Those writes are a long way from what's quoted…

Fujitsu must have been recorded their benchmarks from a PC located with a oxygen-free, 20°C, filtered test chamber suspended in mid-air via an anti-gravity field located in a land where unicorns frolic around shitting pure gold.

        But in the real world….

      • Probably the difference between writing text that's highly compressible and videos.

That's why I went for non-sandforce drive - I work more with video and photos.

    • how do these speeds compared with the crucial m4? looks like ssd prices are plummeting though :D:D

  • I'm sick of these amazon ssd pos- err oh wait… n/m…

    • hehe yeah good to see the locals jumping on board the SSD price titanic

      • Yaay. Someone realised I was making a funny (albeit a potentially poor one :).

Had this come along before I got my C4 bits I'd be researching to see if it was any good.

  • at 0.5GB/sec write, it will take 4 min to fill the disk up! that is if you believe in the marketing write speed and the marketing capacity :)

  • A lot of these 500mb per second write speeds quoted are based on compressible data (ie repeating blocks of 0's). If you try to copy a video stream where the data is already compressed (or a zip file) you will achieve results around the 140-170mb per sec rate (sustained), so this is still faster than most traditional hard drives, seek times are also significantly lower as well, noise levels are 0% etc.

  • Any special pricing on thr 240Gb?
