920009418 - So Australian model, awesome!

  • not a fan of the small shift key and that button next to Z. Definitely got my eye out for the other models though

    • +2

The eBay picture shows the overseas model.

Itsaustralia (LogitechShop) is AU stock and has a longer shift key

  • What makes this 148 bucks

I need a new keyboard for my open space office and I don't think mechanical is going to accepted by the others around me even if it's a so called quiet switch

Is there anything around that's reasonably priced and good for an office environment.

    • +5

It's a fantastic keyboard to type on and nice and quiet. Like a Macbook keyboard in terms of feel, but with more travel and more comfortable.

If you are 100% WFH and do a lot of typing it's a fantastic investment and likely tax deductible.

      • How is this one superior than K380 to justify AUD148?

        • Haven't tried that keyboard. All I can say is I'd happily pay $150 again for this keyboard and there are lots of similar reviews saying how great it is.

    • +3

      I have one - it's great

    • Can still get the K800. It's solidly quiet.

      • This.

A k800 with multi device support would be amazing.

I like the MX keys (have both K800 and MX keys) and the K800 is just a little more comfortable than the MX keys.

        Reasons:

        1. MX keys does not have the armrest below the spacebar to rest my palms - YMMV but I like that.
        2. the keys are very low profile and there is no angle/slant adjustment on the MX keys like there is on the K800.
        • The K800 is a really good keyboard (I still prefer it over the MX Keys). The newer version sucks though as it has a built in battery that you can't remove (not without a lot of effort), whilst the original/older version had two rechargeable AA's which I switched out with Eneloops and was a lot easier & quicker to charge/change batteries.

          • @Graffin: I've got the K800 & the MX Keys as well, but I prefer the MX Keys.

The K800 just doesn't feel nice & solid like the MX keys does & I find the keys much nicer to type on.

I initially thought I wouldn't be able to adjust to the MX Keys given it lacks a palm rest & all the keyboards I had previously had one, but I soon discovered the slim/low profile of it means you don't need one.

I was in the same mind as you when my boss bought me one - I thought he was being ripped off. But wow was I wrong.

I think $150 is very fair for this product. It is well built and very comfortable to use. It can be used with multiple PCs and lasts months between charges (and has USB-C charging).

It is perfect for the office environment.

where do you work? i want to work for your boss.

This is the keyboard I have to use in the office. While I understand it's expensive, it's absolutely the best non mechanical keyboard available. It's honestly such a good typing experience. If you can, you can test out the keys at JB Hi Fi/Officeworks.

    • Can definitely recommend.

  • Anyone know when the new MX Mini will start selling in Aus?

    • +1

I think at the end of Oct. It comes up in JB Hi-Fi search but when you open the page it says 404 not found.

    • is the apple magic keyboard now the better product given it has touch id?

      • If you have a M1 Mac, it is your only option for fingerprint unlocking.

That being said imo not worth it for me even though I have a M1 Mac. $209 for an otherwise identical Magic Keyboard from 2015 except with rounded corners. Still has 1mm of key travel, and the biggest dealbreaker for me - no backlighting at $200+ price point.

I bought a Satechi X1 Wireless keyboard for $89 and I'm more than happy to stick with that until the MX Keys Mini comes out here. It has 1.2mm of key travel and the keys don't feel exactly the same as a Magic Keyboard but that's not necessarily a bad thing + it has actual backlighting.

Just saw that the mx mini won't be compatible with other older logitech usb receiversm, and its doesn't come with the new bolt one included. So I have to buy new receivers for both of the computers that I use :/ Although I'm thrilled there's finally a TKL version of the MX Keys, that is pretty annoying and at least pushes the RRP by $40.

      • MX Keys Mini $169.95 + Bolt USB $24.95 = $193.95

        • 2 receivers, not just one.

      • +1

Better if it worked with the current Logitech receivers, got several of those

  • +1

one of my key caps is broken :( not sure what to do

    • +1

You can find replacement keys on-line. Sites like laptopkeys.com sell them. Look for 'MX Keys', and 'Craft' models. Not cheap though. Usually around $15 USD + shipping per key. You also have to pay attention to the part numbers, as the keys might not be the same shape/colour.

  • Got to use up a $40 welcome voucher, makes it $135. Shame can't use multiple vouchers?
Could be a break between the mech keyboard with no num pad but switching between the two gets a bit annoying.
Should just wait for the mx keys mini as well, got a calculator next to me for general stuff.

I WFH 100% at the moment so probably no need but would take the MX Keys in to an office for sure - multiple device support is a great bonus if using two PC's (and pairs up nice with the MX vertical)

Mine showing only 10% off even though I am ebayplus member. It seems they removed the ebayplus for this item already.

    • Yep I had that experience on another item that clearly said ebay plus…

  • +2

Keyboard feel is very subjective. The MX Keys is very well-built but I much prefer the feel of a mechanical keyboard with the deeper key travel. and satisfying feedback. I stopped using my Craft keyboard (same feel) and went with a mechanical blue.

In an office, mechanicals could annoy everyone though. The Logitech would probably be better for everyone, and look more professional.

Great keyboard. Got mine for $120 (Aus stock) and it is so worth it.

Smooth and quiet ish keys and looks awesome on the desk. Highly recommend.

  • +1

Bought for $160 and i consider it a great deal. Best typing experience yet. Ability to BT switch between typing on PC, Chromebook, Android phone while WFH is tops

  • +1

    Great keyboard for WFH.

Easy to switch from my desktop PC, personal laptop & work laptop with this keyboard & the Logitech Master 3 mouse.

    • Can this keyboard be connected with the master 3 unifying receiver ?

      • +1

Yes it works with unifying receivers (and also comes with one).

        • +1

Or you can ditch the USB receivers and connect via bluetooth on each, as I've done.

Can also use the 'Logitech Flow' feature to easily move the mouse cursor from one device to another

If you have eBay Plus, I managed to pay just about the same from this eBay listing which includes free express postage:
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/384342267514

After coupon, the price came down to $152.15. You could also use discount gift cards to bring it down further. eg. Suncorp Rewards: 3% = $147.59.

    • Do you think $135 after the $40 ebay plus voucher a good price for these, may as well get something meaningful
(works out cheaper with the OP link for that)

  • Great keyboard even if it isn't a mechanical. Accuracy in typing is really good. I feel I can type a lot quicker. Used to rubbish wireless tech, but damn it they have gotten so good. Pair it with the MX Master 3 and you've got a killer combo.
