An apeeling offer, but I’m already skinned alive with Covid loss of salary

    • Dont worry, if you cut yourself hard enough, the hospital has free food, shave off some of your budget worries.

Sorry you lost your celery dude. I can see why you shun the peeler.

i got this last time it was posted here. I think it's good, but nothing extremely better than a cheap peeler from kmart, IMO

      • I got older fatter OXO version. Lucky I got a few extra. After looking for one, far and wide, this was the best.

So this is how you peel Swiss army?

    • Yes, but only after you've knifed them first.

How does it compare to something like this?

I bought some ceramic knives and got a free ceramic peeler in that design - I just can't get the hang of using it. I find the straight peelers (like this Victorinox) to be much easier to use.

  • Long handle is a well thought out design

  • Of course this goes on sale right after I purchased an oxo peeler for an eye watering price

I purchased one recently and just started using it today. It's insane how easily it peels. Really easy to hold and use too. No idea how long it stays sharp, but so far it's amazing.

The reviews on Amazon are high for a reason

I have this. Its good but I wouldn't say it's some kind of brilliant tech. It's just a good peeler. Feels similar to any other peeler to use if you ask me.

so once its knives slice my fingers off, I can peel back my stringy skin to make a nice soup

  • Black OOS but still available to order like the red, green one has had a price rise

  • +1

Why would you want a peeler . The skin is the best part

    • Toddlers
Thin strips for salads and stir frys

    • +3

To get the skin off…"It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again"

  • Can it be sharpened?

    • Serrated blades, so no

  • Oos

  • Where is the screwdriver? Can opener? Saw?

  • geez, just forked out $2 for 4 peelers from woolies.

    • +1

My one of these rusted immediately. Cheap woolies one still going strong.

If its not included on the swiss army knives, I dont need it.

  • Great. Have been wanting a good peeler for a long while.

  • Bought the black peeler for $4.95 with free delivery on the Amazon Prime trial. Delivery by 4th Oct.

  • I haven't used this particular one, but recently brought https://www.victoriasbasement.com.au/p/victorinox-swiss-peel… , and it was absolutely horrible. The supermarket peeler was 100x better. Put me off Victorinox.

The best peeler I ever used is the Solingen Vegetable Peeler, but I can't find any at a reasonable price. - https://solingen24.com/en/Kitchen-knives/Culinary/peelers/RO… . There are some on ebay for $18-$20

Agreed on that first one, I also had one and I ended up throwing it in the bin in frustration and went back to the supermarket one.

  • I bought one, and i've used it a few times now, and i'm impressed. The only feedback is that because it's serrated it doesn't leave a smooth surface on your carrots etc…
