Data only SIM with unlimited data

Hi Guys,

I am looking for a unlimited data only SIM plans.
Currently using Optus 150GB per month for 50 AUD.

But, lately the data consumption has gone up and looking for a suitable plan. Telstra has like this plan 400 GB for 85 AUD and it is a expensive.
Would like to hear from you all if any good deal is out there.

Thank you all.

Felix mobile has unlimited data for $35/month (capped at max speed of 20mbps and runs on Vodafone network).

    • Thanks mate, but can I use it as a tethering service for other devices. I have a very good WiFi Router(Netgear M2) and presently I have put my Optus SIM in the router and me and my wife using data from it.

Anyway, I will check with them.

Yes you can insert the SIM into any unlocked modem/device and tether/hotspot. Just check network coverage for your location as it's Vodafone network. I'm in metro area and consistently get around 19mbps speed down/3mbps up using an old smartphone.

        • While it's technically doable, it is against Felix's Fair Use Policy.

For your personal devices only, not as a substitute for a home internet service or in a modem. Fair Use Policy applies.

          • @iDroid: Leave it in your phone and Tether instead.

How does the 19Mbps compare to a NBN 100Mbps compare ? How much does a family of 2+2 use ? Netflix / Browsing / Spotify / youtube

@cameldownunder: 20Mbps is not sufficient for 4 people trying to use the connection at the same time.
Netflix and Youtube will both buffer.

    • Felix is currently half price.

      $17.50 instead of $35.

      For next 3 months.

      Uses Vodafone towers.

  • Get the cheapest telstra mobile plan. They have piece of mind data that doesn't run out but is capped at 1.5Mbs.

    • Thanks but my data requirements are going up lately. I need min 200/250 GB, so this rules out cheap telstra plan. Little bit inclined towards 400 GB and AUD 85 plan of their.

      Thank you very much…

      • min 200/250 GB

Their plan has uncapped data, with limited speed. That meets your requirement.

  • How low do you want to pay?

What about Optus 5G Home Broadband if it's available where you are? $75 for unlimited data with speeds up to 100Mbps. You'll need to use their modem though.

    • similar rates for vodafone 5G

    • Don't want Modem, that's the catch and the building I stay is quite old and only FTTB is available.

      • Don't want Modem

You can sell your modem. The Nokia modem is $200 from Optus on a month-to-month plan, or free if you sign up for a 24 month plan.

the building I stay is quite old and only FTTB is available.

NBN FTTB is $70 for unlimited 50Mbps, isn't that within your budget?
Even better if you can can get TPG FTTB.

if it doesn't matter to you who you're with, Vodafone currently have 300GB for $65 per month with 10 mbps speeds after reaching the 300Gb, or completely unlimited for $85 per month

    • Thanks, but sadly there is no 5G connectivity to my home from Optus, Vodafone officially, though I am using the Optus SIM for 5G services at home. I don't want to buy Modem as I have a superb Netgear Nighthawk M5 router.

  • AGL (Optus) has 50GB per month, for next three months for FREE.

    That's 150Gb for FREE.

    No contracts.

    Limited offer. Ends soon!
