im looking pretty hard for the bargain.. ill let everyone know when i find it =)

  • based on a quick look on ebay this price looks to be around $5 cheaper.

    • The other important factor is the rep is based in Australia. Any warranty returns can be shipped by Australia Post road mail. If buying from an overseas seller on eBay it's impossible to return a faulty li-ion based product under warranty. AU Post flatly refuse to post anything out of Australia that contains lithium ion batteries. Only telling lies to post office staff gets them to approve the package, and sea mail for some reason is not acceptable either.

      http://auspost.com.au/business/dangerous-goods-business.html

All lithium batteries are now classified as dangerous goods and cannot be carried by air.

Australia Post cannot accept lithium batteries or devices containing lithium batteries for mailing overseas or for domestic air carriage. Parcels containing these items will now only be transported within Australia and by road only.

These are brandless batteries… warranty support is one thing, but I'd be doubtful of their reliability.

Check out Anker batteries on Ebay instead. Anker batteries get fairly good reviews on Amazon.

    3200mah Amazon / International eBay

    8400mah Amazon

    5000mah eBay

    10,000mah Amazon

  • Have to be careful since the capacity of these are usually over stated. Also as picked out by anthman, these are only about 5-10 cheaper than imported goods from Asian regions. Wouldnt be surprised if these are the same units.

  • This website seems to have been made over the last week. Beware….. could be a scam. Not even a real domain so you can't really check who owns this website.

  • Thank you for your comments, in regards to the comments above. The batteries are definitely cheaper in price when compared to others on the existing market (eg. over eBay), this is because we have recently signed a new contract with our suppliers to import these into Australia.
In addition, the batteries have been individually tested by our agents who deliver these to us because of safety requirements for traffic control.

  • Rep what is the weight(both 8k and 12k mAh)?

  • Hi Zigpy_siva

The weight of 8k is approximately 0.230kg and as for 12k is approximately 0.275kg.

    • How long does it take to charge?

      • Rep, pls answer this, interested on how long too.

      • +1

To answer the question regarding how long it will take for the charger to be fully charged, it will take approximately 2.5 hours for the 8000, approximately 4 hours for the 12000.

  • Question regarding charge time sorry.

  • They say on the website, recharge your phone ANYWHERE… how about under water?? ;-)

    • +2

In regards to the recharge your phone anywhere; when we meant anywhere, I guess we didn't take in account of places like under water, in a volcano or hurricane, in space or on the moon. So the answer to your question is, unfortunately; No. The measurements for the 12,000 is approximately 5mm thicker than the 8000

it'd be nice to see a decent photo of it for size of the various portable power bank models (say next to a phone), both the 8000 and 12000mah models.

I was trying to get a feel for how big they are, and for anyone else thats curious, for the 8000mAH model (only one with listed dimensions that i can see), i've saved mine on sizeasy compared to a SGS 2 and a iPhone 4s

    http://www.sizeasy.com/page/size_comparison/34218-Portable-P…

    • Mein gott! Look at the size of that thing!

Makes me wonder at the sheer ginormousness of the 1200mAH model. Rep?

    • the size compare site is good… +1

  • Well got mine. Came charged. It's huge. Plastic and a little light feeling. Two usb ports, 1A and 2.1A. It stopped charging when my mobile was charged and did not automatically resume. This means you can leave it charging safely I'd say.

I did not notice the amp difference at first. Wondering if this will blow up my mobile. :) Charged it awful fast!

Lame part: the charging port (to charge the thing) does not take the same type of usb cable that mobile phones do so you need to have an extra special cable. poop.

    • You can recharge the power bank with the cable supplied, you can plug the USB end into a 5V charger for example your iphone or HTC charger (check or voltage before charging) or with your USB input on your computer or laptop.

      • I sorta semi-thought about that but it fell out of my head as I was typing. It's a short cable, though so will require an extension. The length is good enough for when you're sitting it down to charge something but a pc is now always conveniently placed (nor, if it is, are its usb ports). Neither are power points for usb power point chargers.

It's not a deal-breaker but it is a mistake imo and not a terribly big one.

I'd probably give it a 4/5 at this stage.
