        Just got the phone and it's a Verizon version with an IMEI starting with 35.

        This means not only does it not have esim, but it's also troublesome/impossible to unlock the bootloader.

        Probably going to return this one as a result since custom rom support was critical.

      How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go? Assuming you're interested in the privacy and security aspect (because you mentioned this custom ROM) you would also need to ensure the device itself and the accessories are authentic and have not been tampered with.

      If you were purchase from this particular seller (Sydney Mobiles aka Mobileciti) then short answer is no because the stock they're distributing have been jeopardized just see all the comments from the other Google Pixel 3 deals.
