    Brand name???

I hate to be the one to break it to you but Senzu is NOT regarded as a 'brand name' for the intents you're implying. They might be the best quality in the world but an even vaguely established brand they are definitely not.

It's not worth negging over but for the credibility of your post don't be misleading.

    • This is a popular brand in Asia with favourable reviews. It's a pretty good offer for a 55" FULL HD LED TV as far as I can tell with nothing in the 55" FULL HD LED range getting with a couple of hundred dollars of it?

      • +1

Thats Asia - plenty of things are brand names in different regions but that doesn't make them a brand name here. You're clearly implying its a brand name i.e non-generic 'yum cha' TV - so on par with Panasonic, Samsung, Sony etc. But the reality is that its not a brand name

A few minutes searching the web would lead me to believe this isn't even a known brand name in Asia.

You would have us believe it's a popular brand with 'favourable reviews….your words….so can you please provide links for:

        • an Asian website (I can only find an Australian one, so where's the parent co's Asian website)
        • Where are these favourable reviews? The only reviews I can find are well…we'd have to differ in our definition of 'favourable' - lets just say that.

It's not 'brand name' your refusal to amend and to actually argue the point undermines your credibility (IMHO anyway).

Jb still has the 55 soniq for 699.

      • +1

I'm an Asian and I never heard of Senzu before.

        • senzu beans ;)

      • lol roommate has a Senzu….it's a pile of Chinese shit. Slow to turn on, switch media sources, crap sound and remote is tempermental. Dont buy one of these without trying it out in a shop first!!!

  • JB Hi Fi Sell them and there are some good reviews online.. Dunno,my bad, I have edited the title. Just showing as 55" FULL HD LED TV.. Can't find a lower price on any 55" FULL HD LED no matter how hard I look.

    • +4

This is another 55 inch full HD LED LCD for the same price http://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-lcd-led-plasma/soniq/55-full-hd-… so the Senzu isn't a couple of hundred dollars clear of the competition.

It does require an in-store purchase but there are many JB Hifi stores.

      • +1

        Well done noting this.

      • I will also recon JBHiFi over esold, if the prices are same or 20-50 dollars expensive. At least you can take it back in case of problems and JB has got best over sales service. For eSold, you are relying on total email replies and postage to send it back.

I would not buy anything from this seller…
just go and check out previous deals…screams unreliable.

I shudder to think about buying a TV from these guys. I would definitely prefer that JB hifi TV over this one.

    • JB Hi Fi do sell Senzu as well.. And I would be very careful about making allegations that are untrue as we always back up everything we sell "we dont make anything" we just sell all sorts of brands, including, Nikon, Acer, Toshiba, etc.. We always take care of our customers and have no customers that we have not provided with either warranty or support.. Our eBay store has a 100% feedback rating as well which tells the real facts and not just hear say

      • +5

To be fair he's not made any 'allegations' - is clearly the poster's personal opinion and thats kind of the idea of this entire site. ;-)

FWIW rather than warning posters to be '..very careful about making allegations that are untrue..' it might aid your cause to instead focus on the positives you can offer prospective customers and also be precise & accurate in your posting of deals. Misleading or unsupported statements/claims tend to undermine one's credibility. :-)

    29c OREO's !!

will wait for Nikko to give me the run down first though…

JB HIFI on Elizabeth St, Melbourne were selling a 55" Sony for the same price

    • +1

LED Full HD 55" Sony? Can you please send me the link? I want top buy one now :)

      • With all due respect I know you're joking but how can you push another poster for a link as evidence when you've completely ignored my requests for:

        • an Asian website (I can only find an Australian one, so where's the parent co's Asian website)

        • Where are these favourable reviews? The only reviews I can find are well…we'd have to differ in our definition of 'favourable' - lets just say that.

I would put it to you that these links do not exist - I do hope you don't call a discussion thread on Whirlpool or OCAU a 'review'….not that the concensus was really favourable. Tended to be ' you get what you pay for'.

Would welcome any other info you have as the most reviewed product I can find is a Senzu PVR which gets well 1 one (out of 5) from 4 reviewers.

  • Quite a good thread on whirlpool.. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1437693

    • +1

      First reply on whirlpool,

"All I can say is that is has terrible black levels."

Not to mention it is the 37" model.

      55" = worse black levels.

    • +1

If you feel this(a review on a 37" LCD is positive and relevant to the product) then so be it. But IMHO its about as relevant as this review of the PVR:
      http://www.productreview.com.au/p/senzu-svr500-svr1000.html

I note you've again had to amend your 'deal' claims as it wasn't several hundred dollars cheaper than similar spec'd rival……..honestly measure twice, cut once before you post these deals up. Thats just not a good look. :-)

Its a price oriented product and it's not even ahead on price…therefore its not looking like much of a decent buy to me.

  • E who? JB HiFi any day for me thanks unless you're offering $699 delivered with 3 years warranty…..

  • +1

If JB hifi is selling for $699 with similar spec then i will go for JB if I want to get a tv at this price point regardless they are charging $10 or $20 more for delivery.

Needless to say I will never dare to think about getting a $699 tv with yumcha brand. This is just false economy.

    Case close.

  • +1

Please remove the line, "This is the lowest price in Australia on a 55" inch Full High Definition LED TV with 1 year warranty." because it is not true. With shipping costs, this is much higher than the SONIQ TV that JB are selling and Soniq are amuch more reputable brand that Senzu or whatever it is

  • +5

IMHO, no need to attack OP REP, he just post what he think it is a bargain,. but.
    1. it is not a bargain, since the price is similar with soniq 55" from JB
    2. the warranty is pain in the a$$ (1 year return to base warranty??? how can it possible for us to ship back 55" or carry to the services centre??) http://www.senzu.com.au/support.html
    3. for the some people call "yumcha brand" they should provide onsite warranty! or otherwise, dead brand :)

    It is not a bargain!

    • +1

They must have set the warranty policy back to the time when they were selling 5 inch LCD tv. RTB warranty for a 55 inch tv is such a joke for crying out loud!

      • If this guy was right, then it seems that Senzu downgraded their warranty for larger panels in the last year or two

        http://whrl.pl/RcibeN

    • IMHO, no need to attack OP REP,

Not for the post, but his first comment deserves something:

"This is a popular brand in Asia with favourable reviews."

It is of course nothing of the sort. Seems to be a Japanese name, owned by the Australian distribution subsidiary of a Taiwanese company (Synnex) used to badge Chinese Yumcha. Unfortunately there is little on the web except company press releases, occasionally presented as stories. Such is the media now.

Synnex is a substantial company. I wonder why they don't sell these cheap products under their own name :-)

  • +1

why not just buy from jb hifi? that way you can test out the quality first

    • +1

I have reported this in the past too. They want us to see all of their products and find :)

  • Delivery 1st week if April…..yawn….

  • Come back handelbert! Some answers please…

  • -2

Let's be clear here everyone, as some people appear to have taken leave of their senses - the 2 different 55" TVs available right now for $700 are BOTH insane bargains.
If this was Sony vs Samsung or something, i'm sure there would not be the same silly complaints we're hearing right now along the lines of "oh noes, TWO awesome bargains :("

    • Let's also be clear that the OP claimed that this deal was a couple of hundred dollars better than the opposition and he had been unable to find any lower price. He also claimed that there were good reviews and that this was a brand name panel in Asia.

A lot of these claims were gradually edited out as people challenged them, as they were shown to be inaccurate or unsupported claims. I have no idea if this is a good panel or not but I am sure that the original post was inaccurate and contained unsupported claims.

I'm not surprised that it was taken to pieces. Most people were upset at the claims about the price being much better than any other and also about the unsupported claims of being a "brand name" with good reviews (that did not materialise).

I don't know what you were reading, perhaps it was not even this thread.
