I highly recommend box white switches if you're into clickies. They're perfect, imo.

    • +8

You going to leave the Box Jades hanging out there to dry like that?

      • jades are too tactile for my experience, i like navies better

      • I tried a set of Jade's too, nice but too jarring. My fingers would get sore after a bit and they're too loud for night typing.

    • True I took a gamble on them also and they are like clicky butter. Intrigued by the jade too

mmmm…. thanks PCCG. $18 shipping to Canberra.

  • +6

Cheaper to buy from their eBay store if you’re eBay Plus members.

For me, it’s $109 +$16 delivery = $125 delivered from their website but $119 from their eBay store.

    • +1

It doesn't seem to work now.

i love PCCG, however since they close down their pickup location. Most of the time, not just sometimes anymore the price + shipping is not worth it anymore, i rather go to centre comp, scorptec or part.pdf

    • +24

      LMAO part.pdf, perfect

  • +15

As usual shipping ruins a PCCG deal

  • In my opinion WASD keyboards are the #1 although $120ish delivered is a good price.

PLEASE BEWARE: This keyboard is known to have key chattering issues (repeating keys) which I experienced on multiple keys days after purchasing it. Using "Keyboard Chatter Fix", I was able to log more than 5 keys repeating which I took a screenshot of and sent it to PCCG. They seem to be aware of the issue as well since the return was no questions asked.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY IT IF YOU GAME OR ARE A FAST TYPER. It is also all over Reddit as well. Unfortunately, updating firmware, changing cables, cleaning the keys do not fix the issue.

I have returned mine a few days ago and PCCG has refunded me minus the shipping cost.

If you doon't minnnd your seeentences like this, gooo for it! :)

    • Do you recall which switches yours had?

      • +3

I bought the Kailh BOX Red. I believe that all Kailh switches might have the issue and hence the discount. It's a shame because I enjoyed the keyboard very much. Also, note that Kailh switches for the ONE 2 SF no longer exist on Ducky's website

        • I don't think that's the case with the switches. I used box jades and pinks (later swapped to ink blacks and sherbets) for an extended amount of time on my custom NK65 and TOFU60, never had issues.

          • @mikuno: Sorry, it’s probably a batch issue is what I meant. Kailh’s are great according to my experience as well

        • I’ve got this with the reds and never had any issues. 100 to 110 words per minute. Does it only affect some of them?

          • @cnut: I believe so for I am only one sample size. (And the Reddit posts I guess). But then again, key chattering is more noticeable for some than others, especially for competitive gamers. If in doubt, test it with software. I’ve only noticed it because my “c” key was chattering, and whenever I crouch in a game I play, the movement goes out of control.

          • @cnut: yeah only some, its a pcb issue
            * and switches

            • @Jostur: That’s a shame. I love the switches and feel of mine. In my 15 odd keyboards I’ve had in recent memory, it’s probably my favorite.

      • +1

I've got Cherry MX brown switches on my One 2 SF and am having the same issue so it's definitely an issue with the board itself.

        • Same with Silent Reds, only with my spacebar though.

You should push PCCG to give you return shipping refund also as keyboard is not "fit for purpose" if it is doing this. They tried on the same shit with me once or twice and if you push it they should send you the return shipping cost if you provide the receipt as it is illegal for them not to. If they still try to dodge it link them to the acc website and let them know you are going to 'take this further' if they refuse.

      https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees…
it has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying it if they’d known about it
it doesn’t do what you asked for and can’t easily be fixed within a reasonable time

      https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees…
You are entitled to recover reasonable postage or transportation costs from the business if the product is confirmed to have a problem, so keep your receipts.

      • +3

Yeah, I was thinking of that, it is definitely against the law to not return me the shipping. I did a quick search and find that PCCG does this to everyone haha. Thanks for reminding me.

PCCG: Most expensive PC parts store, with some of the worst customer service to boot. No idea why people why people buy components at full price from that store.

          • @Tyrx: 100% agree - they used to be awesome but they've gone down hill over the last few years.

            • +1

@gentlekoala5906: Really? I've used them for my last 4 purchases with 1 warranty return and they were surprisingly good with the return process. I find myself always going back to their site for their range.

              • @mordinhoz: Yeah last purchase was a ducky keyboard, which died a few days after use. Submitted an RMA and it took them a week to respond.

They confirmed it had died, but by then they were all out of stock of that particular keyboard and gave me a refund.

Purchased the same keyboard from mechanicalkeyboards.com for cheaper and it arrived within 3 days from the USA (PCCG had taken 1.5 weeks to initially ship it). Been fine ever since :/

            • @gentlekoala5906: When I was trying to get parts for my mITX build I had a pre-order case with them.

They took so long to even arrange it that I got fed up and bought one from Scorptec that arrived in 1-2 days of purchasing…

          • @Tyrx: Besides Scorptec, any other reliable retailer you can recommend?

        • You can still claim return postage after the fact, as stated by the ACCC when they state to keep postage receipts. Don't miss out on your full refund!

          • +1

@NobalaKoba: Thanks, everyone! I just sent PCCG a message via eBay and linked the website to them as well. Cheers :)

            • @RobBoss: If they're difficult, contact eBay or file a consumer complaint at the appropriate location (eg Access Canberra).

It's easy to do and gets a good response.

    • Thanks for the heads up. I need to replace my Logitech which is doing the same thing (also notorious for it). Are there mechanicals where this type of thing can't happen or should I be looking at membrane?

      • +1

Optical is your answer, my friend, I have switched to a Huntsman TE (too sensitive for typing) don't recommend haha. But plenty of good optical switches out there.

    • I bought Ducky one 2 SF with cherry switches a year ago. It is great! Started to chatter 6 months into the purchase but then stopped a month after completely. It is working a charm now.

      • As I mentioned, you could log it with a couple keyboard chatter fix softwares out there. Some chattering are less noticeable than others but the software will definitely pick it up. Also, I do think the cherry switches might be better

        • +2

I'm convinced its Ducky's dogshite pcbs and not the switches, happens on other cheap keyboards as well regardless of switch.

          • @Jostur: Mine got fixed by itself! now it is perfectly fine

    • I have cherry red silent with no issues at all. Been using it for 3 months at work, really amazing.

    • Got this on the deal for same price a few months ago… no issues so far but I hope I don't get this also!!!

    • +1

As someone with this keyboard, I can attest to this - I've tried everything, I have Kailh Box Red, and the b, u and y keys double type slightly less than 1/20 keystrokes. Feels really nice as a keyboard, and for me it's not the end of the world, but yeah if that's a dealbreaker for you then don't get it.

      • How long did you own it when issues showed?

  • +3

The keyboard light would stays on even after I've turned off my computer, which didn't happen to my other keebs. Only Ducky has this weird thing. Pisses me off.

    • Mine too

      • +1

And if you're looking for a solution, there's none. Only telling you to tinker with your USB port power settings - but it doesn't happen to other keebs yo!

        • +1

I also recalled long pressing Shift FN T or something to be a temporary fix

    • Ok this is a deal breaker for me. Thanks

This helped me fix that issue with my ducky SF.

    • +1

You have to insert the USB into a IO port without the Lightning icon.

      • You're missing the point here. My other keebs don't have this issue, only Ducky. It's just a normal USB 3 port.

        • +1

Sure. Doesn't happen to me though and i'm very happy with the keyboard.

  • Does anyone know if it comes with alternative keys for a Mac?

    • No it comes with some coloured key caps and Lunar New Year theme ones. What you’re looking for is Keychron if for Mac or you know replace them yourself

  • I got the SF with box brown and couldn't be happier with it. I realised how much I use the arrow keys and don't think I'd love the mini.

    • Yeah I regret going the size down. Arrow keys are a lifesaver and the size is only one row wider.

      • I had a 60% and the lack of arrow keys was shitting me. The Ducky 65% is the sweet spot.

  • +2

I like the board, having bought one, but mine has major issues.

1 - I can't boot my Dell laptop with it plugged in. It freezes. Pull it out of the USB and off its goes. Spent ages troubleshooting it. Firmware, all the possible bios combinations.. nope.

    2) the led lighting PWM is shocking and gives me a near instant headache. It's maybe 100hz. Evil. I can't use the lighting on this at all. Makes it darn hard to read.

  • Oh thank god i waited. I was going to buy these from the same store like 2 days ago.

  • got a camelcamelcamel alert yesterday when the roccat vulcan 120 aimo mechanical kb was reduced to $139, would have posted the deal but there was only 1 in stock. very nice looking keyboard with brown switches

  • The question is Ducky One 2 with Kailh for 109$ OR Keychron K12 with Gateron switches for 119$ on eBay (Free Delivery).

A quick Google search shows that Gateron is better. Though I am no expert on Keyboards and switches!

    • +1

I have both the ducky in this deal, and a K2 keychron. The ducky is a to y bit harder to press or maybe a tiny bit more travel. The gaterons at a small amount "smoother". Overall I prefer the ducky.

Very subjective however. (Both are browns)

      • Cool, Thanks for the insight.

  • ive had the SF for over a year now and it is great and compact!

  • Ducky keyboards are the best! So happy to have a mechanical keyboard not made in China.
Taiwanese build quality is up there with Japanese :D

  • Bought this last week at this price - reasonable shipping to WA, and it came express.

  • I've been using this same keyboard with the BOX Silent Pinks since June, really happy with the keyboard and I have not experienced the above mentioned "key chattering" issues when typing or gaming, or LED light staying turned on after shutting off my PC. Perhaps only affected certain batches?

  • +1

Also worth mentioning, this keyboard has a high input latency tested by rtings at 18.5ms
    https://www.rtings.com/keyboard/reviews/ducky/one-2-sf
    https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/mlwqy9…

It's honestly quite negligible as I haven't noticed it at all compared to my previous Vortex Poker II, but thought I would point it out

  • what is the different between this one and : Ducky One 2 Mini?

    Anyone know?

    • 60% vs 65%

    • Mini does not have arrow switches hence 60%
