Buy One Get One Free Footlong Sub @ Subway App

2032

Just saw this in emails and figured it was worth a post, seems they've updated their app (and maybe loyalty program too)

This week’s Big App-etite Deal is an absolute doozy. Get a FREE Subway Footlong® sub when you buy any other Subway Footlong® sub. Oh snap! That sounds delicious and thrifty. Just jump onto the all-new Subway® app to claim it.

Offer expires 19/09/21. Buy any Subway Footlong® sub and receive a free second Subway Footlong® sub of equal or lesser value. Additional costs for extras. Single use only. May not be combined with any other coupon offers, discounts or special deals. One offer per guest per transaction. Reward dollars not available for purchases made using third party delivery platforms

Free sub + 390ml coke for new members thanks to Bargainaholic

Few pointers

  • You have to select a store first before having access to offers
  • Recommend adding offer to cart before manually adding products
  • Have to select +1 on 390ml coke (not 600ml) as by default it adds 0 to cart
  • If that doesn't work QR scan in store
  • I'd also suggest doing "one off payment" so your CC details aren't saved in the app because it doesn't exactly inspire confidence lol

Update: Email from new account

Don’t forget to keep claiming those Big App-etite Deals.
There’s a new one every week until 05/12/2021.

Seems to imply that the offers get loaded once a week so might be available to any existing user while new users miss out on that week's deal.

Yeah hard to know what's going on.

Just created a new account and got the email for a free subway Six inch® sub and a 390mL Coke. No idea about the buy one get one free deal

Still doesn't appear in app under offers, should be able to scan that QR in store hopefully

        • I'm going to uninstall the app too, too buggy on android. Nothing ever comes up under offers, the screen just times out.
You should be able to scan the QR code on the email anyway.

I have the deal on my phone, but it won't discount upon check out. So went to the local shop, and the attendant said it works for some people and not others. I tried to scan it and it didn't work, so it was refused to be honoured. Since I can't reward bad apps/process/bait and switches/useless managers, I left without buying anything. They don't even have a customer service email or phone number, the phone number just tells you to go online. When you try to fill out the online form, the mobile keyboard covers the form so you can't see what you are typing, and when you hit back to hide the keyboard the page goes back and you lose
what you filled out. The most horrendous app and customer service experience I have had in ages.

Came back here to neg and I can't because I previously plussed the deal, someone at Ozbargain really needs to fix this situation, there's probably dozens of people having this issue and none can neg the deal because after revoking a positive it won't let you. Scotty you can do better mate.

Went 2 days later to another shop and they told me there's a problem and honoured it upon sight of the barcode.

      • This isnt the first time Subway has done this.

Hence I will be boycotting subway and deleted all forms of social media and email contact related to them.

        • I have raised it with the mods to get negs after positive votes up and running (apparently it only works if you do it immediate after plussing) . When I went to both subways to use the voucher they both knew that there was issues that affected about half the people that came in, there's no way this deal should only have 2 negs. I can't neg because I already plussed it, seems like free false advertising for subway.

  • Definitely targeted. I only get the 6inch and a coke for free.

    • That's a better deal anyway

  • Created new account and didn't get the deal

  • Does anyone know what happened to the subway melt? That was my favourite!

    • You can still order it! Some stores might not have the button on the POS machine, and a lot of newer workers won't know it is but just ask for the Subway Melt. If they say they don't know what it is, tell them that you want Turkey, Ham and Bacon and they'll do it regardless.
Just keep in mind that it only comes with 2 slices of each meat now since Subway swapped over to the thicker Turkey and ham slices (it used to come with 4 slices of each and 2 bacon). A lot of people complain but we aren't just trying to rip you off; that's the correct formula now unfortunately.

      • Thanks for that! Will the price be more if I order Turkey, Ham and Bacon as opposed to if it was available on the POS?

I used to order it with double meat, so I got 8 slices of Turkey and Ham and 4 slices of bacon haha

        • So our store will do it as a melt. If I remember correctly, a melt is like $11.95ish?
A Turkey, ham and bacon is like $14 or some ridiculous amount. Really sucks but that's how it is now that it's off the menu unfortunately.

In our POS, the Melt is under the "Store Options" tab so you could maybe ask them if it's in there if they can't find it, but all of the POS are different so they might not be able to help you unfortunately.

Yeah I'll occasionally make a sub with 2 ham, 2 turkey and 4 bacon but it's just too heavy for me these days haha, bloody tast though!

  • I'm an existing user, received email about offer. In new app, went to ORDER -> OFFER and found/use it without a problem. Picked up order in 10mins.

  • Exisiting user here, logged in with new app, selected local store, went to Offers section, no deals for me apparently :(

    What a crappy appy

  • Subway must have seen my forum post- I got the footlong email!

  • App is a bit crap, but I managed to put through an order successfully. It wasn't too bad once I got it to work, but the lag made that very difficult.

  • Says "Not Applied" at checkout :( .

    • Didn't work for me in the app either so I tried the website on my laptop like someone suggested and it was applied after adding 2 subs in :)

Edit: just tried the website on my phone browser too and it worked. App must be buggy

thanks mate! got the mail as well. App was buggy but worked flawlessly using web site on PC, scheduled the dinner.

    Thanks OP.. Dinner Sorted!

I had two footlongs for dinner. Thank you!!!

    • +1

No worries but I'm concerned for your rear end tomorrow lol

      Let's hope it wasn't 2 meatball footlongs 😂

    • I could only get through 1 and a half.

  • Hmm my app won't let me choose a store. Just times out and when you start typing says no store located make sure you are typing it correctly

  • So annoying, had an account but when they switched to the new app I lost the old one as I only used the QR code in store to make an account.

    • used to get fk all points anyway, and expired after not long..
The app is a pile of rubbish

  • Didn't get this or the free 6-inch offer at any of three stores I tried in the app. No difference on the website either.

    • My 6 inch offer came in a day later FYI

  • For anyone who couldn't find this deal yesterday: I couldn't either, but I opened the app today and it was there under "Offers".

  • "Not applied" in both app and website when trying to order. Tried to scan it in store and they said there was an error, something along the lines not available in store. They manually put the deal through but what a joke!

  • Glad i didn't pay $5 for the sixer.. have to watch em like a hawk and they still hardly put any salad on it.
Probably should have scanned the code after ordering, but maybe a dud store, never been to that one

Hey G-rig, lots of stores are stingy with the salads, one thing that I hate about working at Subway as it gives good stores a bad name.

Just remember you can ask for more salad for NO extra charge. If they say it costs more they are lying, leave the store and go elsewhere.
Extra meat, cheese or add-ons obviously come with an additional charge.

      • Yeah that's all good , usually never an issue, but like any franchise there are better (or exceptional) stores that others. I just assumed it's a directive not to be too generous with the salads by often it's the case of pay more for less these days (bit like shrinking pizzas)

        • Subway's directives for salad amounts are reasonable, but often a franchisee will tell their staff members to put less unfortunately.

          • @Twirlypiglet: That's all good, won't be going back to that store anyway, want sure which subs the free six inch applied to. I usually just get the veg delight but asked about the veg Pattie but it was kind of ignored. Have had that before and it's not great anyway. It's probably just that individual so who knows

            • +1

@G-rig: Yeah good, there's definitely good ones out there, just have to find one and stick with it.
Veggie patty is good, but it's super soggy the way Subway tell us to make it (microwaved for a fresh sub or just toasted from cold). What I do is I pre toast the patty in the speed oven so it gets a bit of a crisp and then flip it onto the sub, then toast the while sub. Ends up nice and crispy!

              • @Twirlypiglet: Thanks for the tip, yes, soggy is the word haha. Would go well in an air fryer at home..

    • This is all pretty accurate. A bit of an exaggeration on the girl's part about the teryaki sauce smelling like an oil change, and feeling sick from the tuna and Mayo mix smell.

I think at the end of the day, Subway is a fast food store, and if we had to do everything fresh, not only would our service be slower but a lot more people would go elsewhere for a quick meal. Most of the customers at our store are tradies or factory/mechanic workers that have a 20 minute lunch break so they're always in a rush. If the meat tastes good, I don't see any problems with how it's prepared, we're pretty transparent when asked how the meat is prepared (well our store is at least, I don't know about others).

If you're still interested, all of the salad is fresh and we slice most of it ourselves.
