    • You'll need to use the Connect Smart app to connect the bulbs to your wifi. Then you'll need to use the Google Home app to add the bulbs, using Set up Device then Works With Google

Disclaimer: I don't have these exact bulbs (have ordered) but did this with a Mirabella Genio bulb not so long ago so assume it's basically the same.

      • i have this exact.
can confirm works with hello google thing
        to on/off
to change ambient ie from warm to cool white

    Gerry = criminal.

  • Sorry Noob question - how does this bulbs connect?
Do you need to purchase a bridge unit to connect these bulbs?.
Or does this have integrated wifi inside the bulb?
And do you need to keep ON the switch light?

    • +1

      no need bridge
      yes wifi
dont have to but to control it yes otherwise how it has power to connect to wifi

  • Damn, on back order.. Who knows how long it will be now.

Anybody else got the same email?

  • I think I made a mistake buying 10 of these.

I like the idea of being able to adjust the colour warmth, but I don't like the idea of having to get a voice activated smart device or leaving these on all the time.

I mean really, who the hell want to say "google turn on the lounge room light" instead of just flicking the lightswitch as you enter the room?

    I should've bought dumb LED's

I just hope they don't flick on and off in pair mode after leaving them off all night? And I hope they have a default state when switched on and off.

Pays to do some research I suppose :(

    • for $4 each, i am not sure how much you could save if you buy normal leds. you can use it as a normal led, no problem.

      • Can you?

I heard they flash on and off after leaving them off all night

        • nope. when they are off where they get the power to flash?? must be watching too much horror movies :D

          • @CyberMurning: I mean if you switch them off at night, and come back in the morning and switch them on, they will flash to signify a connection is needed.

I dunno man, i just saw it in a review of the globe here:
            https://ausdroid.net/2020/07/17/review-10-connect-smarthome-…

Quote "If turned off there overnight, when you turn them on in the morning they blink because they need to be paired again. If you leave them on at the switch permanently this isn’t a problem, but it’s somewhat surprising they forget their pairing on loss of power."

        • Like people said, not at all. I had them for couple of days now. It can be used as a normal led. Flash is only during setup.

    • Bro this is $4 relax

  • Thanks OP. Ordered some as spares. Real good price. I had k no I no problem with 5x for $20. It applied after added shipping.

  • Weird i got some.
first setup was breeze very easy., but on the other room, two lights didnt want to flash. Already tried to reset ( 3x on off, 6x on off..) nothing…

    • @chimot I can’t get any of mine to go into pairing mode/flashing. How did you get the your first one done?

      • Plug it to ceiling turn on switch and blinks right away.
But the 2nd and 3rd (different room) didnt work….

  • just set them up yesterday as celling lights.

4x on-off to reset. took some time to figure out as conflicting info on apps/manual .

used Tuya app instead of laser connect, as I also bought the curtain motor from Zemismart,

both are awesome, can use Alexa to control all . very happy with the purchase.

    • mine wont reset after 4x on-off or twice 3x on off (according to manual)

  • Did anyone received their order who has been place on back order?

    • No not yet.

Has been over 2 weeks now & no further updates.

Reckon they'll take a month to decide to refund, which is annoying as bought with gift card & have no need for other HN stuff.

      • Mine finally arrived this week, after being in backorder for close to a month.

Most admit was expecting a refund, so hopefully worth the wait.

        • Hmm, not worth the wait for me as the 3 x B22 that were the backordered part of my order all have the new firmware, meaning I can't flash them to Tasmota with Tuya-convert.

Was able to successfully flash the 2 x E27 (batch no. 19xxxxx) with older firmware, but none of the newer B22 (batch no. 20xxxxx).

Unfortunately makes them pretty useless for my home automation setup :-(.

If anyone that was lucky enough to get their B22 delivered straight away with a batch no. starting 19xxxx would like to swap for three with newest firmware, then please PM.

          • @opposablethumbs: what is the steps / manuals to flash them to tasmota ? i would like to try - i cant connect some of them

            • @CyberMurning: Search for "tuya-convert" and guides about how to use it.

I use a Raspberry Pi to do it, but can also be done on Linux. Is a bit of a rabbit hole to get started, but same procedure for all devices that are able to be OTA flashed once you've worked out how to do it.

Profile once you have it setup for Tasmota is here:
              https://templates.blakadder.com/connect_smarthome_CSH-B22WW1…
              https://templates.blakadder.com/connect_smarthome_CSH-E27WW1…

Not sure it will solve problems if you can't connect to them though, as need them to be connected to flash. Probably already tried it, but turning on and off rapidly 4-5 times should reset the light (blinks rapidly after reset) and hopefully help with connection problems.

              • @opposablethumbs: dont have Pi or linux so probably not for me….
huh i tried reset many times last week didnt work but just now ok haha . thanks

by the way im using smart Life - Smart Living app (developer name is volcano tech)
is this the best one ?

                • @CyberMurning: Many generic Tuya-based apps, but can't really say what is best as my use of Tasmota is to get my home automation off the cloud onto a closed ecosystem that I completely control.

Hopefully, some other users of Tuya-based apps will chime in with recommendations, but if you're happy with that app then I'd stick with it.

  • I am still waiting on all 8 globes.. 4 weeks later.. O. o

    • Just received a cancellation email, what a crock. Now I have to wait probably another month for a refund 🙄

now you know why we here hate HN
