Fedex Melbourne Import Delays

Understand that the Fedex depot at Melbourne airport is closed due to COVID.
We had a package arrive at Melbourne aiport from overseas via Sydney on Sunday and rather than being delivered to us on Monday, the package was sent to their Hallam Vic depot where it still sits.
Fedex CS was unable to say when the Melbourne airport depot will re-open so bear in mind this delay if you are expected a delivery from Fedex.

  same happened in Sydney - packages were delayed around 4 weeks in some cases

  Ah no wonder - I got my wedding ring stuck with them ugh

  Maybe I shouldn't have waited a day before paying the GST/import duty and I might have just snuck in with receiving it on Friday.

  I suppose on the bright side at least it's in the country and being processed domestically, unlike USPS stuff that can't even get across the Pacific :(

    Just to clarify, USPS will still accept Australia bound packages - provided you are prepared to pay for Express Mail International at a cost of approx. $A110 for a 500gm package ($A120 for a 1kg package)
