Xbox Game Pass Ultimate 36 Months $125.09 (New Users), $140.04 (Expired Users) @ MTCGame (Brazil/Turkey VPN Required)

4821

Before proceeding ensure your Game Pass subscription is fully expired, auto-recurring payments disabled, and Microsoft account set to your current country of residence

A great deal for those new or with a fully expired subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and want to try Xbox Cloud Gaming which has just been released today.

If you have never used the $1 first month offer, this will cost in total $125.09 for 3 years. If you have a fully expired subscription, but have used the $1 first month offer previously, it will cost $146.70 total for 3 years.

Edit: As suggested by chorong, Gamivo has 5% off with code COOLIFE

Turkey MTCGame
Brazil MTCGame

Normally Ultimate sub would cost $15.95/mth x 36 months = $574.20, or $80/yr if purchasing cards from JB HiFi and following this same process without the need of VPN.

Please note:
  • This method is verified as working, as I've just completed it myself.
  • This only works if your current subscription has FULLY EXPIRED. New users will work fine and will get the deal $14 cheaper. If you have an existing subscription THIS WILL NOT WORK, and you will have to wait until your current sub finishes.
  • You will need a Microsoft account. Ensure auto renew/recurring payments are cancelled, and account details (especially Country) are set correctly before proceeding.
  • 36 months is the maximum that can be subscribed at once, though you can subscribe less if you wish.
  • If you wish to subscribe for 36months, and you are offered extra free months at all during this process, decline them as you can not exceed this limit and will be unable to enter your third 12 month code.
  • You will need a VPN (Comments have said that Windscribe for Chrome extension works). Although MTCGame listing says the codes are Brazil, mine were actually Turkey codes. Ensure your VPN has access to both countries, just in case.
  • Some have said MTCGame asked them to do a rigorous ID verification process to purchase their keys, there are some other options listed by f4te in comments for purchasing 12 month codes.
  • If you get RiskPolicyRejected error while redeeming codes, you need to keep trying. Try this method or this method from the comments.
Please read above and all steps below carefully before proceeding:

1. Go to MTCGame or Gamivo Edit: As suggested by chorong, Gamivo has 5% off with code COOLIFE
or CDkeys following dowey's instructions
(some other options listed by f4te in comments) and make sure country is set to Australia and currency to $AUD at the top of the page, purchase up to 3x12month Xbox Live Gold cards for $48 AUD each. Gamivo and other options prices will vary slightly.

2. You may need to verify phone number. It took roughly 45-50mins for the code to be received in my email, so don't stress too much. You will receive images of the codes all in one email. Type out all the codes into Notepad (they're in format: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX with a mixture of letters and numbers). Note that my codes were labelled "Xbox 12 Aylık Gold Üyelik (Türkiye)", and I had to use Turkey VPN to redeem.

3. Connect to your VPN (Comments have said that Windscribe for Chrome extension works), go to https://redeem.microsoft.com/?wa=wsignin1.0, login to your account (you will probably need to verify email address via security code sent to your email) and add each code. If you get an error about the wrong country, try changing to Brazil/Turkey VPN, or using an Incognito/Private window.

Edit: If you get RiskPolicyRejected error while redeeming codes, you need to keep trying. Try this method or this method from the comments.

4. Once all codes are added, go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/ and verify that you have up to the maximum of 36months. Mine said Subscription expires "September 29. 2024". It is IMPORTANT you verify all your Xbox Live Gold codes are redeemed successfully before proceeding.

5. Disconnect VPN, we will no longer need it.

6. Now that we have 36 months of Xbox Live Gold, we need to upgrade them to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. On the same page https://account.microsoft.com/services/ click on "Upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate" as seen on this picture

7. You will be taken to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate page to join. This should be the link in case you need it. First time users will see $1.00 price, expired users will see $15.95 price. Click join.

8. You will see the following dialog that you will be upgrading your membership, don't stress about current conversion ratio, etc. As long as your new renewal date matches you're good to go. Mine said "Your new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate renewal date will be: 30/09/2024"

9. Pay the $1 for new users, $15.95 for expired users via Credit Card or Paypal. Once done refresh the Services page to verify you've been successfully upgraded to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. You will also see next charge "9/30/2024, AU$15.95" or similar, pictured here.

10. Once all has been verified, you can click "Manage" on the top-right and Turn off recurring billing, in case you forget later. Its this page if you can't find it. Once your subscription lapses in 3 years, hopefully you'll still be able to repeat this process.

What can I do with my subscription?

Happy gaming :)

Credit to previous deal for the inspiration, and /r/XboxGamePass wiki for verifying the steps.

Edit: Some are reporting issues needing to verify details before being able to purchase from MTCGame. Please know that you can buy your codes from anywhere, and use this same process, MTCGame was just the cheapest that I could find.

Here are some other suggestions from f4te

If anyone has other suggestions for cheap 12 month codes please feel free to post them :)

  • Got it to work. Used Mtc game code which told 5 hours to get yesterday. Nord VPN as Turkey and just spamed the code page until it finally accepted the code. Did it on my phone and just kept copying and pasting the code.

  • +4

Me: nice saved approx $40 a year..

considers how much billable hours I wasted yesterday trying to redeem

    Uh oh

    Thanks Op though

  • +1

Managed to get the Gold codes I purchased from Gamivo working by retrying (backspacing the code to quickly retry helped as people have suggested above). All on my normal microsoft account. Glad this worked in the end! Cheers OP

  • +2

Ok what the heck - cloud gaming is pretty awesome!

5G connection playing touch control streets of rage, quite smooth even with the safari iOS workaround. I suspect it would be even better in native android or windows apps.

  • was able to redeem just now, took about 20 tries of entering the code from MTCGames (Brazil VPN) although it came through as a Turkey code. Used NordVPN browser plug-in connected to Turkey on a new Microsoft Account. Now to add the other two years….

  • +1

Yep got it to work. Used the same method as everyone else, backspace the last letter and continue trying. Took me about 30 mins of trying for all 3 codes. Thanks!

  • Finally got it to work for three years.

Ended up using one Australian JB Hifi voucher, and two TR from Gamivo.

The Gamivo Turkish ones I redeemed using the Microsoft Store Windows app with the Windscribe Windows Desktop App.

    Thanks op.

  • Like others, it seems to be working now. I had a few issues redeeming 3x Gamivo codes, but kept deleting the last character of the code for each one. Eventually it went through. Thanks!

  • Works for me too, but like others, had to spam the link quite a few times to get my 3x Gamivo's to work. Btw, used Hola VPN (Turkey server).

  • +1

Those with hola I’d recommend uninstalling it once you’re done. It has bad reviews for everything from being a security risk to them using free users as exit nodes.

  • +5

Looks like we're back in business guys?

    • +2

It's a game in itself to redeem the codes but it works. Thanks again for all your hard work.

    • Yes but not as straight forward as the deal was yday morning. U might want to update original post.

  • Im getting: "Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help.". Does it matter if it says "It'll be added to (my email address) (Australia)? Not sure if the australia part is making it not work. Thanks

    • +5

If you're desperate for this to work do the following:

      1. Paste the code.

      2. If you get RiskPolicyRejected then retype the last letter of your code until you eventually get to 1 of 2 screens. You can also delete the last letter and re-enter it.

      3. If you get Something Went Wrong then refresh the page and follow steps 1 and 2 until eventually, you get to…

      4. It confirms it's an Xbox Live Gold code. Click OK. If it takes a while it will eventually verify and add to your account. If it fails repeat until it works.

      • Doesn't seem to work for me, I get georestricted and riskpolicyrejected errors over and over. I checked my ip, its a a Trukish one. Am I doing something wrong?

        • Worked now, the issue was my VPN, I tried the windscribe VPN method and these instructions worked fine.

    • Yeah, ignore the Australia part and do as @JRGPayne suggested :)

      • +1

as you replied it worked haha

  • +2

Good morning everyone. Happy we all got there in the end! A few things for people that are still trying to get it to work - I used NordVPN on Turkey with the MTC codes. As above comments, you just gotta keep copy and pasting with the delete last letter method. Took me a good 10 minutes straight to get the first code to work but the 2nd and 3rd went though after a few attempts. The rest of the process after that is per usual. You just gotta keep going at it and you will receive different types of errors but eventually will go through. You want to make sure next to your email it says Australia too.

    • PIA does work too (reports it wasn’t working a few page back)

    • looks like it's starting to work again for everyone, although not without some effort. do you think it's worth it to purchase codes right now?

  • Did everybody get the full time upgraded to GPU? I've got 2 years of XBL Gold, and it's knocking about 8 months to upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate..

    • +1

I believe that only happens if you have existing ultimate or game pass active, then try to redeem Xbox Live codes. You'll only get the full amount if you have absolutely no game pass or ultimate currently active

      • Thanks for the reply :) Nope, definitely don't have any game pass or ultimate active. My previous game pass ultimate expired in July.

    • +1

      1 October 2024 for me

      • Thanks for the reply :) It worked. I’m just a dummy and couldn’t figure out that the date format between the US Xbox servers and the Australian ones are different. I was reading the renewal as 2/10/2024 and thinking that meant 10th of February as the other Xbox settings page had the American month/day/year format.

        Anyhoo, got it sorted.

  • Got three codes to work eventually. When it gives you the error press the \ key instead of deleting a few letters and entering them again, its a bit quicker..

So after loading three keys, my expiry is 2022. Anyone else have that?

I check my history and all three keys are redeemed..

    • Do you mean 3 Xbox Live Gold 1 year keys?

I did two Xbox Live Gold 1 year keys and it gave me two clear years. But, when trying to convert the Xbox Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate it knocks off around 8 months :(

  • +2

Big thanks to @Jimothy Wongingtons and @JRGPayne. using their methods to get through after 30mins' trying.

  • +1

I've already signed up to the $1 month, am I not able to redeem this until it's expired? Or could I do 2 years now and add another year after a month?

    • would also like to know

    • You must wait until your subscription is fully expired

      • Ok no worries. Would it be the same deal if I bought an Aus Xbox live card? Is it just a thing with converting Xbox live to game pass ultimate?

        • Yes exactly, you can't convert Xbox Live -> Ultimate while you have Ultimate active.

  • +4

Don't give up hope guys!! Got my 3 codes purchased from MTC to work now.. Remember, being persistent is key here.. THANKS OP!! Now have game pass ultimate till 2024!!
I used NordVPN and incognito mode on my phone to get it sorted. Keep trying till they accept the code. SHOULD WORK! Happy gaming for next 3 years..

    • Yes got mine from MTC as well although the code said Brazil I had to VPN to Turkey cause I was getting nowhere with Brazil. I used Nordvpn which I got from here about a week ago .Like you said persistent is the key. Thanks OP

  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

  • nord worked for me as well purchased from MTC
    It says on the subscriptions
    XBOX ULTIMATE GAME PASS
AU $15.95 EVERY MONTH NEXT CHARGE ON 10/12/2022

But in the order history there are three redeemed ultimate game passes with todays date

so it only added the one of the three subscriptions onto my account. Is that right?

I would of thought my expiry would be 2024?

    • It should show expiry 2024 if done correctly, did you check that Xbox Live Gold showed 2024 expiry before converting to Ultimate (step 4)?

      • damn wasted 80 bucks..

        • Contact Microsoft, I'd be surprised if they can't fix it up for you if the codes have been redeemed on your account

          • +1

@iambRad: thats for the advice. I done that and they said

As checked, you already have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in the account before you redeem the Xbox Live Gold code. The amount of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is actually higher than Gold. the 12 months of Xbox Live Gold is for $59.99 which only equivalent to 4 months of Ultimate. What happened is that since you have an active Ultimate, your 12 months gold has been converted into 4 months of Ultimate.

I guess i missed the key words being NEW or EXPIRED

Still works out cheaper than what i was paying though by $50 so alls well that ends well

  • +1

thanks everyone for your help/advice/tips on getting this working!

for those still looking at this post, it is still active - took me about 30 mins to get all the codes working and verified on the microsoft site and upgrading was a piece of cake.

shouldn't this post still show as active since it's still working? just takes a bit of time to get there — DO NOT USE MTCGAME! I've used them in the past before and the experienceis horrible — Gamivo was easier to use (don't buy the premium sub to get the discount as it's lying and there isn't one for the codes)

EDIT: keys from gamivo are TURKEY and I used NordVPN without a hitch

    • +1

I left expired to prevent more code purchases until it was confirmed as working

I had no issues with MTCGame, but others have reported being dragged through rigorous verification processes, so it's good to have plenty of options for codes.

  • +22

After messing around with it, I figured out a way to make the code acceptance chance better. It took maybe 20 minutes for my first code until I figured out the process below. The remaining 2 codes only took about 2-3 minutes each, it was very quick once I got to Step #4.

Steps #1, #2 and #3 take the most time. But if you manage to get to step #4 which also tells you that "something happened on our end", but shows an OK button, you are on the home stretch.

    1. Go to https://redeem.microsoft.com/?wa=wsignin1.0. It will say enter your code and it shows the example format (xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx) under the text box.

    2. Enter your code. You will either get "riskpolicyrejected" (type the last letter of your code to keep trying), or the next window asking you to confirm. Quickly click on the confirm button, I noticed the quicker you click it, the better your chances of getting to the next screen.

    3. The 2 possible screens you will now get is either "Something happened on our end" message with a cancel button (Hit F5 or refresh your browser, and redo step #2), or a message stating that it is 12 months Live Gold and to confirm. Click confirm.

    4. You get 2 possible screens. The first is that it applies successfully and it tells you that your Live Gold is active (celebrate!), or it gives you a "Something happened on our end" message again. This time, there are 2 buttons which say Cancel and OK. Hit OK. Don't refresh. At this stage, you have passed the first checkpoint and you can actually now avoid the riskpolicyrejected error.

    5. After hitting OK, it brings you a page saying to enter your code, but notice this one doesn't show the example format (xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx). It is just a text field and a Cancel and Confirm buttons. If this is what you see, then do a mini celebration. Now all you need to do is paste your code in and it will either say "Something happened on our end", but with the OK button. Just click OK and repeat step #5. Otherwise, it will show you that it is 12 months Live Gold and to click confirm. It will eventually tell you that your Live Gold is active.

    • On the money - worked for me. Thanks for writing this up

    • Added your comment to OP for people having issues redeeming codes due to RiskPolicyRejected error. Thanks for the effort! :)

    • +1

Thanks - this worked for me. Can also just press enter rather than clicking OK each time.

    • You legend! Thanks for this write-up, it just worked like a charm for me.

    • I can't believe this worked. Legend!

How the hell you worked this out?

    • I used this method. Good write up. MS database must be borked!

    • Just bought one from Gamivo and followed this method - had to refresh once on step 3 but then got through on 4. They're out of stock now though :(

ETA: Bought another 2 from Eneba. First one worked without a hitch, second one took a few minutes of trying.

  • +3

Can confirm. Just subscribed to 3 years of ultimate pass for a total of 134 including international fees and ultimate 1$ upgrade. Thanks OP.

    I used Nord VPN

  • Finally worked, thanks OP and all the others who posted the RiskPolicy solution!

  • Thanks mine worked with the help of all the comments.

I had to really spam to get the codes to be accepted. like 20-40 cut n pastes

So for me 2-4 hours waiting for codes from purchase

30 mins of spamming the redemption page with codes, Next and OK buttons but it did work in the end.

  • +4

So glad this is working for everyone and massive props to the OP and commenters in here getting everyone across the line

    See you all on 01/10/2024!

  • +1

Had same hurdles as most on here but worked in the end.. Thanks OP and others who posted helpful tips!

  • +1

Success! Took about 5 attempts for each code, but everything is fine now. Only had to pay $1 for the upgrade, despite having previously used that deal at the start of the year.

    Thanks OP and everyone!

  • Bought 3 keys from Gamivo. First 2 codes I tried worked but the third code I get "This code wasn't found–try re-entering it. If the code is damaged, contact the seller. Invalid characters are A, E, I, O, U, L, S, 0, 1 and 5" TokenNotFound

    • Copy n paste

    • Do the Gamivo codes come as images? Check its correct, otherwise you may have to contact Gamivo for help

      • +1

No it comes as a code thankfully

      • 100% copy pasted the code and checked it's correct.
Have contacted Gamivo so will see what happens.

        • +1

Update: Code working now and redeemed.

          • @Pixus: Excellent, and all converted to Ultimate now?

            • +1

              @iambRad: Yep all good

              • @Pixus: Did you get new codes ? I'm having the same issue.

                • @poloocelot: If you just keep trying it should eventually work.

  • Every time I try to buy from Gamivo I get payment declined with either visa or PayPal payment options. Using visa debit and credit cards. Some from different banks. Not sure what the issue is.

    • Maybe try a different seller .. possibly Eneba?

      • Same issue.

        • +1

Sounds like an issue on your end if it's happening on more than one site. I'm guessing Paypal is linked to the same card? I would suggest finding another payment option if possible.

    • Did u have vpn on?

      • I think that isn't necessary yet (buying the keys) - but I tried once and it failed as well.

        • +1

Correct, however some sites may block purchasing while using VPN so I guess that's why he asked.

          • +1

@iambRad: This. I have vpn on usually anyway (usually set to Sydney) and even that gives me some issues lately

    • As an update, my bank called and said they blocked the vendor. After unblocking it still didn't work.
I tried to buy again using new incognito browser windows but couldn't get to checkout.
Tried again using my partner's laptop and a fresh account and worked first time.

  • Thank you everyone. I just bought 3 keys from gamivo this afternoon, took minutes for key to arrive, try multiple times on each key (it failed at the key input, failed at Next button, and even failed at claiming/confirming the live gold) but it works!!

    • Dude how'd that work?
I bought a single year from Turgame. As you've found, I can get past the RiskPolicyRejected error to "Next" by retrying a few times. I typically get a failure when hitting "Next". It says "Try that again. Something went wrong on our end. Waiting a bit might help". There were two occasions where it showed me the "Confirm" button to confirm the redemption - with the correct subscription details. However clicking "Confirm" failed both times with the same "Try that again" message, but no these occasions the dialog had an Ok and Cancel button (as opposed to just "Cancel" I generally get).

I've tried everything. I've removed my expired credit card. Changed my microsoft account address to an address in Turkey. Changed my Location (again MS account) to Turkey. Also removed my linked Telephone number. Tried both Surfshark and Windscribe. I have not tried to change my linked xbox account region. That apparently has consequences - you can't change it back for 3-months. So hanging off on that.

      • @OrderedChaos Sorry for the late reply. Keep trying and re-input the codes until you see the screen that confirm your live gold 12-months have been added to your account. And change your account back to australia

        • +1

Thanks for the update. Yeah it eventually worked. Was a widespread service outage. What a mess. I screwed it up further in my attempt to redeem, not knowing about the outage, by changing my country to Turkey. When it eventually redeemed I was stuck because it wouldn't let me update. Sub was redeemed with Turkey as the country. Luckily the Xbox support consultant just fixed the lot for me. But bugger… what a shenanigans.

  • +7

Gamvo has 10% of this weekend OCTOWEEKEND1 sorry for not posting earlier, I saw it was expired.

    • +1

      Added to OP, cheers!

      • +1

I’ll just point out it’s 10% off up to £50 or something so you can get 2 x 12 month passes 10% off. I bought 2 and spent an hour trying to apply the codes. I had another one in the cart and they emailed me a whopping 3% off code, so I bought my 3rd year after I got the first 2 to work. I’m now rolling in game pass ultimate though so great hack and thanks for the post.

  • Is anyone getting this error - "Change your Microsoft Store region You currently have a subscription from a different region. If it still doesn't work, please contact customer support."
This happens after Step 7 when click to join Xbox Ultimate

    • Was your Microsoft account set to your country of residence?

Check other comments here, they mention some workarounds also

      • Have made sure its set to Australia but still same issue.

        • If you set it to Australia after redeeming codes you will have to try one of the workarounds such as this

          • @iambRad: tried it and doesn't work, just wasted buying GPU

            • @venomx2: Can you confirm if you changed your country after redeeming codes?

What country was it set to previously?

              Did you try this?

              • @iambRad: It was Australia before then I switched region to US and VPN to US as well but same error.

                • @venomx2: Your country was set to Australia when you redeemed the 12 months codes? Was it always set to Aus before you changed to US to try workaround?

Logged out and logged back in before applying 1 month Global code via VPN?

                  • @iambRad: Was Aus before. Have also tried logging in and out before applying code via VPN

                    • @venomx2: I've only seen this error for people who changed country back to Australia after redeeming 12 month Xbox Live codes.

One last thought, before you changed to US country, you definitely disconnected VPN when joining Ultimate?

Maybe try going back to Aus and adding your 1 month code without VPN.

Otherwise I'd contact Microsoft to clarify why you can't join Ultimate (change country back to Aus first)

                      • @iambRad: Thanks, I'll try that.

                        • @venomx2: Any luck?

                          • @iambRad: Got in contact with support and they said my keys are US and it won't work with that key or joining from Aus. They suggested buying US xbox gift card and redeeming that way. Too tired to keep trying today.
