If anyone is going to do this, please check the T&Cs for getting the referral credit. Some of these sites have a minimum buy amount. Wouldn't want to go to that effort and get nothing.
The thing I like about the free ticket with Hoyts is that it is tied to your card, not a paper ticket. The people who sell tickets are generally pretty proactive in letting you know there is a ticket available and when it'll expire, etc.
Whats the point of these memberships, they charge you a renewal fee every single year. Sick of always paying the member fee for hoyts. already paid $30 in their fee and havent gotten much back
I renew for $10 and they give you a free tix to the movies, quite sure of that.

Was going to sign up for this anyway since my recent move means my nearest cinema is a Hoyts (and can't use my $8.50 at Event Cinemas Brisbane anymore)… so if I can save $2, why not?
Turns out I had an old account tied to my e-mail address. Once I logged in, it worked fine.

I've registered on Hoyts.com.au and am told I now just have to show up at Hoyts with my ID and membership # to get my welcome pack and member card
If you're a student just flash your student card at any hoyts box office to get the hoyts membership for $7.50. (Don't know when that offer expires, if it expires)
Just make sure when u make the payment, choose paypal instead of credit card or else your bank will charge u an additional 2.5% to 3% (depends on the bank) international transaction fee. No extra charges if pay with paypal. The reason is they process their transaction overseas and not here in Australia. However, you can contact them to refund the fee (credit it into your Groupon account) but it might take awhile and you need to show their your credit card statement. Guess the easiest way is to pay with paypal account.

Take your membership number and some photo ID to your nearest Hoyts. They will give you your card, which will have the ticket loaded onto it
The $10 membership that is available all the time includes the ticket and is a good deal. While this is a good deal, the maximum savings is $2. Not $2 and a movie ticket.
