  • Seems expensive. what are the stand out features that makes it worth so much more?

    • +4

Its a gallium nitride charger mate. One of the smallest in the world for 66w and 3-ports. It replaces 3 different chargers for your laptop, tablet and smartphone. Supports most fast charging protocols and comes with 3 travel adapters. You can check more via our Kickstarter campaign

    • Also, there are other cheaper alternative GaN chargers as well but most of them will reset every time a new device is connected or disconnected.

      • +1

What do you mean by 'reset'?

        • +1

For instance you are charging a laptop at 65W. When you connect a phone while charging the laptop, some chargers reset (like power off and then power on) to distribute the power. So your laptop charging will stop and start. If you disconnect the phone, the laptop charging will again stop and start. The Powerpod distributes without resetting.

          • +1

@ibelievesyd: I've noticed my Zyron unit "reset" after other devices are plugged in. Charging a Pixel 4A, Chromebook on the USB-C ports and a smartwatch on the USB-A connection.

            • +1

@busterau: Does it happen occasionally or every time? Please take a video and send to [email protected]

              • @ibelievesyd: Pretty sure it's every time. I will take some footage and send it through.

              • +1

@ibelievesyd: I can confirm it only occurs on the USB-C ports. If I plug in my chromebook the pixel 4 A briefly stops charging and then restarts pretty quickly. If I do the same with my pixel 4A the chromebook does the same.

I tried a usb-c power bank and plugged in whilst connected to the pixel 4a and chromebook and it interupts both as well.

                Seems to happen each time.

The USB-A seems to continue working without interuption.

      • I 100% agree to this. By reset OP means they power disconnects briefly and turns back on to power up any additional devices that are connected after initial device!

  • I'd like to support, but your website SSL cert isnt valid and the whole website is down?

  • eBay price not updated yet? ;-)

  • Can it charge Dell latitude 7410?
    thank you

    • Yes it can :)

  • Oooo, is this the new one ?

    • Hey mate. This is the 65W one. This is the link to the 100W (up to 156W max) version: Deskpod

      • Perfect, thanks. Any news on the 90W one?

        • Probably end of Nov mate

  • I'm sure there is some science behind it. But why do all these charges drop wattage when using C1 and C2 together? I really wish I could find C1 at 45w and C2 at 18w. Rather than 30 and 30.

    • +2

It depends on the device you connect mate. Laptop + Laptop (30W+30W). Laptop + Phone (45W+18W)

      • Just to clarify if I do my phone and laptop they will pull the power they need and I'll get 45 and 18 from the two USB C ports?

    • You can check the Deskpod. It can power up to 60W+60W+18W+18W simultaneously.

  • Been looking at this for a while. Bought! Thanks mate!

    • Cheers

I'm so confused. This and Heymix look exactly the same. I'm guessing this is cheaper so that's a plus.

We should support a Small Australian business?
    Is it made in Australia?

    • Only a well established company can make in Australia mate. Probably in 5 years time :) I don't think even the major brands like Cygnett, Alogic or Belkin are made in Australia

      • -1

well, then I would support an australian business supporting china.
It would be better not to mention the Australian Business thing as it is just marketing

        • +1

It is mainly for awareness mate that Zyron is an Australian brand compared to other alternatives in the market like US - Anker, Hyper, Zendure; CN - Baseus, Ugreen, Choetech, etc

          • @ibelievesyd: I’m intrigued to see people in the industry sees Anker and Zendure as US brands.

            (They’re not)

      • Do you see the industry and 'made in Australia' going towards a positive direction in the future?

    • -1

So what's made in Australia at TGG and JB ? You never bought from them ?

  • +1

Can recommend this charger, it is so compact and well made.

  • +1

Black colour, case and extension cable for a little bit more: https://www.amazon.com.au/HEYMIX-Charger-Compatible-Extensio…

    • Why there are 2 different chargers in the review on Amazon?

  • According to the Amazon review, plug is upside down which is not the AU plug, Actually not designed to Australian market at all as it is Chinese plug. There is no point to mention Australian base Kickstarter project, if there is no change of the plug type. It not hard to ask to manufacturer make it Actual AU type plug when order. Heymix one looks better value as it comes with more accessories such as 100w usb-c cable, extension and case.

    • The charger was launched on Kickstarter first for international audience. After the community recommendation over the past 2-3 months we have rectified the logo to match the AU plug. Current stock in Amazon warehouse has both, old inverted logo and corrected logo. So essentially some may get the charger with old logo and some with new. regardless we have rectified the logo orientation according to the AU plug now.

      • That’s good design modification until everyone gets same one. But my point is plug itself is Chinese type I not Australian type I.

      • Too funny - you put the logo on the product upside down as a fix for a non-Aus plug! With all your collaboration with the manufacturer why not get them to put an Aus plug the right way on the product?

    • Alos, the charger has a default US pin with AU, EU and UK plugs included. Not sure where you saw the Chinese pin.

      • Chinese not only use US type plug (type A)but also use similar Australian type plug however upside down both called type I. Manufacturer knows these details anyway.

  • I got the HeyMix doppelgänger, which cost me more, but came with a USB-C PD cable.

Form factor is great though - the GaN charger is ultra compact, and feels very solid.

  • Cheers mate, its always good to be supporting an Aussie business, and this looks good. Grabbed one.

    • Thanks mate. You won't be disappointed for sure :) The support from the Ozbargain community has been unbelievable. We'll keep adding more top quality products.

      • Hi, the charger is great. my wife loves how it is so small and streamline for charging 2 or 3 devices at the kitchen bench, and it charges very fast.

        Quick postage too.
        Cheers

        • Glad to hear that :) Would really appreciate if you could leave a review on the platform that you purchased :)

  • Have a couple of your power banks and been happy with them. Been waiting for a sale on these. Grabbed two. Thanks!

  • Mopoint and Hyper have had the exact same charger out for a while now too. Do these all come from the same factory?

    • +1

      Yes mate.

  • Just picked one up. Thanks mate!

    • Cheers mate :)

  • Haha Good timing! I just got my m1 MacBook air and was looking to get a GaN charger! Picked one :)

  • Says it wont ship the deskpod to VIC

    • Fixed. Please try again

      • Thanks working now.
