaper, too.

Sometimes wonder if Maccas is just a money laundering operation, or if it's the kids indoor playgrounds keeping them in business ?

  • +3

McChicken tasted better when the bun used to be steamed.

    • +2

You can get it with a steamed bun if you ask, not sure if you'll be able to with this deal.

  • +3

I only eat the McChicken meal when Conor McGregor fights

  • +1

Off topic I know, but wondering, do they still sell the McFeast? I used to love that years ago…

    • I always break off a leg piece in honor of Connor :)

    • +1

I don't believe they do anymore. I asked for one a couple weeks back and the attendant told me that it was taken off the menu.

      • That's a shame, thanks for the info..

  • +1

    any idea bout week 4?

    • +4

more "burgers" that used to be huge, that are now tiny

      • +2

If they kept making the burgers bigger, you'd all be getting fatter than you already are. Damned if they do…

        • So keep making em smaller and charging more… Is that you Chris Kempczinski?

      • +1

Then get bigger burger like classicsl angus or clubhouse burger?

  • +3

Think ill go back for the $6 bacon delux meal at hj’s instead

    • agreed though alas no HJ's within 5 km of me…

  • McChicken - add the following:
    Steamed Bun
    Bacon
    Cheese
    Bbq sauce

Much better than the plain Jane version

    • +1

im too tight to add cheese and bacon but I will try a steamed bun

  • McChicken on a steamed bun for tomorrow lunch. Thanks OP

  • how many mouthfulls is that? 2?

  • +3

Thanks, I wouldn't pay more than 10 dollars for a meal with McDonald's these days

  • Not really that impressive.

They have the deals (Big Mac/Quarter Pounder/McChicken) Small Meal + Chesseburger for $5/$6 in the app on the randomiser.

They matched the higher price of $6. They didn't even match the lower price, or go even lower i.e. $4 (given it's supposed to be a 50 years 'celebration' offer).

    • How do you get these deals?

  • How much is it delivered from app? Cheaper than uber eats?

    • +1

You can't order delivery on the mymacca's app

  • Tks OP its going on to my rounds for today .

  • -1

    rather get 4x custard pies

  • Hmmm I thought Big Mac is more expensive than a Mc Chicken, surprised to see this is $1 more than the $5 combo (with Big Mac) couple of weeks back…

    • I thought Big Mac, Quarter Pounder and McChicken were broadly the same 'category' of burger. All 'standard' burgers.

  • I couldn't redeem this for some reason. Tried my account and it told me to speak to staff. Tried the kiosk (with code) and it wouldn't let me select the deal - like it wasn't active. Then tried my partners account and it said there was a problem with payment (even though she was charged).

Walked a block and got a snitty burger with the lot from a local takeaway for $7.50.

I had started to reevaluate the MyMaccas app recently, but looks like it's still a piece of garbage.

    • Funny I had the same problem on this app for this same deal. Got charged initially then it was cancelled pretty weird and annoying.

    • Same issue. Couldn't redeem via app (didn't get past payment but got charged and eventually refunded). Could not redeem via kiosk as promo was not available to be selected. Tried with two different maccas

Definitely not the app as I was able to redeem another special

  • Seems it's only available 10h30 to 15h59

    • 1030 - 0359

Just not available at breakfast time as the McChicken isn't on the all day menu.

      • Oh yeah my bad you're right. 03h59

  • Can only redeem once, unlike the Big Mac + Cheeseburger deal where you could re-order from your order history.

  • Does anyone know what next weeks offer is ?

    • 20% off $10 spend
