It's on the SIM but I think you can call them before you set it up and they'll transfer it to your existing SIM.
I'd recommend asking Optus before you buy it though.I was wondering the same thing too. Imagine you buy heaps of this and sign up one sim to the two dollar day deal. Afterward just keep transferring credit from other cards. You end up with an unlimited voice and DATA for $38.53. Now that is a bargain.

Might be useful to use in conjunction with this offer, which is currently running again until 31 March, if you're actually planning on using optus for any length of time.
is the $30 already on the sim or could I recharge my existing sim?
