Top 10 (or 50 if You Like) Things You Will Do First, Post Lockdown?

Couldn't decide which forum section to put this into. In the end, I thought to myself, I think it goes into 'Health' and could be seen as a mental health thread.

As such, I think the fact the world is the way it is at present, I imagine, each and every one of us in the real world would be wishing, dreaming and thinking of when life and our days become 'good days' once again.

I would be keen to hear what everyone feels would be on their top 10 things (of 50 if you like - space pending of course) to do once freedom returns would be?

No need for a list in order, unless you wish, but thinking of dreaming of the better days that will sometimes be coming… What are you going to do?

(Speaking with a few friends in and out of the medical professional arena, there are concerns some of us/general population will have hesitation in returning to a more normal life, post covid lockdowns. Let's hope that this doesn't happen to anyone, yet if it does, those that are hesitant can turn to whatever the flipside of this all becomes to be, can embrace it instead of fearing it.)

Happy planning all!

For me, I'll be planning:

Travel Interstate and seeing friends and family first, travelling OS again so need a holiday, enjoying a drink with a friend(s) watching the sun go down with a vodka in hand, great dining experiences to return, with summer coming - towel on the sand at the beach, my list is super long!
But this lockdown has reminded me, just how important enjoying life really is!

Over to the community!

      Get a haircut

      and get a real job.

      • OzB'ing is a job within its self, isn't it?

    Browse the aisles of Bunnings….

  • The year will be late 2024 and waiting patiently for the bull run to begin.

  • Assuming your in Sydney I'd be brainstorming ideas to help with those who aren't treating your lockdown seriously so that you can enjoy your bucket list sooner, at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if it kept getting extended to christmas and beyond…

do nothing more than I do now really. Live in rural Qld haven't really had a stay at home lockdown that has disrupted life apart from lack of toilet paper during first outbreak.

take a break from work. Been very exhausting for the last 2 years working as a nurse. I have around 400+ hours of annual leave.

Get married and honeymoon in NZ van 2 weeks

I wonder how much longer we’re going to suffer lockdown on this planet. I’m looking forward to feeling the moon dust between my toes, or marvelling at a Martian sunrise. So I have my deal alert set for the next (first?) space OzBargain. Can’t wait for this planetary lockdown to be over.

Haven't been in lockdown as long as you guys so my list isn't too ambitious

    • visit friends again regularly, jackbox doesn't cut it
    • look after niece again regularly
    • get hair cut

If there was a version of lockdown that let you visit family and friends but you also had to work from home I would be all over that

staying at home, because the hoards of people that will be filling places up when lockdown eases it's gonna be super busy and crowded,

i'll probably wait a few weeks when the initial excitement has run it's course and probably would love to eat out again.

  • Haircut. Then seeing friends and family

  • Sit at home and enjoy the view.

It depends on what 'freedom' looks like because if it means being seated at a pub and not allowed to stand up, I might as well stay home where I can invite my friends and we can eat, drink and karaoke and do whatever, seated, standing, on our heads etc.

Travel 6km, just for the hell of it.

Just out of a 2 week stay at home order in Qld thanks to an ACT work trip - first thing I did, haircut. Second, a drink in a bar. Ahhh….

    • What's stopping you from doing this now?

At the end of VIC's extended lockdown last year, it seemed that most people went out for a haircut and ate out. It was almost impossible to get a booking for either of services.

A laser session and facial were also on the top of the priority lists for a lot of my female friends! 😊

Vote for a (slightly) more competent and (possibly) less criminal and corrupt government (state and federal).

    • wouldn't matter what side of politics was in power during this pandemic. it would of all been the same.

      • I think some others not in power currently wouldn’t have been in Hawaii or junketing to the UK.

        • that might be the case… they might be holidaying or junketing as you say else where.. the beauty of it is, you wont know till it happens, and when it does there will be another group of people complaining,

no matter what government is in power there will always people complaining,

there is no such thing as a perfectly governed country

          • @Archi: If only the ones currently in control took the real advice and not just perform at 11am for the cameras.
At least that’s the case in Afgladystan Berejiklistan.
