[Refurb] MacBook Air M1 w/ 256GB SSD, 7 Core GPU $944 + Delivery ($0 to Selected Areas/ C&C) @ JB Hi-Fi

already 300 dollars cheaper than the refurb from apple's own refurb store. im not to sure about jb's refurb stuff, but i think its worth the price discount.

"The M1 MacBook is defective, as the screens are extraordinarily fragile, cracking, blacking out, or showing magenta, purple and blue lines and squares, or otherwise ceasing to function altogether," the lawsuit reads.

      No it's not.

exactly it's more of a design flaw that has been a thing since the 2018 refresh

I think it’s just a sacrifice in the name of achieving portability, light weight, thin body, etc.

    • You forgot to mention the part where the cracks only happened if you put a cover over your webcam.

To be perfectly honest though, however fragile the screen may be, if you close the laptop and it cracks because there’s something you placed there (eg. An AirPod, camera cover, pen, food, idk), I feel like that’s kinda on you. There’s always gonna be people with problems, but I think the great majority of owners are overwhelmingly happy with this laptop.

I’m no lawyer but I’m quite certain this action lawsuit will not even get a settlement from Apple.

There's plenty of reporting about users who strongly assert they had nothing in-between the screen and the keyboard. I've heard a lot of good things about the laptop, especially about the M1, but that doesn't mean it's not possible there's some kind of a defect that's putting a slight stress on the screen in its closed state that could result in damage over a long period of time.
