Another Arctic fan on sale and this time it's the silent version of P12 with a fixed speed of 1050rpm. Obviously if you want an adjustable fan speed then wait for the Arctic P12 PWM to go on sale again as it has a fan speed of 200-1800rpm

Edit: Now $7.07

  • OPTIMISED FOR STATIC PRESSURE: The fan guarantees extremely efficient cooling, even with increased air resistance, therefore, the P12 Silent is particularly suitable for use on heatsinks and radiators
  • HIGH QUALITY BEARING: Thanks to an alloy/lubricant combination developed in Germany, friction within the bearing is reduced and greater efficiency is achieved
  • VIRTUALLY SILENT MOTOR: At low fan speed, the motor is the main source of unwanted noise, a motor developed in Germany with an enhanced bearing reduces friction and noise
*HIGH AIR RESISTANCE: Thus, the P12 Silent is especially effective when used on heatsinks and with higher air resistance, the motor of the fan was developed in Germany and is virtually silent
  • TECHNICAL DATA: Fan speed: 1050 RPM, Airflow: 24.1 CFM/40.95 m³/h (@ 1050 RPM), Noise Level: 0.08 Sone (@ 1050 RPM), Pin: 3-pin

  • Has anybody tried this "silent" version? Are they really quiter than their other fans at the same output I wonder?

    • +3

My guess is it's the same fan with a speed reduction in place so that max speed = 1050rpm rather than 1800rpm. It's like how some Noctua fans come with low-nose adaptors, this would just be having that built in.

      • P12 Silent = 40.95 m³/h @1050 RPM fixed speed, 0.08 Sone (@ 1050 RPM) (Sone=unit of loudness)
        P12 (Original) = 95.65 m³/h @1800 RPM fixed speed, 0.3 Sone (@ 1800 RPM)
The comparison specs are at the bottom of the Amazon page, apples and oranges in this case, we can't really compare them.
But clearly the P12 Silent reduces some of it's sone level by reducing its RPM, which in turn reduces its ability to remove
air from the case by more than half!! The end result is you have a fan that produces almost 4X less noise.

        • Buy two silent fan and you get the same air movement for 2x the noise, but double the cost
          :)

    any deals for 140mm?

    • This, I rarely ever see any.

    • +1

I found F14 pack prices (case fans, not radiator/pressure fans) Staticice ($49 for 5 pack, or $59 for PWM 5 pack from PCCG)

      • How are the Arctics as case fans anyway?

        • +2

Up there with Noctua without the expensive price tag. They work well for intake and exhaust.

        • My experience with a PWM 5-pack of P12's in an NZXT H400 is they're pretty excellent. Almost silent up to about 1200rpm and move plenty of air, no complaints.

cant be used as a radiator fan? - wanting to replace my corsair h115i's as these are starting to rattle abit….

        *edit found these
        https://www.pccasegear.com/products/53197/arctic-p14-pwm-140…

  • You don't need PWM to adjust fan speeds

    • Sure. PWM is arguably better and the PWM fans will go to a higher RPM.

  • Does the silent version sort of negate the reasons for getting pwm and adjusting speeds? As I missed the earlier deal I’ve picked these up to replace my stock Corsair AIO fans.

    • On my Artic Freezer II 280 radiator the radiator P fans I can still hear noise but it's more the air being pushed through the radiator then any noise from the fans actually spinning, my 2x 140 Artic radiator fans are still setup as default to push air just been too lazy to be setup to pull air into my PC case, the radiator is setup of front of case with the hoses from radiator orientated correctly with hoses to radiator setup at the bottom (just fitted orientated that way 😁)

So I've bought these 3x Artic P 120 0 RPM RGB fans (link below) which will replace my case front 3x crappy RGB fans I'm hoping these will run quieter below 200 RPM then the original Artic radiator fans (P 140s which have a minimum of 200 RPM), well I'm hoping I can setup the 140 radiator fans to switch off while the 3x Artic P 120 fans running/spinning close to 0 RPM will spin very quietly and no noise well hardly any air being pushed through/around the radiator, hopefully there's enough air to keep the radiator happy when running my PC at idle or low usage, only 2 and half of the 3x P120 Artic fans will blow across the front radiator as the radiator is a Artic 280 placed front and near top of case so bottom 1x Artic P 120 fan will blow air partially over bottom of radiator and air directly into case under towards bottom of my graphics card,.. will have another 3x of these Artic P120 0 RPM RGB fans for 1x back and 2x top of inside my case blowing air out of my PC case, all six P 120 fans hopefully running close to 0 RPM hopefully near quite when system is running close to idle low usage (well that's the plan 👍😁)

Anyone tried this setup and can comment on any noise?

      • Link is for an OOS item (tho orders can be placed)

      • I can still hear noise but it's more the air being pushed through the radiator then any noise from the fans

You know, I think you have a point here. I went AIO hoping to get a quieter experience but so far that's not been the case. Do you think having fans 'pull' air through the radiator will reduce that noise? I'm willing to give that a go.

        • Are yours push too?, I doubt there would be much difference "push or pull" as the fans are right against the radiator literally forcing air through radiator as them being high static pressure fans but Id be more interested if my Artic radiator fans make any noise in hand away from radiator and hopefully I'll get the above 0 RPM fans I've mentioned, hoping when they run at very low RPM's were even the slower forced air will be non audible but enough to cool the radiator slightly when my system is idle

  • This fan pushes double the cfm at 1350rpm. Does 200rpm really make that much of a difference in noise and air movement? Or is this fan just bad?

    • +5

That fan is F series, optimised for air flow. This deal is for a P series, optimised for static pressure (pushes air through high resistance radiators/heatsinks). They are optimised for different things.

The F series has more blades with a more aggressive angle of attack to move more air, but up against a radiator they will struggle. They're much better as case fans where they don't face much resistance.

      • +1

Huh. I always thought that the P-series was just straight better, and F was just cheaper for those looking only for case fans.

    • that fan is dedicated to airflow not static pressure, that fan at 1350 rpm is equivelant to the p12 pwm at 1800 rpm in terms of noise.
this fan would be much quieter although push not much air as it is limited to 1050rpm.
f12's are not often bought as p12 pwm's are better in almost every way.

is it just me or are these showing up as $16

    • You have to look for "From (4) other sellers" or something like that. It should show it being sold from Amazon UK at the lower price, but has a postage cost. Postage should be free if using Amazon Prime and in an order over $49).

Have honed this in the past; terrible product. Broke down in under a month. If I were looking for one, I would spend the extra dollar to buy one that would last a lot longer

    • good thing they have a 10 year warranty

      • yeah but would you bother as a customer to go through the return process for something $7 or just buy a new one? that, my friend, is called marketing. give 10 year warranty on cheap products worth $5. Very few people will bother to return a product worth $5 and would just buy a new one

        • +2

they dont take returns, if you show proof of purchase + the problem they will just send out a new fan for free.
the cost of having people ship them back to them isnt worth it for something they cant fix then resell and disposing of fans that are rmaed costs even more money due to regulations etc.

    these are still 10.64 anyways.

    • not in my screen at the time of writing… 49 mins from your post :)

you gotta buy from amazon uk

        • Shows me £10.90 as I type this ie not in Oz dollars ( and only 3 in stock) and there will be postage I assume (didn't look)…there is a special offer of £3.98 with strings attached that I didn't follow up, doesn't post to OZ

I use these silent fans as cabinet fans (drilled a hole at the back of the tv cabinet where the amp/playstation is) and they are SILENT connected to a 5v USB port. That's all I need to keep the cabinet cool. If you were wondering, they are good quality for these kind of uses.

  • I'm looking for very high CFM fans. Anybody got recommendations?

    • Cooler Master JetFlo is 95cfm. Noctua NF-F12 also provides a lot of airflow.

    • depends on how thick they can be, fixed speed?, price?, size?

for a normal case fan it would be phanteks t30 at 101CFM at 120mm
quieter than noctua, cool better and push more air. only downside might be more unpleasant sound profile
      edit-
and theyre crazy price but yknow..
