  • Thanks and ordered one!

  • Looking at the pics, there is no metal mesh netting? If true, I doubt this will cook and perform as well as philips and other airfryers.

Great price. Just read some reviews on the tefal website though, so I guess YMMV.

    • Great product, food comes out really nice, the only issue is that the handle is too weak for the bucket weight specially when the insert is in and when trying to shake any food in it as in the manual to do with fries the handle falls off and the bucket drops which is a hazard, I will avoid mixing the food in this manner and see how it goes, if it becomes worse then it is not worth keeping.

    • Teflon coating inside is easily scratched with the back of a sponge. Says it can do 1.2kg. Can only fit about 800g worth of anything in the tray. I attempted a 1kg bag of fries and it doesn't fit. Heating element gets covered in whatever is cooking a inside, not easy to clean and I'm sure it affects it performance over time.

  • +1

The problem with air fryers in general is that the heating element and it's surrounding area get very dirty over time and it is just very hard if not impossible to clean them. Is there any model that tackle this problem?

    • +1
    • I had a Phillips XXL and I think I got a lot of fat or something on the element and it started to smell weird.. and in my mind carcinogenic.

Not sure how to clean it yet.. maybe oven cleaner? and lots of subsequent wiping down to get rid of oven cleaner..

  • Ordered one thanks op

      Mine's shipped.

    • Mine shipped too

  • My mistake holding off but undecisive between Tefal and the 3 in 1 with air roaster for similar price.

I like 3 in 1 but wife wants the Tefal for the brand and probably better quality. Any opinions?

    https://www.target.com.au/p/bellini-11l-air-fryer-bafo2/6254…

    • Bellini is also good, actually its one of the best. you cant go wrong. i looked at Canstar and Bellini is at top but for the price of Tefal i couldn't resist. i bought the Tefal just to see how it is, its my first Air Fryer. My friend cooks chicken often in the air fryer and its sooooo good. that's the main reason i bought it.

      • Your friend uses Tefal? My wife somehow distrusts kmart or target brand due to reports bad airfryer may crack benchtop or splashback.

        • nah he uses a Phillips fryer i use a Tefal rice cooker and cant complain, have also used tefal juicers etc. even my wife would be a bit hesitant with target kmart brands, though Canstar says its the best you cant always rely on that.

          • @sammyla: True, choice.com.au just bashed kmart brand. The only reason i like the Bellini is the air roasting feature and how the different trays we can use. Thanks

      • Bellini looks good - I just bought the Tefal one but reading a lot of reviews with Error Codes causing problems

        • Lets hope we don't get that issue, i'm sure they will replace the fryer if something like that happens. I've never had a retailer refusing to replace a faulty item so should be OK.

I don't like the style of the 3 in 1 types that you've linked. They're more like an oven. I like to throw food in the basket, shake it a couple of times and pull it out done.

I find the baskets in the 3 in 1 far more difficult to clean and annoying to get food in and out of, especially out of when hot. It does rotate the food on a good day, but food can stick to the basket. It's fine, but the air fryer is just so easy. I've done a whole chicken or a roast pork in the normal air fryers and they work well too. I do flip them, so start with the bottom up and flip it about halfway through, comes out great.

I couldn't tell you how many times I've used the regular air fryer over the years, probably hundreds of times. I've used the oven style about 5 times (I actually sold it for about $5 at a garage sale, I couldn't be bothered giving it a good clean before it went). I had issues with the rotisserie, but it wasn't a brand name one, didn't seem to be able to support the weight of a small chicken. Just my personal preference though, others seem to like the oven style ones. I guess they're bigger and you can layer things. Worked pretty well for home made potato cakes. I should also note that I cook for 1, so if you're cooking for a family that may also impact the size/type you want/need.

      • Yea, a family of 4. I want to br able to fry chips at once. And whole chicken at once lol

  • Item back in stock at $159, no longer expired.

  • Cheers OP! Great price and just checked and is back in stock. Had to grab one :)

Edit: Bugger spoke too soon! Just got a refund email :(

    • received mine this morning as well

      • wow thats quick, im in vic too but mine aint coming till next week, you must be up in the list.

        • I'm in Vic. Mine says 23-29Sep. Based on how it's been travelling so far I think 29th is about right. They received it on Saturday for processing, first event was today it was processed in SW Sydney (not a good sign). Oh well, not urgent, just upgrading the current model.

        • I am in NSW(Same state), probably that's the reason.

  • Back in stock again!

    • Are you sure? I can't get to add it to my cart and it is showing $399!

      • Yup, that was yesterday. It goes up to normal price again now.

Anyone used it yet? Reviews pls

  • I just bought one for $149 after $10 off for my birthday reward! Yee Haa!
Dammit, now I have to learn how to operate it. I am still bamboozled by my microwave oven.

  • Back in stock.

Anyone got reviews? In particular capacity, cleaning and if it's annoying to use / hard to cook things well.

Because I might as well continue to use my oven for baking things…

    • Still waiting for mine to be delivered.. sigh postal delays

Has anyone used their Air Fryer much?

Not sure if mine is defective or it's intended operation

    1. When mid-operation I can remove the basket and the unit continues to run. My cheap kmart unit didn't do this and it immediately shut down.
    2. After a pre-set cook time, the heat will turn off but the fan will continue to run and just not stop. I've cooked chips for 20 minutes and come back after 30min and the timer is still counting, heat is off but the fan was running for extra 10 minutes and the food was cold. The kmart cooker also had a cool-down time but it shut down after a minute.

The manual wasn't much help as it's just images.

    • Mine doing the same, but its my first air fryer and I didnt think that number 1. would count as defective. I wouldnt want mine to shut down if I removed basket as I sometimes need to shake it. As for number 2, is however inconvenient.

      • +2

I got a reply from Tefal - these are all "features", the cool down one is the most annoying as it's not based on temp or time but it'll keep the fan on to cool down indefinitely

        Dear tamckinnon,

        Thank you for contacting Tefal.

Please be informed of the following: Your appliance does not automatically turn off when the basket is taken out, because in some recipes you need to take the basket out and give the contents a stir. If the unit were to shut down, it would have to repeat the heating up process all over again, which would lead to unsatisfactory cooking time and results. When you are initially turning on your machine we advise that you only press the start button after the basket is inserted. After cooking, the fan keeps working to cool off the machine. The only way it will turn off is if you press the power off button. These features are a part of the unit's design and not a fault.

If you are unhappy with the machine, we advise that you contact your retailer and discuss a refund, depending on the store's policy.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

        Best Regards,
        Alison, Tefal
