ILIFE W455 Floor Washing Robot 49% off US$324.20 (AU$435.75) Delivered @ Ilife Official Store AliExpress

40

Was looking for a mopping robot and besides the really expensive iroombas there's not too much to choose from.

The older iLife w400 was well received in a review last year but didn't have some of the features the more expensive robot mops had, such as app control and route planning. Now they've introduce this new model which has the lot and much larger liquid capacity than the competition.

Be aware it's a robot mop with a dedicated mop function, so don't think you can use it for a dry vaccum run first, stand to be corrected.

  • I used to have a Roomba version of this and it worked well for cleaning but was impractical. Unlike mopping you need to clear the floor first and it’s terribly slow to be able to get enough wet floor time. Faster machines just won’t have enough soak time for dirt to lift. I ended up replacing with a Bissell manual Crosswave instead and it’s much easier.

  • Doesn't seem to come with an AU plug?

    • They say they ship with AU plug if order is from Aust/NZ

  • Its mechanical, mop dies, then post here, how can I get this fixed, whats the cheapest way to ship package to China.

I was concerned about this also. However I joined the iLife group on Facebook and also messaged their team run by the American head office I believe.

Told them before I purchased that not readily available here and the only online store that sells it has bad reviews.

Asked what happens with warranty given it's not sold here officially.

They told me they have people buy from Aliexpress all over the world and they get that it's not feasible to always send the unit back.

They said what normally happens is that they get you to send videos to trouble shoot and they will send the part via mail accompanied with a videos on how to replace the part your self.

If the process is that simple and whether they do that or not I hope I never have to find out.

There was one past recently though where the guy said that they sent him the part in the mail after using the above procedure so I guess that might be a hint it's true.

      • Fair enough, better than just being completely on your own.

I also can repair my car, pull apart the computer and fix the toaster, and know ways of shipping internationally.

My point is for those who just believe that everything just works everytime, and expect our consumer laws instantly cover everything because we live in Australia.

100 % agree regarding Aus consumer laws. Pretty much out of luck if it does break and they don't want to help

  • Apply coupon 99SD16 at checkout to get it down to US$319.20

Yeah I bought this from them for $500 when it first came out Andre weeks ago.
Love it! The amount of filth it scrapes off the floor is impressive.

I run my xiaomi vac through the kitchen to pick up dirt and dust etc. Then I run the iLife W455.

It squirts water as it goes and has a roller which basically spins really fast rubbing at the ground, scrubbing the floor, it then has a vacuum that sucks up all the dirty water and a squeegee that slides across so all that water and filth goes right into the vacuum.

You can controll how much water it sprays down, how slow you want the vac to go and how fast you want the roller to spin.

Everything counts and varies depending on the floor you have and how much has built up since you last used it.

I have been using it about 1 to 2 times a week with

    Water 70%
    Roller 80%
    Speed 15%

So far it's brilliant. However no lidar so mapping is not as good as my xiaomi gen 2. It sometimes gets a bit lost especially once it's pretty much finished and it tries to go back and cover places it's left.

The scrubber is about 25cms long in the centre. There is about 3cms on either side of that where the wheels are so it can't scrub anything within a few cms of a wall but everything else is good.

If I know of spots that have stuck on dirt that might have been there for a few days I just spray it with a water bottle a few mins before starting the vac to make sure it's fairly moist by the time it gets there.

I'm impressed how black and gunky the tank is when emptying it.

I'm yet to leave a full review on AliExpress. I wanted to give it a few weeks to really get a feel for it. I was the 2nd person who ordered it when it released so didn't want to jump the review gun.

  • Looks great, but estimated shipping is before Nov 27? :(

    • Mine took about 1.5 weeks

      • Oh great, thanks for info :)

  • These were available here earlier with local warranty. Maybe send them an email for eta.

    • Yeah w450 is this is 455. Not sure what the difference is.
I did research that local store and they have horrible reviews over at Whirlpool

Need someone like Gear Bite to bulk buy these so we don't get stung the $129 freight. At $300 delivered this would be a great buy

  • Just an update if anyone ends up trying to find a review or any info on this.

It arrived about 1.5 weeks after ordering, was shipped from a Vic warehouse it seems.

The robot itself is great, like the review above has been working really well the few times I've used it now.

If you use it as a bi weekly clean it's perfect. Spot cleaning, I reckon you mught as well dot it yourself, not that it can't just that it'll do it a lot slower.

Did feel a bit cheap because it uses shitty plastic as a cover but everything else is pretty solid and easy to use.

I use it in conjunction with my mi robot doing a first sweep, but this mop was able to get debris it missed as well. Overall pretty damn happy and glad i found this option over the iroomba. Guess time will tell on how long it'll last. But if it's all "Sony guts" should be right.

    • Yeah I use my xiaomi vac before running this.
      Really happy with it.

      • How does the mapping work? I've seen some reviews saying the camera is fake and you need to control it with the remote like an RC car. Is that right or can it find its way around? And does it avoid carpets?

  • Not sure about carpets as we have tiles or wood but mine works it's way around that pretty well.
It's camera and not lidar so it's not perfect.
