Do these have alloy thermoblock or traditional boiler? Much prefer the latter.

Bought one recently and will only heat up if I use the steam wand to heat the machine up ugh.
Sounds like a lose connection? If it's in warranty take it back, otherwise grab a multimeter and check your thermostats and connectors
Great find! Went to Costco today and picked one up along with a Brita Filter jug on sale. The guy at the checkout was shocked to see that Costco sold these, they must be new in stock. $400 off what Harvey Norman want for these. Fab!
As above comments mentioned, look into modifying it to get cafe quality shots
Practice and care makes that too, a lot of cafes coffee tastes like crap, obviously the good ones make it consistently well.
