Could write a book on this, scents are by season, temperature, determined by ingredients. can't use winter scent in summer, will die off within minutes.

Also not all last long, for example most Calvin Klein ones just die off within an hour or two,
Just made weak like that, lot of Brands are like that, even some expensive fragrances, you'd expect them to last but they don't.

Apply only on clothing, not skin, apply from half a meter distance in mist, best way to apply on garment before dressing it. Especially pay attention on distance if it's a darker fragrance, if you apply from close by can leave stains on clothing due to ingredients, oils.

Always go to fragnatica website to check for which season the fragrance is intended, longetivity score etc.

Always take a sample at store and bring home, keep the sample away from body heat, check the sample in an hour or two to see how the fragrance smells after full development, never buy a fragrance on first test smell at store as that isn't the actual smell of the fragrance.

      • I get that, issue I faced was had same brand perfume from Myers and next time from CW, now one bottle would have easily last over couple of seasons.. but I have noticed, fragrance of Myers one certainly lasted long..regardless of heat, moisture, pollen or cold.. ( didn't tried in rain though)..

        • Use this site to check when the particular batch of that fragrance was produced to work out how close to use by date it is. Have used it for years and it has saved me a lot of wasted $$$

      Same …

  • Example:
Armaf Club De Nuit Sillage Eau De Parfum

    What does it smell like?

    • +1

Because I know you only ask serious questions…

Club De Nuit Sillage by Armaf is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women and men.

This is a new fragrance. Club De Nuit Sillage was launched in 2020.

      • Top notes are Bergamot, Black Currant, Lemon, Violet Leaf, Lime and Ginger;

      • Middle notes are Rose, iris and Jasmine;

      • Base notes are Ambroxan, Musk, Sandalwood and Cedar

Very personal choice but I also bought it and didn't like it. Smelt cheap, unsophisticated. Opening was powdery to me for some reason, then becomes citrus like. Not sure if this will be classed as summer fragrance.

        • I haven't opened the box yet, maybe I shouldn't! Ha ha

Maybe the mrs can have it, if she likes it (and I don't)

        • Same here, perfectly summarised.

    • Don't bother, I gave in and bought it a couple weeks back and regret it. It's an odd smell, not sweet, somewhat fresh, but also has an odd scent about it. I've sprayed it once and don't think i will use it again.

      • It's definitely different but is growing on me.
Leans a tad feminine, but it is a unisex fragrance.
The dry down is better than the opening.

      • If anyone wants my bottle for 30, pm me. 4 sprays used.

  • Just ordered mine last night :(

    • Ordered last week too :(

Gotta smell good for your household

Legit aye, I've spent about $1.5k on fragrances since lockdown. Slippery slope the fragrance game

      • Tell me about it… I smell fantastic now, but my wallet is definitely lighter

  • Versace Dylan blue / Mont blanc explorer, Available Instore and unavailable online, but can't place the order because the code doesn't work for click and collect.

    • They pulled out all the best sellers of course

    • I did a Click and Collect last night and definitely got the discount

  • Grabbed sillage as want to compare to the real deal which I got as a gift some years ago. What others do you guys suggest

Someone told me that Myer/DJ actually price matches CW, so I might go do this next time. I've found some of the luxury fragrances I've bought from CW in the past seem to wear off pretty quickly compared to the same product I bought from Myer/DJ.

    • -2

I had a girl at myers laugh in my face and said they will never price match CW cause the ones at CW are lower quality and older, and doesn't last as long.

    • -1

      Wrong.

  • always buy luxury fragrances from Myer/DJ during the sale, EOFY, black Friday, afterpayday, etc …
    usually 15+% + 15+% from ShopBack

  • didnt work on creed.

    • Yeah, not surprised. I couldn't find an exclusion list either

  • +1

it is so funny that anytime the fragrance deals from Chemist warehouse is posted, there are always many comments about Myer and David Jones fragrances to compare @@

    • It's one of the certainties of OB with "is it shuckable", "band 28" and "I sliced my finger with this Victorinox"

  • Hugo Boss perfumes are a waste of money. Literally, no perfume smell detected just 1 hour of several sprays.

  • I'm not saying that CW fragrances are fake/old or anything else but with any fragrances, I check this website https://www.checkfresh.com/ and it tells you when the batch of that particular fragrance was produced. Surprisingly enough, many at CW I have brought seem to be getting close to the end of their lifespan. Same with many from other discount fragrance retailers however, I have also found this at Myer/DJs every now and then particularly Estee Lauder owned smells.
