This will come in handy if Switzerland if ever attacked by potatoes.

Or if you’re lost in the wilderness without food or water but still concerned about the skin on fruit/veg…

  • My M-I-L gave us one to replace our decades old peeler. It really does a fantastic job. That being said, I have no idea how much our old peeler cost. So I can't do a proper cost-benefit analysis. Taken on it's own, it works a treat. If it isn't orders of magnitude more expensive than a no-name peeler, then I suppose it's worth it.

Got it when wrapped up in Xmas wrapping paper?

Nah. She lives overseas and is always bringing stuff with her when she visits. Nowadays, because of restrictions, she's been sending stuff via post!

  • Only Black left for the discounted price..

    Grabbed a black. Thx OP.

Edit: Change to the Amazon AU seller instead of Victorinox still gives discount.. Changed to orange, cancelled black.

Did anyone check the reviews? It appears they are not great!

Really? 4.8 of or 5 stars with over 2000 reviews and you say reviews are bad?

I have one and its mint, love it.
    Also Red OOS

  • This is one of those things that you really don't think about but makes a huge difference in cooking.

We got given a matching set of Analon cooking utensils as part of our wedding gifts 12 years ago. The peeler is still razor sharp and is so easy to use. Every time I go to my in-laws place and have to go back to using those crappy plastic ones, I realise how much I use my Analon peeler, and how much better it is. I don't know about this particular one, but a good-quality peeler is a great investment.

  • Is this really that much better than these from Woolies at 4 for $2?
    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/16981/esse…

I find the Woolies ones work well so long as you replace them when they wear out. This Victorinox one would need to outlast 16 of the Woolies ones.

    • i got one, so we'll see. I have 2 cheapies at home, and they have been working perfectly for years. After trying the victorinox knives i thought it could be worth it to test this peeler. I don't think there wont be any difference i quality or performance, unless you are peeling something REALLY hard, like a pumpkin.

      • Nice double negative
"I don't think there wont be any difference"

        • guess I'll have to continue improving my english.

    • See my comment above, I'm not sure about this one in particular, but once you've used a proper peeler you'll never want to use those garbage plastic ones again.

And to the point of value, we're still using the same one 12 years later with no signs of needing a new one.
