Have been seeing a lot of headset deals lately. So many to choose from.
Ended up picking these as they have solid reviews for sound and mic ability.

All time low according to CCC I believe.

  • Great headset

  • Better or worse than Cloud II's?

  • +1

I don't have cloud II, but i have the wireless version of this. Great headset.

    Hi all,

Please be mindful this version most likely is wired, even though the picture doesn't show a wire coming out of the headset.

    • Goddamnit, bought one yesterday and got caught out. Thought it was such good pricing.

      • This was me last year :(

  • Looking for the wireless version.

  • For those with this line of headphones, what is the ear pad size like? I wear a hearing aid and need a little extra room above my ear to accommodate the hearing aid device + air gap for the hearing aid microphones to pick up sound.

    • +1

its shallow af, haven't tried the spare earpads but I assume theyre same size. My big ears hurt from sitting directly on the speakers inside the cup.

      • Thanks for the feedback. I'll give these a miss then.

    • +1

I have the wireless version of this headset, which should be very similar.

It came with the leather texture ear pad at stock, which I changed out for the cloth texture (leather tends to sweat my ears)

The cloth ear pad inner diameter is approx. 3.5cm horizontal, 7cm vertical/height, 1.5cm depth. Keep in mind it can obviously compress/sponge to provide a bit more slack.

Clamping force is minimal and comfortable.

Would you like me to measure my other headset Razer Blackshark V2 Pro?

      • +1

Thanks Ausdave. That's very helpful. They're very similar (if not slightly better) than another pair of headphones I have that work alright with my hearing aid. The vertical measurement is the big one for me, and that should have enough clearance.

  • is this wireless or wired?

    • +1

      Wired.

      OP please add to title.

      • +1

        Cheers, added to title.

        • Thanks guys👍

  • I bought those

    (I haven't received them yet)

    Are the logitech ones better?

    • Ones wired and ones wireless. So not really an apple's to apples when asking if they're "better"

      • +1

I didn't realise the Logitech one was wired.
        (looks wireless on the photo)

  • any better logitech headsets for work?

  • get the wireless one

    DT990 pro gang

      Still have a wallet gang

      • +1

Actually compare to a lot of these wireless headset price dt 770 pro and 990 pro are not that expensive from amazon

    • DT770 pro
      The 990 leak too much

      • +1

Yes but i cant go back to closed back any more, just upgraded from ad700x to 990 pro, the pressure feeling from closed back drive me crazy, its like you dont feel it until you go open back, then closed back never fee the same anymore :(

      • They're open back, that's intentional.

I 100% recommend this headset. I've been using it for roughly a year and it has the best microphone I reckon that isn't an external microphone. I usually use these for gaming.

  • So a few people here are saying get the wireless one. I've got a question that maybe someone could answer here regarding wireless headset.

I've got a Sony WH-1000XM3 and Airpods Pro. Every time I've connected them to my laptop (Windows 10) via Bluetooth and had Discord open I've encountered the issue that I'm unable to listen to an outside audio source (e.g. YouTube or Spotify) while using the microphone in a discord call. The other issue is that sometimes the mouse lags in game (for example League of Legends). I did a lot of searching and it seems that this is somewhat of a common issue - mainly the outside audio source component.

I now resort to using my wired Sony Gold PS4 Headset and that works well. Ideally, I'd prefer wireless - but I don't want to buy something only for the above to happen. Any recommendations on a wireless headset doesn't cause the issues above? My assumption is that a few gamers in here would be using a headset that doesn't cause any of the above issues with discord/other audio sources etc

    • Is your mouse also Bluetooth? In terms of peripheral connectivity wireless and Bluetooth are different. If your issue is interference on Bluetooth you shouldn’t have the same issue with a wireless headset.

      • Yeah its the Logitech M337 Bluetooth mouse. So, do the majority of wireless gaming headsets connect via USB? I just checked and the Logitech G PRO X connects via USB wireless. I've never looked into gaming headsets before - hence why I never realised that this could be the case.

When I googled my discord audio issue - the answer was basically it was Bluetooth related. My thought process now is that if I was to buy a wireless gaming headset that connects via USB - it should as you say - theoretically have no issues (with discord - audio source) as it's different to Bluetooth.

The mouse lag only happened when I had discord open and used BT headphones. However, I just noticed that a lot of gaming mice also connect via USB.

        • +2

Bluetooth is a laggy protocol so is not advised for mice, keyboards and headsets if you play games. Any "gaming" peripheral you buy that says wireless will use a wireless USB receiver, usually they would specify Bluetooth separately. I wouldn't expect you to have the same issue if you bought a wireless non-bluetooth headset.

          • @brimmy11: Completely agree, blew my mind that I didn't think of this when I looked into headsets. You're a legend, I'm on the hunt for wireless gaming headsets. I'm looking at the Astros A50 which look good - the only downside being I would have preferred a little USB receiver rather than the base itself. Will keep looking though.

            Thanks again :)

Is it good for Ms teams also? With mute button?

  • +2

Got a big head? This headset is not for you.

    • I've got a dome the size of Gladys's inability to run a state and I have no issues.

  • +1

Great headset but I've gone through two of them as the plastic hinges keep snapping because I have a big head. On my third currently (All replaced under warranty so kudos to JBHifi & Logitech!) and I've taped up both sides to reinforce them so hopefully it doesn't happen again.

EDIT: My bad, thought these were the wireless version. Still I imagine there's the same issue as the build is exactly the same.

    • How’s the comfort of these on a big ol’head like yours?
      - Just another curious boofhead

      • It's nice and snug which is why I went with them. The cups are very comfortable and I've done LOOOOOONG gaming sessions with them on without issues or heat buildup. They grip well so I can raise and lower my head and they never fall off. I do still recommend them, just reinforce the hinges like in my picture!

        • Just checking ‘snug’ doesn’t mean high clamping force? Really need a comfy pair! Also how large are the ear pads? (:

Haha will definitely reinforce them as you suggest! Have some nice black electrical tape on the ready haha!

Edit* read another commenter above stating not for big heads for comfort! Ty though

          • @Edamamme: It's not heavy clamping but it does sit comfortably so that it doesn't slip and slide around.

I cannot find the comment RE: comfort in your edit. They are the comfiest headphones I've used which is why I've stuck with them rather than buy a different model

  • holding out for Corsair HS80 wireless

  • Anyone coming from AStro's A40 can commit on the difference?

    • +1

Don't own either of these headsets, but will note the Astros are open back as standard (though you can buy a mod kit to convert to closed back), Logitechs will be closed back. Usually helps with reducing external noise, but will likely have a slightly more closed soundstage compared to Astros - though this can also make you feel more immersed.

  • Are these any good for music also?
I understand their for gaming but would like to also use it for music sometimes.

  • Great price for an okay headset :)

  • This vs the ATH-AG1X?

  • Got one. Thanks OP. Agree to many choices!
