  • Not bad range.
looking for a set of classic BBS RS meshies myself. the VS VX are close, but start at 18" when i'm looking for 16-17"

    • They also have 10% off on all the Work Wheels 1 / 2 / 3 Piece wheels

      Code: WORK

      Expiry: 31-12-2021

  • Bought wheels here in the past, fantastic service and communication.

    • me too. been around a long time while many others have come and gone.

I guess when you get to the point of having a collaboration with Work, that's got to mean something

  • +1

Hasn't it always been 15% off for anything 2p or 3p?

    • I don't know, someone else might be able to elaborate on that

  • Damn, I wonder if I put in some discount code when I bought my new wheels last year for my freshly painted jzx, still waiting for em, should be October.

  • Wow, i remember when these guys first opened up back around circa 2006

  • They have been around for a long time, I think they're official Work wheels distributor. They used to sell a bunch of other brands as well but that has died down a bit.
Has been well priced and good service (from the various forums I've read over the years).

    • I bought a Bride Digo-R off them many moons ago, stickers for my SSRs, hub rings, and hes been helpful with tracking down part numbers for stuff that he doesnt stock or sell too.

  • But not 15% off TE37s :(

    • +5

I've been out of the game for many years now, but during my time Jesse Streeter was the go to for Rays Eng goodies… I also remember JDM Concept and bought some Works off these guys too, but when it came to Rays Eng no one locally here could beat Jesse, even with that 15%. Most of the JDM goodies, he was the best priced in fact.

I know Jesse is still around, but not sure how he operates these days, but back then it was direct through him but his business was also growing at the same time!

This deal makes me sad… Oh how I miss those days. Word of advice to all, NEVER give into your other half and sell your pride and joy. I made that mistake and still regret to this day. More so, the way that the prices have sky rocketed after I sold many years ago is the killer :(

      • What car did you have?

@AnDyStYLe: Looks nice. Can't remember the last time I even saw a 180 on the roads!

          • @AnDyStYLe: Looks pretty similar to mine. When did you sell it?

            • +1

@Thenameseagleeye: 2015 - To a young fella from NSW, but as I understood he sold it again not long after acquiring from me… I see you're in NSW too!

I got a bit nostalgic last year due to this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/558759 and ran a bit of a search on it via the VIN and see that it's still around and not written off :)

              • @AnDyStYLe: Yep, I'm in NSW and bought mine from a guy who hadn't had it long and sold it to me in 2016. He said that he got it from VIC. I have uncut front guards which is what makes me think they're the same.

@Thenameseagleeye: Oh wtf! What a small world… That you have in your possession was once mine :o

I can tell by that pic… That hint of silver on the factory Momo optioned steering wheel, and can make out slightly the rear qtr panel above the valance a bit of undercoat over spray line when it had once an aftermarket rear bar.

Also can see the GTS-t rear calipers I painted black myself and the rear cf window spoiler, looks like you kept.

You'd be pleased to know the front guards were brand new from Nissan, replaced them to delete the extra signal indicator lights that was mandatory from compliance, which I hated.

I can tell you, when that girl was with me it was looked after immaculately! I spent $$$ on it and blood, sweat and tears…

Congrats… I'm sure you know what this baby is worth these days too!!!

You and I have a lot of catching up to do my friend lol

                  I'm so jealous :(

                  Edit: Here's another pic https://i.ibb.co/r34fFbr/180SX.jpg

@AnDyStYLe: That's a immaculate 180! Small world eh, who would've thought you would find the owner of it on here. I still regret the day I passed on a clean Spec R S15 with 110 XXX KMS for 18 grand. Amazing how expensive they've gotten now.

                  • +2

@AnDyStYLe: lmao what are the odds? that's actually so crazy

                  • +1

@AnDyStYLe: Wow, that's insane - what are the odds. Glad to see your old girl is still kicking around!

He still operates in much the same way as before. I bought wheels off him a few yrs ago. quite literally overnight parts from japan, cheaper than anything locally sourced.

        • Tried to source a few parts from him recently. Bloody cheap but now with COVID, Japan have stopped EMS postage services to Australia so the postage kills the deal. Sucks

    • The TE37 are Volk Racing-Rays wheels not Work

      • +7

Yeah I know. I just wanted to throw out JDM words and be part of the club.

    • TE37s aren't by work though.. if you're in melb contact MKmotorsports for TE's they have a good range

  • is it ok to buy wheels that cost more than my car?

    • +4

If you're the type of person who puts a sticker on their window with their IG name, yes.
      Otherwise, no.

      • perfect. i'll be buying a few sets

  • +2

Not really a deal. They almost always have discount codes for all their wheels (at least dating back to 2016 when I last purchased from JDM Concept) with "discounts" typically ranging from 10-15%

    • I bought a couple of sets of wheels from them before and the price has gone up a couple of hundred bucks now

    • +1

Not quite as bad as Ozzy Tyres with their '60% OFF' deals!!! 😂😂😂

  • As Always check Crooober and other import sites first to compare prices.
Sadly postage from japan has gone insane these days.

I got wheels shipped with brand new bridgestone regnos's (made in Japan) for 800 postage 5 years ago, now its double at best.

  • Never expected Work wheels to pop up here!

    Sadly no 5x112 :(

    • +4

      Hello fellow Eurotrash owner (probably)

Someone find us a deal on some BBS wheels pls

      • Amen. I need LMs in 5x112.

        • Good luck bargain hunting for LMs

    • Custom order they can probably get them in

  • Are they genuis wheels?

    • Yeah they are Work distributors + they got them to make their own design.

      • Sorry for my stupidity.

I have never heard them before but by looking at their wheels and found the prices are not much different from Rays lightgram ssr and Enkei.

What people still buy from them over those big brands?

        • +1

The casual enthusiasts tend to buy replicas like Rota’s. Or Hussla’s and Lenso wheels.

          Or 16x8 Sunraysia’s on a Honda Civic…

        • Work, Gram Light, Enkei etc. "semi forge" or spun/rolled cast alloys, usually cost <$2,000.
Proper forged wheels like Volk Racing cost >$4,000 because of the forging processes.

Work have made quite a few famous wheels (Meister, Kiwami, Emotion, Equip, Seeker)

  • are these forged wheels? or just regular cast?

    • +1

Depends on the price. Majority are flow formed IIRC.

  • +1

Shouldn't you Oz bargainers be shopping Rota wheels?

    • Genuine Rota?

      • If you want a knock off of a knock off, sure you can get Rota replicas

    • Haha. You are right i suppose :P

  • Wow, this is a sweet deal and I never expected to see JDMconcept posted here

I've personally got a set of Work GT5 for my ER34 and absolutely adore them

I'm going to shill these to my friends now

  • Recently ordered 3 sets of Work through JDM Concept and Leo is great guy to deal with. Service is second to none, highly recommended

  • Absolutely great rims but not at this time for me.

  • +3

    Who here from JDMST??

  • Wouldn't have thought ozbargain would be the main demographic for these products, but the comments have surprised me

    • +1

what i learnt from browsing the thread asking what everyone's driving is that Ozb are serious about their cars

  • Great to see so many car enthusiasts on OzBargain

    • If it weren't for your post, I wouldn't have connected with the bloke that now owns what was once mine… Crazy, such a small world!!!

Moral of the story, JDM enthusiasts are fkn tightasses too lol

      • Glad that I could help

All you need now is buy yourself another car that you will enjoy it for weekend drives :)
