Discounts on devices expected to be replaced this month. I’d wait.

    • +28

Wait to pay full price on the replacement devices?
Or wait another couple of years until the replacement devices are discounted, on the eve of the next-replacement devices, and then wait again? It’s a pickle, that’s for sure.

buy new gen with 28 degrees and claim the price drops along the way for a year. winning.

Buy new gen with coles mc and claim the price drops along the way for two years. Double winnings.

          • +1

@zonra: wow had no idea coles mc had p/p - is it still available?

            • @Jimothy Wongingtons: Only for those who activated prior to the change unfortunately (grandfathered in).

              • @zonra: Thought so. I’ve claimed a fair bit on my grandfathered 28d, and eventually I’m sure I’ll pass the lifetime benefit max…

Haven’t seen a good alternative since

              • @zonra: Do you know what the best option is with price protection I could apply for as a new customer today?

                • @Doy: Sorry I can’t help here. I’ve only got a 28d and a coles MC with p/p and still kicking myself I didnt get partner to sign up as well.
Like others I’ve claimed a fair chunk into the lifetime limit (20k) and fretting the day I’ll reach it on both. It does seem like a deal too good to be true which might be why most issuers are not offering it anymore (or have really strict rules regarding what and how you can claim).

@zonra: to latitude's credit (lol) - they are actually super flexible in what gets approved. Have tried to not push them and only match against fair deals.

      • Was glad I waiting on replacing my Apple Watch 2 with a Watch 5 from the JB hifi deal. I was hoping for some kinda old model clearance deals and the JB hifi one didnt disappoint

  • Is this the one with the wireless charging case

    • No

    • yes if its the pro

      • A version of the AirPods 2nd gen came with a wireless charging case, but that's the more expensive one.

Airpods are only going to get cheaper, Apple was reported to be sourcing suppliers for parts for the next generation of airpods, I would expect those to be released at the same time as the new iOS and iphones.

Just worth keeping in mind if you want the latest and greatest.

    • There are reportedly supply issues, so could be released later

  • The air pods pro on Amazon seem to be not Australian stock from reviews, anyone had any experience with buying them?

    • +1

It's a common tactic by Amazon. It's how they can sell them cheaper.

      • Probably better to get a JB 5% off gift card through RACQ and buy from them in that case, have them for same price. Thanks.

        • this, i specifically bought from jb for this reason

    • +5

Reviewers are saying it’s ‘made for Malaysia’ hence not local. They don’t realise that AU stock is actually the same ‘made for Malaysia’. Bought mine local and says the same.

      • Thanks, this is the information I was after. Time to get my 3% off amazon card from Suncorp rewards :)

  • An ok price, but I would hold out for a while longer until the next gen Airpods are announced. The will fall in price by quite a bit when that happens.

  • +4

airpod pro is for $295 as well that qualifies for $20 credit

    • Ordered them from Amazon, should be here tomorrow will report on authenticity.

      • +1

If the model no. on the box is MWP22ZA/A then that’ll be local stock (same as JB etc.)

        • +2

Just recieved it and yep that's the one…awesome! Just did the warranty registration all checkedout and valid for apple care.

Buy, wait for $20 credit. Then return

    • Aside from it being sus, don't you have to pay return postage anyway if it's a change of mind? That's like $8 plus the bother.
