Seems to be a good deal for someone looking for a handset if you can wait 1 to 2 months. RRP around $79.

 - Nice one, but OOS.
 - That went quick. VTECH, yo - As VTECH should, yo.

 - Already out of stock, was gonna grab one. - Particularly like the base unit can be hidden in the cupboard along with the router, unlike other systems one of the phones is the base unit. - We have an Uniden set not in use due to batteries no longer charge, and frankly we haven't used the land land for more than 5 years. - But $19 for 2 phones delivered, why not? After all we already paid for the service, and some older relatives prefer to call on the landline. - New batteries are easily obtained on eBay or Ali for a song and bring new life to cordless phones. Highly recommend.. - But I kind of like this one. :D

 - Not sure who would need to buy as landline phone but you can get plenty of them for free in kerbside or gumtree. - I think I have three sitting in a box in the garage. We haven't had a landline for a couple of years, and before that we just unplugged it as no one called it. - Or the only calls you get are telemarketers.

 - I agree. I reckon give it a few years and cordless phones won't even be manufactured. - In our last hard rubbish week, I saw a handful on the kerbside. People just don't use landlines anymore. - Apparently some of the new ones can do a BT connection to your mobile, so you can use the home phone as a handset for your mobile. I guess that could be of use to some people who don't carry their phone in their pocket all the time.

 - Some have interesting features, such as "Bluetooth MobileConnect". Basically functions like a Bluetooth headset that can take calls from mobile (or make calls), but would have been more useful if it's the other way around: mobile can take landline calls. - I had to stop my wife using the home phone a few years ago because it cost more than the same calls on mobile. I can only see it being useful if you have poor reception in your home, but most phones now do VoWIFI which solves that issue.

 - Legend, thanks.

 - I have these and I'm with Aussie Broadband. When someone calls they only ring for about 5-10 seconds and then it goes straight to voicemail does anyone know how to make it ring for longer?

This'll be great to complement my brand new 1.5Mbps DSL connection.
